ZombiU 2 listing spotted on Amazon France

Nintendo's Pro Bono PR Firm
For what it's worth, Nintendo sent the Mario Club debug team at Ubisoft in the latest part of development. I don't believe Nintendo does that often.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
ZombiU was by far my favourite launch title for Wii U and on my favourite recent new IPs. Brilliant, interesting concept with a lot of headroom to grow.

This sadly sounds like an error to me. I've long since given up on ever seeing a true successor, one not mangled by overhauling the design and changing the setting the boring USA.

Set it on the Isle of Man.

Pretty much my feeling on it as well. Probably false, but I'd love to see a sequel with a proper budget and development time.

I literally just got the first game delivered today (with no Wii U to play it on). So excited to play it, not nearly enough games are set in Blighty.

Would a sequel really happen though? Impressive, if so, and another game to add to the Wii U's not modest 2015 lineup.

John Harker

Definitely doesn't make things up as he goes along.
Hmm. I wonder if this is ubisoft's infamous "finished game" that they were holding back? Damn, a sequel to this game with online multiplayer and more melee weapons/other gameplay improvements would be sooooooooooo good

Not by a million miles

Oh man. For me this at unicorn level like Half-Life 3 and Shenmue 3. I want it so bad I can taste but it will probably never happen :(

It would be confusing, and spectacular.

But honestly, looking at Bayonetta 2, what's the chances Nintendo just bankrolled this thing? I think it's a slightly safer bet than Bayo even.

What did ZombiU sell? Around 200K? Anyone know???

If this is a real thing I would worry that it would sell less than the original but you never know.

Oh well, I would be pumped for the game regardless. The 1st one deserved better sales though

Holy fuck PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE be true. I don't give a fuvk about platform, I must have it. Id prefer the WiiU though. Although if they use the Vita as a second screen or smart glass it could work too.

Just GIMME!!

Hope it's true* and hope it's only on WiiU. Needs the Gamepad for full effect and having to spread itself on platforms that lack a stock second screen would undoubtedly mean the developer altering the experience (needing to provide universal experience/parity etc).

*it's probably not :(

One of the best launch titles in recent history. At least for me since Mario 64. Id love a sequel. Not believing it yet, but very strange in Namco did it, and I suppose would make sense if ubi was done with WiiU. Though I'd hope it would still be made by most of the original team, and perhaps use the same engine.

wonder what that would mean, can they straight up continue with a sequel using the same premise, gameplay and the whole IP, or would it be similar in name only? Is the name just abandoned or the whole IP? Id think they would actually have to acquire the IP as well. Zombi U 2 could be nothing like the original.

So it's currently not owned... What if someone is working on it, but somebody else trademarks it?

Must be the finished Wii U game that Ubisoft is keeping hostage until sales pick up.

Can anyone cite this information?

see: Resident Evil Revelations 2

if this is true I doubt it's on Wii U, which is sad

Why would it be called Zombi U if it wasn't on the Wii U?

If it is anything, its probably a Ps4/XB1 rebranding that is simply using the name as a placeholder title rather than an official sequel....

Zombi X (at least it works for XB :p)

Yves said many many months ago that they have a finished Wii U game waiting in the wings for when the install base has grown, strongly implying that it was a family-friendly title though. I believe it was the same interview that birthed the "Wash Doge will be our last M-rated Wii U title" quote Can't get more official than Yves Guillemont's mouth. :)

No one really knows what it sold, if I were to pull a number out of my ass I'd imagine something over 600k by now with all the bomba sales and stuff

to really want this to be true, the original is the best horror game I've ever played

I blame journalists and the media for poor Zombi U sales. They hated the game, but it was the game the industry needed. But every me too game, that's buggy to hell and barely works on launch gets amazing reviews.
Also everyone else that was hating on Wii U

I dont know why people keep saying it prob wont be WiiU or might not be WiiU, the listing clearly says WiiU and its the only platform listed.

If the listing is TRUE then it would be on WiiU, maybe it will be multiplate too but going by the listing its def WiiU

yeah, reviews were really stupid. most of the journalists tried to play it like left4dead and complained about the game being too difficult/clunky.

and I was like "b-b-but, that's a good thing!!" :(

I hope it's true.

A sequel could be just as good as the transition from RE to RE2.

So much potential, and I say that as someone who absolutely loves ZombiU.

Gamespot and IGN were the most damaging reviews. The game had plenty of good reviews but those are 2 of the most popular sites and they put their reviews out early. IGN never should have let Greg Miller review a game that wasn't on a Sony system.

Made people think that it was a repeat of the disappointing Red Steel. I almost didn't pick it up after seeing the Gamespot review before release. Glad that I ended up getting it. It was a great tense experience

In a perfect world Nintendo would scoop up the IP (along with Timesplitters), resurrect and expand Eurocom and turn them in to their FPS/Horror dev.

I still think Nintendo letting Eurocom fall by the wayside was a mistake.

would absolutely love a sequel set in scotland or northern ireland.

ZombiU: Edinburgh

Great setting and gets away from the stupid U2 jokes.

Zombi U is still one of the best Wii U games and the only game to make interesting use of the gamepad. I love Zombi U -- the only complaint is that it was a bit underdone.

Fuckin' for real. I know everyone's entitled to their opinion, but some of the reviews of Zombi U just struck me as irresponsible. a 4.5/10, gamespot? really? a 4.5/10 for this novel, amazing experience? (What would it have needed to do to get that extra .5 to at least be half way up? glad we go down to the decimal point..)

it's so unbelievable this game came out of ubisoft, which specializes in making highly expected, homogenized, soulless tripe. I wonder if there's some kind of alternate team capable of making good games that they hide in the corner.

Well at least ZombiU got that part right. It was buggy as hell on launch.

It wasn't "me too", but instead even more hardcore than Demon's/Dark Souls and also actual survival horror. So of course it flopped. There was no way around that.

I'm so happy to be part of an internet community who noticed that :)

Same here. Makes you wonder of the folks at Gamespot and Greg Miller from IGN played it as a COD game and got stomped.

I thought it was awesome that you had to move slowly and cautiously instead of guns blazing. It made going around every corner tense. The use of sound was also really effective.

Yup the game has a 77 on metacrictic Destiny has 75, and 76 on Xbox one and PS4, but people was saying ZombiU sucks, and will say Destiny just didnt live up to the hype

it's been a while, but I remember first playing zombi u and going through some rainy area with some construction stuff around (if memory serves) and you could sort of hear the zombies around but weren't sure exactly where they were.. and you'd hear footsteps pick up..

the game had such amazing high points. it was true survivor horror. I just adored it. again, the only problem is the game as a whole was a bit undercooked, but still awesome.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/11/25/zombiu-2-listed-with-2015-release-date-on-amazon-france

"Amazon France has previous form in accurately leaking game details before publishers are ready to reveal them. To date, its list of scalps include Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the Killzone Trilogy, the European-only Assassin's Creed Anthology, Grand Theft Auto V on PC and a PS4 bundle for The Last of Us: Remastered. All of these turned out to be accurate."

I didnt know they have been that accurate with leaks

Well a few weeks ago they listed the PS4 as coming to PC..........................

BELIEVE

BELIEVE

hahaha. Yeah but this had a few details like it occurring in New York so there is a chance.

What is making me doubt it though it is the business side of it. It doesn't make much sense unfortunately

It won't even sell as good as the original and isn't going to move systems (even though I would be thrilled to play a sequel and I want it to be true) That is what is making me doubt it is real. I hope to be wrong

I remember getting cold feet after the low review scores but by the time I went to cancel it had shipped. Oh man, I'm sooooo glad I ended up just biting the bullet and opening the game. Still one of the Wii U's best. Maybe THE best.

Well, the game also went:

"What? You were defeated again before killing your last character to get your weapons+items back? Your last character including the items and weapons are now gone for good. Have a nice day and fuck you"

Doing so made the atmosphere and game actually work. But such a mechanic simply isn't compatible with the typical gamers (+ reviewers) nowadays. It's a game, that you actually have to beat, while the game tries everything to break you.

that flipping last part of the game

wonder if ubisoft knows/cares that, by this point, the game seems to garner near universal positive discussion whenever it comes up.
