Event matches on hard are such bullshit. In the All-Star events, almost any attack kills you. It's a pain in the ass.

Sometimes I am just in a mood...it actually happens with all my characters. I try to hit with a move because I think I have insight. Then it misses, so I think "oh no you don't, you are going to hit". So I use the same move a few more times to make myself feel better.

Beef knows I do it in Marvel. :p

Does anyone ever get random friend requests after posting your NNID on here? It could've been from somewhere else and it was a coincidence after asking for a match last night, but it's kind of neat when it happens. I'm like, "I have no idea who this is, but sure, the more the merrier."

I was doing a 3-player party game online with some friends and the new guy just hopped in. Kind of cool how you can get random people who don't even know each other having some fun in Smash.

Well part of Pikachu's style is thundershock to pressure and so you can just go grab people.

It might be randoms you've played with online. I've gotten a lot of requests after playing FG.

But I haven't been playing any For Glory lately. :p

Seriously, though, that's a really nice feature that they included in the online framework... Have played 10-12 really close matches against a random once and went to go look up who it was to add them. I wish they made this ability a little more up-front, though.

Villager has some pretty good zoning tools

not salty or anything, but 3 defeats in a row hurts lol... shoutouts to the gafers I have played
-first time experience against Ness directly from Shamrock, think twice if you think Ness is a bad character!
- Anon's Luigi CAN combo! and those tornado kills, really got me off guard
-and Prof, Beefy lecture with Villager, solid zoning and priority on his attacks was something good to learn

GGs bracket 4, had tons of fun

finally started beating my friend -- who has been abusing me with his captain falcon --- by practicing mega man.

mega man actually seems not half bad. is he truly low tier? he seems to be pretty versatile and powerful.

I get the feeling these "tier lists" are largely irrelevant to a lot of us and mainly relevant to people playing at the highest level where there's the smallest room for error.

You would be correct. Tier lists aren't really important to anyone outside of high level play. When it does apply, it's pretty abstract. Ganondorf is going to be inherently more disadvantageous than Metaknight in Brawl in a mid-level 1v1, for instance, but the more granular stuff is total fluff.

That all said, Megaman is not what I'd call a low-tier character.

At this point the tier list is still a very inaccurate thing. We kinda have a good idea of who is good but beyond that it's almost the same as guess work at this point.

I had to switch to Mario. Your Village made my Luigi look bad, then your Lucario made my Mario look bad and I switched back to lose three times in a row. :(

you're correct. tier lists really meaning nothing unless both you and your opponent and some of the best players in the world.

Streamers for APEX 2015 are VGBootcamp, Clash Tournaments, and Bifuteki.

Clash Tournaments will be handling Smash pools, and the Pokemon tournament stream, Bifuteki is handling all non-Smash coverage (USFIV, Guilty Gear, KI, UCvM3, etc.), and VGBootcamp is handling main stage duties.

I remember not liking the quality of Bifuteki's stream last time I watched, so I hope he upgraded.

samus seems pretty good. I like the range on the grab and the missile spam. not as fast as ZSS, but some nicer weight/power.

I thought I had read that people were having four bots play smash run by themselves to get custom moves but I seem to have to have at least one human player.....what obvious thing am I overlooking?
