Nah, Sakura is probably a safe bet. I just think they're married to Super Turbo in a way they aren't any other version of the game.

Don't see why Juri is a good bet. Seems to me the only SF4 original they seemed to groove on was Viper.

Wasn't there an official vote on popular SF characters like a year or so ago? Didn't Juri make Top 8? Wasn't there even merch related to it? I don't think saying Juri is a popular character is a controversial statement.

What is this attack?

Does Chun ever had any air-spinning attack?!

Yeah, that looked like an aerial rave. Either it's a:

-new mechanic
-her new charge down, up kick attack
-a new version of her 3S overhead

Someone on the leak thread said something about the "rise up" slogan having something to do with a possible new focus on vertical combos. Guess will have to wait for Ono do disclose more info.

I guess.

Nobody seems to play her outside of Japan, so my feeling is probably pretty irrelevant next to the data at hand.

I honestly kinda believed there might not be an SFV, so the trailer hit the perfect bittersweet tone for me. I'm sorry I ever doubted you, Ono ;_;

I'm not a fan of most of the (overly muscular) male designs in SFIV, but the female cast I absolutely loved. I feel that pixelated 2D art is more kind to garish designs than sharp 3D (I'd take Alpha 3's Gief over SFIV's any day). Like you have to be more subtle the more detail you're afforded

I really hope we get some oddball characters too like R. Mika and Eagle. If the roster is largely the same from SFIV but obviously less characters it's not gonna feel fresh.

That's the benefit of SF4's constant rehashing: to offer something "new" they have to throw in old favorites that didn't make the transition to 3D.

I figure Alex and Urien are locks. I love Eagle and Q so I'd be very happy to see them represented.

My hope is Dudley and Hugo survive the transition.

What day is SF5 coming out? It was December 2007 when SF4 got revealed in EGM.

lol TKxSF is vaporware regardless tho.

Haha, they should never come out with that game. It's destined to fail now that we have Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V on the horizon.

What about this? New mechanic? Taunt? Ryu looking good imo

EX/Super flash or the new mechanic that is going to substitute focus/parry. After the lightning, the ink surrounds Ryu. And later we see the same ink surrounding his tatsu. I think it's a close LP -> tatsu, actually.

The same lightning appears on the shinku/metsu hadouken at the end of the trailer, too.

Ryu, doesn't look overly stubby like he does in 4. Still a bit disappointed in the visual, hopefully they tighten it up.

i'm disappointed that it looks so much like SFIV

guess that's "safe" though, wouldn't want another SFIII on our hands, would we

I'm honestly surprised that either Capcom can't greenlight a sequel to one of their biggest series. So basically anything that needs a HD-era budget that isn't Resident Evil is screwed without a moneyhat? (I do have to admit, the teaser trailer was done well, though.)

I kind of wonder what Sony's attitude is toward JP console developers now, between this and basically forcing everyone off of the PS3 (as most of the recent JP game announcements have been Vita/PS4).

I'm also seeing a lot of concern about the game being free-to-pay... and while there's a lot of concern about Capcom trying to grab too much cash (and sinking the game in the process), the increased playerbase such a change would bring would be a huge help.

she ticks all the boxes, nah mean?
You say that like there's something wrong with that. :3
