Rumoured to be LIMBO & #IDARB for December according to the IDUpload gamertag.

God I hope those aren't the games.

I doubting it's going to be Limbo, #IDARB I wouldn't mind, had a blast with it at PAX Prime, but I will never have 8 people/controllers to really play it. Let's hope for great net Code!

Doubt it will be Limbo. The devs of that game want to make money by porting their game to next gen. Already the day one peeps are getting it free, makes no sense to make it free for everyone else too.

I doubt there's much money to be made from a quick and dirty port of a four year old game that people can buy for half of whatever they'll charge on other platforms.

I'd be happy if it was Limbo. No code for me, and I never got to playing it back when it first came out. When do they normally reveal the new games?

They'd still make more than free right away. It doesn't make sense to me why they'd do that. The first month would be what makes them the most sales. But you never know, maybe I'll be proven wrong.

The Limbo team didn't give the game away for free. Microsoft did.

Not necessarily. I assume MS has copied Sony and pays developers for each download, so in that scenario, it seems pretty likey they'd stand to make more money as more people would be download the free version than pay the £9.99 they'll undoubtedly want for this quick and dirty port.

Wow, IDARB looks so bad. I hate 2D competitive multiplayer arena games with a passion. Volgarr was already as bad as it gets, this might be even worse. Calling it now, if they continue to offer GwG that won't sell even a 1000 copies when they are available in store I will not renew my Gold membership. They really should do a choose one of these titles thing. And if they really give out Limbo as GwG after giving it away as a day one present two days ago ... then screw you. I never understood their thinking with GwG. You'd think it was a no brainer to give away first party games because it's essentially a freeby for them. But stuff like Nuts and Bolts or Forza never made the cut. They have games like Zoo Tycoon(which is bad) and Lococycle (which is surprisingly good) or D4 sitting there, not selling at all. But no, they rather pay to get some indie game barely anyone is interested in. I own Zoo Tycoon, Lococycle and D4 but adding those instead of Limbo and IDARB would be adding more value to me.

My guess: Free with Ads and skin stuff.

So you get skin stuff free with GwG should it be part of next months selection?

I guess I don't understand why it's mentioned as a GwG when it's littered with ads and all common sense and decency says it should be a F2P title in the first place.

Unless we're about to witness the first ever console F2P game where you pay to disable ads...

So PS+ gets Injustice and Secret Poncho's. Decent, and recent, games that have some value.

GWG gets a 4 1/2 year old game that you commonly find for a dollar, and another game whose only notable value is that it has had its ads removed.

I hope that's not the situation, because that's a terrible comparison.

Don't be so entitled. MS don't owe you anything.

You have a choice, you don't have to pay for Gold.

Entitlement has nothing to do with an outright comparison between the offerings next month on Playstation and Xbox. I own both, it's not as if I have anything to lose. That doesn't mean I can't think Microsoft is offering up a lame month of benefits for Gold members.

True, and mine expires in a couple of weeks so MS can make my decision easier by not making GwG enticing. Luckily they already stopped all the apps being paywalled so that's ok.

MS have clarified the free Limbo thing

http://www.videogamer.com/xboxone/l...larifies_free_xbox_one_limbo_eligibility.html

Microsoft has clarified the terms of its free Limbo promotion, confirming that those "who played their Xbox One the first weekend of launch" were selected to receive "early, free access to the game".

In a statement provided to VideoGamer.com this morning, a Microsoft spokesperson said:

"We're looking forward to launching 'Limbo' on Xbox One. As a thank you to our earliest adopters, fans who played their Xbox One the first weekend of launch received early, free access to the game. 'Limbo' will also be available for purchase via the Xbox Game Store soon."

Clarification follows messages sent to some Xbox One users this weekend granting them access to a free copy of Limbo. However, there still appears to be some confusion over who was eligible after some early adopters failed to receive the message.

"The Year One Celebration gift box email was sent to Xbox One customers who purchased the console between 11/22/13 – 11/11/14, in our 13 launch markets, are 17 years or older and have 10+ hours of usage on Xbox One," the spokesperson continued, referring to Xbox One's free birthday goodies. "Gifts were distributed entirely at random to Xbox One owners from all 13 markets who opened their email and clicked through to the web page."

Microsoft has yet to announce when Limbo will be available to purchase separately on Xbox One or for how much. Rumours point to a release early next week.

Nah, can't see how they could "turn it off" once you've redeemed the code, the code is for the full game, not some sort of limited period free trial.

It's just a wording thing, free, early access is just that.

They owe me the stuff they promised me when I subscribed for Gold. I did not subscribe for Gold for no reason.

I still don't believe the IDARB and Limbo rumors. Because that would be so bad it would be hilarious.

When they launched the program, they announced it with Halo 3 and Assassins Creed 2. That was last year, don't know why you're getting your hopes up. The One has few titles from them to choose from, on the 360, out of all those games they chose those two.

Where did I write that I have not received what they promised? I wrote that when I generally subscribe for a service, the creators behind the service and subscription promises to deliver.

Just curious what you haven't received that they promised you when you subbed for gold.

It's hard to believe #IDARB is a December GwG, but a recent Windows Central interview discussed how they had already had their launch party and were "literally days away from a big announcement."

The whole ad issue aside, does #IDARB even have online co-op? Everything I've read about it focuses on the 8-player local co-op.

It's not going to be limbo & idarb as they only add 1 xbox one game to games with gold each month.

MS usually adds one, but they've added two before, and maybe the second game is to soften the blow of Limbo being a GwG.

This isn't about "entitlement." This is about whether or not XBL is a good value-proposition. It sounds like the way you interpret the social/economic contract between buyer/seller is backwards. Its up to MS to compete and make their service enticing enough for people to continue paying for the subscription. Like it or not, PS+ changed the equation and now people who subscribe expect monthly games along with net access. Both services have had their ups and downs over the past few months. A month of Limbo and whatever the hell #IDARB is would be one of the lowest values months yet.
