I'm looking forward to N7 Day. I'll dust off all my favourite operatives and take them on a galaxy spanning wildride once again.

The early infos about the Inquisition mp has me hopeful for the new ME iteration. Hopefully the melee combat system is expanded in this game.

Edit : Welcome Aaryn!

Originally I was pretty sour on the next Mass Effect installment and I'm sure that it will succeed in being a contrived AAA game with by-the-numbers game design with little to no innovation and with the usual simplistic and straightforward Bioware writing and storytelling, but I'm actually pretty excited by what the lead designer of Mass Effect 4, Manveer Heir, has been using his platform for and how that might possibly affect Mass Effect 4. Among these, he tweeted this during the last Sarkeesian video

I hope the rest of the team at Bioware Montreal is on board with Heir. it actually makes me much more curious, interested and perhaps excited for the next ME game, despite being pessimistic about everything else

Didn't know where to post this: All Mass Effect DLC (PS3) is currently on sale in EU right now. Just bought Citadel, Omega and Leviathan for about 17€. Since there won't be a PS4/Xbone version that's the cheapest way to play your own definitive version (on PS3).

N7 day less than three weeks (19 days). I'm pumped! What kind of news are we all expecting? (stealth subthread - I'm bored at work).

I'd like a 30 second Title teaser, or more.

I figure we'll either get a formal announcement of ME4, or nothing related to games at all.
I think that we will get something that will make us fans frothing like a rabid dog at the mouth: a poster, artwork, some more "making of ME4" documentary videos, a teasing tweet. But I hope its the official release trailer.

I'm setting my expectations low so as not to be disappointed. Maybe a couple cagey troll tweets with some kind of blurry twitpic.

Fair enough, however I'm expecting a little more than that considering Dragon Age Inquisition's eminent release. I think people getting hyped over the next ME can only help DA:I interest at this point in time.

It seems like more than a few of them actually like N7 Day and really get into it. I'm not expecting any kind of big reveal, but a nice Mass Effect retrospective wouldn't be surprising. Something with a little bit of effort.

Mass Effect is simply my favorite series of the last generation. The universe is just amazing, almost limitless. If they wanted to, they can make dozens of games out of the universe. Historical events and heroes of each race/planet, for example. They can even make the First Contact into a single video game. My only hope is, I can explore more planets, inhabitants, lore, etc. in the next installment.

They better bring the goods. I've been waiting far too long.

Is an official reveal outside the realm of possibility?

The only thing that make me hesitate that we'll get solid info or teaser is because Dragon Age still isn't out yet and Bioware might not want the ME hype to affect the sales of DA.

Although, I don't understand why that would happen.

I highly doubt they will announce ME the week before DAI is releasing. That's exposure explosion for their PR to deal with.

I'm guessing it's just some comments and concept art at best.

Yes, but still... they took the time to create a freaking ME DAY! And they're going to do the same thing as last year? 2½ years after the release of ME3?

It's not E3. It's just a fan day for them to post a cool blog basically.

While an official reveal won't happen, it's not really because it'll affect sales of DAI. At least from conversations I've had. No one who's anticipating DAI will really go "Oh, a new Mass Effect's coming a good while from now? Fuck DAI next week! I'll just wait for that" :p

Shame to hear you say that, because this was honestly one of the times I thought it was possible. Would allow them to then stick an ad for it inside the DA:I cases, similar to how DA2 was actually announced by the card in ME2 cases.
Yea, just from some that I've talked to, they want the reveal to be big. It's Montreal's first foray into next-gen and with a massive IP like Mass Effect, it's understandable. I don't mean it'll be some wild announcement, but scuttlebutt says it's highly unlikely they'll announce it on N7 day.

You know as much as I do that'd I'd be more than happy if they did lol.

I think I just kind of hoped that if they announced now there'd be a chance it could still be a 2015 title instead of the 2016 title I fear it'll be.

People blamed them for not taking their time in making ME3, resulting in a rushed game. So i guess this time they listened. Yet, people are still not happy lol(I'm one of them, 2016 is too far!). :p

Btw, where is that Bioware guy who apparently joined GAF weeks ago? I've yet to see him post here! :( Bring on the teases man!

2015 would still be 3 years after the release of ME3. I think that's about a reasonable amount of time. Especially if it's November 2015, which is more likely, which would be 3.5 years.

I want them to very much take their time to learn from their mistakes from ME3.

I'll be happy if we get a Mass Effect trilogy with all DLC announced for next gen systems.

That's all I need for happiness.

I was told that ME3 already runs on Frostbite and that a remastered Trilogy is at least considered, but would be made by an external studio.

A remastered trilogy would be the perfect way to get people hyped up about ME4.

I admit that I don't fully understand why they would need to port it to Frostbite when it seems like it would be much easier to just renew the unreal engine license.

As for an external studio doing the porting that is certainly what I would prefer. Bluepoint studios would be the best choice since their porting work is the stuff of legends!

Sound like a rumor that was made with no reliable source. If it wasn't said by Bioware or EA themselves, take it with a grain of salt. I know someone from Bioware once said a next-gen port(not necessarily remastered) was "interesting and might be considered" in a Twitter post, but that stopped there as far as i know.

I was told by someone working for EA I met, I was also told that everything EatChildren has pieced together regarding the next game is right on the money.

If I remember correctly the Frostbite port was just something Bioware did to get used to the new engine. I don´t know if that means that a hypothetical next gen trilogy would have to be ported to Frostbite.

Yeah, and an employee of said company absolutely-positively would not make any sort of comment if there was not serious consideration and/or was not given the greenlight to make such a remark.

Shinobi, I believe made a post that the license for the unreal engine had expired and that they would have to port the game to the Frostbite engine.

I have no idea how a license to use an engine can "expire" but whatever. I also fail to see how said license couldn't be easily removed.

Eh... developpers say plenty of things on Twitter that doesn't necessarily need their boss greenlight. Unless of course it's some sort of official announcement like "ME4 will launch on January 2016!"

The only way I would buy a trilogy set is if it included EVERY DLC pack. Hopefully that and all the future Mass Effect games would have PC versions.

A remaster for me would just remind me of how disappointed i was how it all ended which wasn't just the ending aspect but more direction and gameplay so i wouldn't want to relive those memories and would rather just start afresh with a new ME.

Of course, I would be perfectly ok if they just patched in gamepad support for PC.

Doing a run of the whole trilogy on PS4 is preferable though.

I think a lot of people have severely overreacted about the lack of quality in ME2 and 3. Though flawed both are fantastic games. I personally can't get enough of this franchise. It's one of my favorites of all time actually.

I agree with you on ME2 at least.
