Yeah, you showed them that it's okay to release a shitty, glitchy game because people will buy it (and "platinum it") anyway. Well done!
You already gave them your money. They don't give a shit whether you download their patch or not. In fact they probably prefer that you don't. Less strain on their servers.
There are no chests hidden behind micro-transactions.
Please. They had to redo the entire map, of course the download would be large. And things like this happen, Fallout: Tactics shipped with an entire disk missing content and you had to download the 800mb back in the dial up days, which was far worse. It's not ideal but shit happens, and if it makes the game better then more power to them.

Indeed, I have been enjoying it fine as-is. I was simply speaking about file sizes and giant patches in general.
Looked like the framerate took a nice dive in the first 20 seconds, as he walked out of the building lol.

As a PC gamer that plays MMORPG's I've been downloading patches this large for a long time. So not only do I "accept" them, I welcome them with open arms.

I understand the hate for the companion app, it locks little things from the game and encourages you to waste time on some piece of shit app but their involvement is like any game that has micro transaction or social unlocks.
- You see item/car/skin/weapon
- Unlock requirement is purchase/facebook/app/get 16 friends in a party chat and butt fuck each other
- Comment on how shitty that is and continue playing the game without non-essential content
I don't see how this is a game changer, games have been doing this more and more frequently and last gen it was fairly common to look at a car, map or weapon and see 'Purchase Now!' displayed without shame.

Frame rate is good (way better than before... for now). My wife hasn't seen any frame rate problems (she is the one playing). The ones in the Twitch stream were not present on our end. I do not know why Twitch adds fps issues when a user streams.
Oh so these notifications as a I pass a chest telling me I need an app or initiates doesn't force me to get either one to get the contents of these chests?

what about the control. doe sit feel like it still lags behind as you move around? i always felt like this one when trying to play things lagged behind.
Did they reduce the amount of NPCs? i really can't see a downgrade so far.

Lag is still present, but not as much as before.
Same amount of enemies on screen.
The game doesn't look downgraded from what we have seen.

Patches only replace files, the actual size difference might only be a few MBs
Honestly prefer this feature since you still get to keep the on-board memory. Just a extra wire to deal with.
Bought a 500GB not too long ago, don't think it'll make it to the end of 2015 with the size of these patches and future releases.
I believe if they could just flip a switch they would ...

Never judge framerates on twitch streams. They are highly dependent on the Internet upload quality of the person streaming and various other network factors.

Not as bad but actually, I'm still noticing the frame rate tanking a bit when there are a ton of enemies on screen and especially when you use smoke bombs.
