Street Fighter V GAMEPLAY Trailer

I love this trailer.

SFV doesn't look less stylized to me—it just looks different. I think Ryu looks more like he did in the original SFIV reveal trailer, and the ink effect on special moves looks terrific. I can't wait to get my hands on this.

I think I agree. I'm definitely far more excited now than I was after seeing the initial teaser leak. I like the animations and elemental effects, and I particularly like how the breakable wall and subsequent second half of the stage reminds me of Yun/Yang's two panel stage in New Generation.

I can only hope that subtle clues like that two panel stage, the characters having a Street Fighter 3 concept art type overall look, and the fact that only 3rd Strike was used in the teaser (but no SF2!) can hint towards a game that takes its main inspiration from III instead of II/IV. That would be a dream scenario for me.

Regardless, this game is definitely my biggest reason to buy a PS4 already and I can't wait for the upcoming months of tidbits, teasers, reveals and (Gaf) detective work - which to be fair was half of the fun for me with regards to SFIV's release.

I don't want people to burn me at the stake, but this seems more like a SFxT gameplay revision
Yea that's what it looks like. I hope it doesn't end up being that though. Such a slow game.
I hope it's more in line with third strike or something similar when it's finished

SFxT isn't that slow. I think what people might be more worried about is if it becomes too combo heavy.

I was curious what it would look like, so I made a fake 60fps version of the trailer.

Awesome!

For those wanting to see the 60 FPS trailer on PS4's Youtube App:

Also (just for nostalgia) this very well might be the first look most westerners got of arcade Street Fighter II The World Warrior in 1991.

I think that the SFV trailer is suffering from the same colour problems as the uncharted trailer. Everything seems to be washed out.

I really don't think that a OTG attack. I think that's how Chun li just ends that special movie. I love that there's gaurd crush again.

I'm really can't wait to learn about this new power up mode.

Wow, what is this black magic? How did you do that?

It's basically the same thing TVs do for that motion smoothing jazz everyone hates, just hard encoded into a video file. I've uploaded the 1080p version to Youtube for your perusal; makes the interpolation flaws a bit more apparent, especially when things move or spin too fast for the algorithm to figure out what the in-between frames should look like.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RQ5pwCFgEU

The one AmyS seems to be the real deal, so watch that instead.

Edit: On further inspection, that one seems to have been interpolated as well judging by some strange looking frames. Guess I'm not the only one that had the idea.

Random informations, not sure if old or not :
- Unreal Engine 4
- Stage won't be static. They will load with random time of day and weather. Not entirely random though, not all stages will have all ToD nor weather conditions. Won't affect gameply, just to make stage look more evolutive and less static. Destructible stages.
- New system called V Trigger, not sure yet how much it will cost, if you can super or whatever, but will allow new stance, more offensive, ex attacks. Seems to double the hit on attacks. Really not sure about that though. Also, in trailer, Ryu does V Trigger combo and guard crush Chunli. Not sure if definitive.
- Capcom seems to really not like the dozen of release of the game (AE, Super, Ultra) they want a single strong brand name and update it from here
- They will work on a solo mod. They acknowledge SF4 was totally lacking here.
- Of course cast will be reduced but should have new comers at launch. Don't be surprise to see new characters from north africa, south america or south east asia, as capcom is targeting these new markets

How reliable is all this?

Visually it mostly seems they are finally able to do exactly what they were shooting for with 4's concept, but could not realistically do in game. IE the only ink styled stuff were focus attacks and the end of match pose.

I'm for it, simply because it looks cool.

Maybe come from here? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atyFzvcSJRE

Rough reddit breakdown -

Time / Weather effects in stages (i can see it already)
Release date : 2016, before the end of the fiscal year.
Unreal Engine 4
The new mechanic is named V-Trigger : You can change your stance.
16 characters (with future updates, see below)
No Super Street Fighter 2X + EX (Updates kinda like League of Legends / Killer Instinct)
The story mode will be way much better, they know they fucked up with sf4.
The PC version is here mostly because they want to bring the game to Latin America, South Asia, Africa...

This is all new info. Where did you get the info from?

I remember years ago playing Street Fighter II on SNES my friend and I used to pause the game just to check Chun Li's crotch .. 😅😅

interesting thart they are targeting new markets. Hell if that means more black people or an Arabian and Hispanics in a game I am all for it.

So.. it seems like they do not like doing ulra super editions... I wonder whose call is that.

and what do you mean by a solo mod?

you sick freak

i use to do that with mai from cvs2

I'd love for each character to have their own stage again. Fighting game backgrounds have always carried a huge amount of their identity, and SFIV's were meh across the board.

I agree,I can't really think of a memorable stage, except for training stage because of all the tournaments I watch, lol.

I also hope the music is better.

not sure what they call solo mode. I guess people want more than " arcade " that is only a succession of match. Maybe they will look at tekken with character interaction, progression , dan, money, customizations...

oh i see. so they might make this a more console game than an arcade game. Good I feel this series needs this evolution.

Please Capcom please make a decent final boss for this game, not a blend character having the powers of everyone please! There were rumors lonnnng time ago on SF 2 about a secret boss called Shei Long.

now that i think about it... Thats probably why Tekken is making an Arabian character

If updates to SFV are handled like KI—and not like the more traditional Super/Ultra updates in the past—exclusivity really is a big deal for Sony.

The SF series is dear to me and I'm over the moon excited there will be another.

Story mode is a focus!? You have no idea how much this pleases me even though I play fighters for the fighting. Mortal Kombat did it so well, so if it's anything like that I'll be really happy.

Never though of that, but true indeed. He says about League of Legend model. Can't be a random wild example. Not sure what is the best : more release or wild DLC models (characters, stages, costumes) at super high prices with micro transaction to unlock faster. I mean this is capcom and even if SF4 had many re releases, the upgrade to USF4 was great value for the price (as a DLC, not physical release)

well i do remember Ono stating how they were looking at the KI model for motivation for their next SF game. But I think this was before Sony stepped in because they also talked about F2P model.

Ah, so rumor said that we might get 16 characters at first. It don't sound good for me since my main characters aren't quite popular. Hopefully newcomers would be good for me to pick up.

they can definitely easily achieve better stages and music

I would really like a good selection of more relaxed, less busy stages
