I have 1300 hours spent in XCOM:EU/EW. How does this game compare? Note that I am completely heartless and do not give one iota about story, characters, feels, cutscenes, and all that nonsense. All I care about are core game mechanics and systems, and how well the game's tactical combat challenges the player.

The game is very breakable strategically. If you want a challenge you have to pace yourself unfortunately. I play the game without using orders for instance.

Wow, looking at those PS3 button prompts again I almost want a button prompt mod in more than an unlocked resolution/fps. Though they should come hand-in-hand unless Sega REALLY messed with the stuff there, which isn't improbable admittedly given how the PS3 prompts for shoulder buttons are nice tidy squares whereas the LB/RB aren't.

It wont be as great a strategy game as Long War but its probably still worth your time. There isnt really a strategy game like it.

Have you seen the system requirements?

It looks more like a candidate for 4k downsampling on a decent PC than a game which will have performance issues.
