Name that Smash Character video

Look at all these lesser beings who don't know all the characters. I bet they didn't even stay up until 3:00 a.m. EST to see each PotD. Pffft!

well that puts things in perspective...I ruined my sleeping pattern for PotD

anyways, I had to look up who Elsa was and what WALL-E is so I guess I'm just as lost as they are in a way

Find it hopeful that Fox and Falco were (somewhat) recognized despite not having a high-profile game for ages, means the Wii U game might have some more traction than I thought. On the other hand I find it bizarre Duck Hunt was recognized over the lesser known Mario and Zelda characters.

People seemed to be aware Mega Man existed before hand even if they didn't know his name at least, which is more than could be said for a lot of other characters from franchises in Smash Nintendo keeps more alive than Capcom keeps MM alive.

People are so unfair on Shulk. His status is almost the same than Ness' when he was included in Smash 64.

The group of 3 girls was pretty funny. It was clear that one of them was a gamer and didn't want to admit it, since she knew many characters!

My favorites: Megaman as Baby mini-cop, Shulk as Marty McFly, Palutena as Mother Nature and Captain Falcon as Spider-man OMFG hahahahaha. Oh and Pikachu as Yu-Gi-Oh ahaha. This video made my day thanks for sharing! :')

So from the 4 most iconic gaming characters -Mario, Sonic, Megaman and Pac-Man-, Megaman was the less known from the video. Look what you just did, Capcom, hope you're happy :'(

That shit made me mad. It is got damn 2014 and people still think Link is Zelda.

LOL at everybody thinking Wall-E. From me and my brother's generation we used to think he looked like the robot from Short Circuit.

"There's too many"

No. We need more characters to confuse you all with!
It's really funny how every time a character is announced in each installment we start worrying about how much room they have left on the roster for new characters but to these guys we have too many.

No recognition for Shulk makes me sad because he was in my favorite RPG in 10 years. :( Oh well. Even my friends who play games didn't know him, but still knew what Xenoblade was.
I probably wouldn't have recognized Shulk without his inclusion in Smash Bros.

Up to his reveal as a character in the game I honestly had no idea which character (that I'd seen previously in some way or another) from Xenoblade was the main one.

It might be an amazing RPG but it was also a limited release one.

I say this as a huge Nintendo fan.

We're...true fans.
Fans, enthusiasts, etc.

There's nothing wrong with knowing a lot about something that you like.

The common thread in all these videos is that people know that Jigglypuff exists, has something to do with video games, but have no idea what she looks like so they throw the name out there the moment they see something they don't recognize.

This shouldn't exactly be a surprise to anyone.

Mega Man is more known among gamers whereas Mario, Sonic and Pac Man are pop culture icons.

Some really salty people in here re: Fire Emblem characters and Shulk being so prominent. :p

That said, I like this as the final form of these "My Mom Names The Smash Roster" things. Pikachu as Yu-Gi-oh though, lmao

Right? At this point it doesn't really matter who is added. The star power of Mario, Kirby, and Pokemon would be enough to get the casual attention.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
I'm surprised at how many people know Kirby. His games don't sell do they?

What gave people the impression that kirby games dont sell, they're almost consistent million sellers, they put out a kirby game aleast every 2 years, they experimented alot with kirby because of their trust in the brand, kirby even has its own anime that was dubbed by fox kids

The Duck Hunt recognition was pretty unexpected, wow.

Was also a little surprised by Kirby, but then I remembered he had a Saturday morning cartoon that has at least instilled a sense of who he is into this generation :p
