NeoGAF's Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2015

I really should have voted. I find it sad that Nintendo's most original game in a long time just barely missed the top 10 because of what's likely going to be a disappointing game by developers who really seem to want to make a movie rather than game.

I'm kinda surprised The Order made it in to the top 10. I was getting the sentiment anticipation for that game somewhat chilled, but I guess not.

The Order: 1886 - Top 10

It was chilled and I suppose it still is for some folks, but the latest footage shown from PSX and onwards look very good to many, including myself. The footage is a far cry from the initial reveal that left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of Gaffers. I think RaD will pull through with a compelling game.

I think the reasons that some games didn't make the top 10 is because there's really not much footage for those games.

All that hate for The Orfer and its in the top 10. I'm surprised Halo 5 isn't in there, and also that it was lower than Splatoon lol. Three of the top 10 are PS exclusives too and none for the Xbox.

Lots of great games this year, looks like 2015 will blow 2014 out of the water.

Hotline Miami 2, not even in the top 20? You're slipping, GAF.

I don't necessarily agree with the order or inclusion/exclusion of games, but it's a very solid list. 2015 is a very exciting year for gaming.

Ha, for a moment I thought a new Fallout was announced for this year when I didn't look.

Anyway, some of the games I voted for made it into the top 20, so I'm happy.

The psx gameplay was pretty bog standard and judging from gamespots hands on it had qte everywhere and a terrible stealth section. Can't imagine why anyone on gaf would think it had a good showing.

Serious talk. Are there any big X1 games outside of Halo, Fable, and Quantum announced for 2015?

There's gonna be Tomb Raider, and there's probably gonna be another Forza. (shinobi also hinted at Gears, most likely a collection). 6-7 AAA titles, I guess that's mostly it for Xbox in 2015.

Two remastered ports made it that high on the list? Games that you can already play are higher than games you can't? Strange.

To be fair, I think most people in the West haven't played FF Type-0 yet, despite the fan translation.

Thanks for the great work Shinobi. May I ask how high the turnout was?

Surprised to see The Order sneak into the top ten, all I usually see on GAF is that game being unfairly abused. I think it will be a solid corridor shooter with stunning graphics and a great setting. And that's all I want it to be.

You guys played it wrong!

PS4 beta coming back soon (apparently) for you guys to make amends though.

I played it with some good guys that knew what they were doing. I think the core game is awesome. The problem is the asking price mixed with the active community after initial release. And the hype from everyone may have caused a lot of damage.

I'll own it on Steam during a good sale though!

I expected there to be many more Xbox titles! Very Playstation / Multiplatform dominated besides Zelda!

I am afraid that the Witcher 3 won't live up to Witcher 2. Witcher 2 almost brought the studio to its knees, and took everything the team had - Now they are trying, by being outrageously ambitious in an open world to 5up themselves. Much bigger game, much more content, but can the quality remain?
It's not a question if there will be compromises - It's a question of where the compromises will be! Witcher 2 was perhaps the most competent modern gaming narrative I've seen from a cinematic and story development standpoint. Its antagonist shines while most games remain in the Saturday morning campy villain territory.
I fear it will be more like Oblivion - More shallow, less quality and worse pacing than had it been a linear fixed experience. When open world games go wrong, they tend to go really wrong.

It just doesn't make sense that you get a bigger budget and throw more people at the development. It often doesn't work itself out that way. Ubisoft and EA titles are a testament to that. If it worked like that Assassins Creed Unity would have been best game evar.

I'm still very hopeful and excited. But I fully expect something significant to be lost from Witcher 2. If there won't be. If they somehow can maintain the extremely high level of Witcher 2 (in areas outside combat, which seems to be more of the same in 3) in story and side quests and world design and lore, and VA/Cinematics, editing, audio-visuals, score, to the pacing of the narrative and the impactful choices you get to make, but now just 5-10 as large.
It doesn't make sense. Skyrims story is so-so but it's despite everything. It's main story is shit, the quests are a mess and a afterthought. I would hate to see Witcher 3 become that. Expectations are sky high! It truly would be a triumph if they could do it!

Plenty of other hands-on reports were positive. Plus folks who played it at PSX posted here about liking it. Plus many different people have many different opinions.

The issue with the order placing high isn't fanboys, it's people who value style far more than actual substance. It looks absolutely awful as a video game and seems to not care about delivering a good gameplay experience as opposed to a cinematic one

Thanks for putting this together shinobi. Also thanks for putting me in that OP. GAF has some pretty good taste in terms of what's coming up. 2015 gonna be a good gaming year.

Halo 5 nshould have been higher imo, but besides that, it's a damn fine list.

Boy am I excited for Zelda.
