A guy beats all the bosses in Devil May Cry 4 without ever touching the ground

It's not like the techniques he are applying are difficult either on the surface. But he's applying them while avoiding getting hit and beating the boss. I think that's a good way to analyze for a start just how amazing the combat systems in the real DMC series is. So many aspects are simple on their face, but can be combined in completely novel and creative ways to create all new approaches to combat and challenges.

Agreed. DMC3 and 4 allows for freedom of choice in a character action game that few other games can offer. DmC is a solid game in its own right, but it absolutely betrays this core aspect of DMC. On the surface level, it appears to still offer freedom to act as you please in combat...but too many enemies were made to only be defeated a certain way, and lets not even talk about color coated enemies. DmC Remastered seems to be addressing so many key complaints and using popular fan mods and suggestions, its a big step in the right direction.

Finally, the DBZ we've all been waiting for. I'm really hyped for DMC4:SE, if it doesn't come to PC I'll play it on my friend's PS4. I'll find a way.

Is that Downfall of Virgol or did they mod him into Donte's campaign? Almost makes me want to play Donte must Cry for that if it's the later.

looks like Vergil's Downfall. I think they modded him into Bloody Palace on the PC version, and they gave Vergil Bloody Palace on the remaster version too.

Imagine if DMC4 Stylish tournaments were a thing, great events like the fightining games ones, players play a stage or a boss fights concurrently and who gains more Stylish points wins. There could be "free style" matches or conditions-based ones (the video is a good example of that).

Exactly, see all the air speed dogdes he does against Berial for example.

I was watching the battle against the first boss (Echidna), and it seemed like he was doing very similar combos over and over again. I'm sure it's hard to do, but it's just not that exciting to watch for me unfortunately. It also probably doesn't help that I've never played the game (I've played Bayonetta, so I get the general gist), but still.

Enemy on Ground: Slash a bunch, Teleport back and forth to dodge
Enemy Flies into Air: Teleport up, Teleport Up, Gun-spinning thing (while pointing his guns down) to slow his descent
- Do the above w/ good reflexes, rinse, and repeat.

Holy shit! So much variety in combat in DMC4. Every time I think I've seen it all theirs a new video that shows off a new technique. What else haven't we discovered?

the Remastered one has potential though with all the more hardcore modifiers and fixes

DmC does have a decent combo system. It's not anywhere close to old school DMC but you can get stylish with it if you try. I was able to pull off some sick air combos with the grapple mechanic. The biggest problem was that the axe weapon was just OP and it was too easy to get to SSS with just a couple of attacks. No challenge at all.

This was corrected for the re-release its called "Hardcore Mode" it makes styling much more difficult, nerfs your DT, and buffs all opponents.

You can activate it in any difficulty. also there's a new one of those, Gods Must Die

That explains why you don't get it.

Why don't you look at the top left HUD and see that it's changing the name of the style? He has to be changing Styles mid combo to keep himself afloat. Slash in the air? That's Swordmaster style. Teleport? That's Trickster style. Rainstorm (twirling gun move)? That's Gunslinger style. Wide arc slash in the air with the katana type wepaon? That's Darkslayer style. And in between the slashes he is doing something called an enemy step cancel in order to keep himself afloat and reset his air actions (otherwise you can only do one teleport in the air and one double jump). He is also swapping weapons (Lucifer, Rebellion even Gilgamesh).

Replicating what he's doing in that video is extremely difficult and it's obvious to anyone who has played and beaten the game while understanding its core mechanics.

How does one get to this level of mastery
By playing the game hardcore for years.

I'm sorry guys but compared to other DMC highlight video this is the equivalent posting a God of War video using nothing but [],[],/\. This is just above bottom of the barrel skill, where they player has just figured out how to break the game and spam the same moves over and over again and has memorized enemy attack timing. It has absolutely no creativity.

I can barely even comprehend playing DMC4 at this level. This is "seeing the code of The Matrix" level stuff

If it was just style switching or just weapon switching, I could probably take a couple hours and learn to do something like this. But the players who can switch to the exact weapons and styles they want purposefully and on the fly, stay in the air, and not get hit are just insane. I feel like I'd be switching to random styles/weapons on accident if I tried this.

The guy is doing Fly guard cancels in that video. When you have learned how to do that then come back and realize how wrong this pst is.

Trickster,O,(F+O),Swordmaster,O,O,O,Trickster,O,(F+O)Gunslinger,O repeat, and play the game long enough to learn the enemy attack timing and cadences so you can throw in a dodge here and there so you're not actually reacting you're basically executing key strokes by memory like piano playing by memorization.

Full virgin.

The junior salt is strong with this one.

I'm still waiting for your video.

Yeah I'm excited for the remastered version.

Exactly how I feel when I see godlike combos in fighting games and trying to understand frame data and traps and such.

Yo damn...it felt like I was watching anime and not watching some dude play games. Is there speed run videos of people beating the game quick plus styling on enemies and bosses? Like wow this just made me feel like a C-rank player.

You basically described every great Demon Souls player if that's the case.
