My friend just phoned me. He booted PS4 "There's a new update to download", then PS4 freezes. He rebooted, PS4 downloaded the firmware, then got stuck on "Preparing for Installation".
He turned it off, booted on again and the update installed itself. Now he's playing Destiny, but strange thing, since this was the first freeze-on-boot he had with PS4.

Thats more of a PSN issue than the system itself.

No problem so far. The download was very fast. I noticed it comes out of sleep mode much faster.

Downloads are faster than before, is it a 2.0 thing? I wish they did the same with the PS3, download times via WiFi are horrible.

Haven't checked, but I'm assuming it's to fix the controller audio output problems that people have had - I haven't used mine since 2.0 went up, just going by what others have said.

It sometimes does appear 'stuck' on that message, it's unpacking, checking and preparing the data for install. It's not the time to be shutting your PS4 down.

FYI, this update turned on closed captioning for blurays.

The kind that you need the little PS4 layout to pop up to fix.

Downloading the update right now. It's going very slow for some reason. Downloads on the PS4 have been lighting fast for me. This is a little over 200mb and there are still 14 minutes left and it's been downloading already for 10 minutes.

I'm assuming 10 million downloads has something to do with it.
Same with Apple when they have a new update.

2.01 was downloaded and waiting to install for me and it installed super fast. No problems and You can now sign in to YouTube

My PS4 doesn't know how to properly go to sleep or wake up without shitting itself multiple times. I've had to unplug the power from it twice because its microscopic power clit didn't want to respond to stimulation.

Everyone is talking about rest mode. Mine was when I turned off completely I had to rebuild database, I've never used rest mode.
