So add Ass Creed Unity to the long list of games that run the same or better on XB1, like Destiny, Madden 2015, and Halo: MCC.

Xbox One gets Clockwork Orange costume:

Cool, don't need to spend money. Thanks, DF.

Terrible. My wife bought me a PS4 and I can't even get a decent version of a game I anticipated in a seres I'm a fan of. That's just absurd.

For the tinfoil hatters, I'm going to start keeping track of the games MS has a marketing deal with that perform better on XBO than PS4. If there's a pattern it should emerge.

I doubt there's anything to it, but it's a simple thing to check. Enough ducks in a row, coincidence stops being a likely answer. But I can't imagine there's anything here.

I think this would make more sense if Unity didn't have pretty bad performance on XBO as well.

For sure, but it was still an effort to utilize the hardware for something other than shiny.

I don't entirely agree--they looooove bragging about the number of NPC models and that seems to be basically the entirity of the bottleneck. I don't really find that any more valid than saying "man we have some BITCHIN water physics. It doesn't really affect gameplay in any significant way and it runs at 20 FPS sometimes but man. It is pretty"

Also...man those hundreds of NPCs are ugly and samey. Like that ballroom pic where 90% of the guys are the same palletswapped dude doing the same animation at once. I really think they focused on the wrong thing and both versions run like crap because of it.

Thanks Phil Spencer.

Xbox One fans really must feel first class now.

My thought exactly. Lowest common denominator Development FTW!

It's funny how Xbox One has made this giant leap forward in the last 6 months but PS4 has remained stagnant even though it has better hardware. Really looking forward to PS4 exclusives where they actually utilize the PS4's power and show just how nerfed these multiplatform games are to favor parity for Xbone.

I've been playing it over the last 2 days, and the X1 version definitely has frame rate issues. I notice them most when I'm indoors of all places. For example, there's one empty cathedral you have to do a puzzle in early on, and it kept having frame rate issues. Then, there was another indoor place that did as well.

Outside, it's not too bad.

Yeah that lvl was really really bad on PS4 aswell. Never seen such a slide show on console.

I guess it's a simple case of Ubisoft not having the time to give it all to both platforms so gave the lesser hardware more development time to get performance up and hoped the more powerful hardware would bridge the dev time slack but it never happened.

It's not such a shock if you believe Ubisoft's claim that it's CPU limited. And given the nature of the game that doesn't seem so far-fetched.

The shocking part is not that there is disparity, but that there is a disparity of up to 25% with a not even 10% clock difference.

Utterly ridiculous. I cannot comprehend how they thought this was acceptable to release to the public.

Definitely adding Ubisoft to my boycott list alongside EA now. This blatant anti-consumerism is just unacceptable.

Well I'm not surprised...at all...

Let's just say this game should have stayed in the oven 12 more months.

I'm not. *Boots up Xbox One.*

Hell Yeah! That 25 fps glorious experience that Xbox One owners should be proud about. First class experience indeed.

Which games have performed better on the X1 so far?

The Ps4 is the more powerful console. A developer must be very imcompetent if their multiplatform game ends up running worse on the Ps4...

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Sounds like the XB1 was the lead platform with little to no optimization for the PS4. Quite a shame.

Yup.

When they first revealed the game at the E3 MS press conference you knew they had a deal with them.

You just keep on waiting....Greatness Waits

I can't fathom it would happen, but it's not a hard thing to track. So we'll see.

Yeah sure, it can't hurt to keep track but I imagine if there was something really nefarious going on here that the XBO version would've performed better. The fact that they both kind of run like shit implies to me that something went wrong in development.

Curious to see how the pc version scales across different cpus and overclocks. Not like I'm going to buy this pos, but I'm curious nonetheless.

In some games the XB1 has had maybe a couple FPS difference (for the better) but its usually because the PS4 is running at a much higher resolution with better effects. This is a colossal fuck up.

If the game is CPU bound and the PS4 has a lower clocked but equivalent CPU, doesn't this actually make sense? The game runs like shit on the XB1, I can imagine it running worse on the PS4 just by that logic. I dunno why it doesn't run at a higher res on the PS4 though.
