Shinobi is usually reliable, but it's hard to believe it's not WaW 2. The date is roughly when CoD is revealed for the year. It's, once again, presented by Xbox. There is no other game in the series that is on its second iteration (unless you count ghosts, and if it's ghosts i'm gonna burn this mother fucker down).

Everything points to WaW 2.

Yep plus the "fake" leak aswell that was leaked a few days ago lines up with it. Shinobi is the only insider I trust but I don't know about this.

Titanfall 2 maybe? But that seems way, way too early to announce that especially since Respawn has been updating the first game a lot.

Shinobi isn't Bish approved, but I'm basically satisfied in this case.

My guess is Ghosts II but that's not inside information, it's just my assumption based on the fact that it's not WaWII. Then again this II might not even be related, or legitimate. So don't read too much into this. I don't follow CoD dev much so idk who did Ghosts originally and what Treyarch does.

Not exactly a glowing endorsement but I'll accept it.

Okay, I'm really getting tired of insiders not just saying what they know...

Shinobi pls

cant you just be satisfied that he's dropping clues or debunking popular opinion at the very least?

I'm thankful that we get clues, confirmations etc but it's tiring, especially when history have shown lots of insiders have bad/wrong info, even 'good' ones like Cboat.

Infinity Ward did Ghosts, Treyarch did the two Black Ops games

Ghosts is IW's new franchise. Treyarch last worked on Black Ops 2. They're in an interesting spot because BO2 went futuristic for some missions, although not to the extent of AW. With three unique studios working on the series now, it's hard to imagine that they'll all go in that same direction.

Wasn't there a Call of Duty: World at War II thing a few days ago?

Pretty sure it said that May 5 date and what not.

Edit: Here, found it. I dunno about the source or whatever, though, but the IIs and date match.

As far as I know there are three teams on CoD, each having 3 years development time. We just had Advanced Warfare from Sledgehammer, a year and a bit ago we had Ghosts from Infinity Ward, which means this year it should be Treyarch with their last game Black Ops 2 in 2012, which means they are up next with either a continuation of the World at War/Black Ops games or a new series from them.

And wasn't there some thing recently about users going round hinting at stuff and saying nothing on here, I thought Bish or someone was cracking down on it along the lines of put up or shut up.

I don't know what the game from Treyarch is but I will say, as I said earlier I have heard nothing at all that points to it being World at War 2.

Ask yourself why on earth they would develop a title that reviewed worse, and sold worse, than both Black Ops games as their next title.

I know some of you want it but I highly highly highly doubt thats whats coming.

It's Crimson Skies 2.

The choice of red, the Morse code that was used as the primary means of communication in that era and the numerals 2. It all makes sense.

Because COD players still love the old WW2 games, and getting tired of the stale future stuff. Youtubers still love talking about the WAW title, and how they want to revisit that era.

It's basically WaW 2 or Ghosts 2. Unless treyarch took over the Ghosts series, that seems unlikely.

Unless it's AW 2... which makes even less sense

Like I said, this doesn't have to actually be a Call of Duty tease. We're just assuming that it is because somebody made the earlier WaW2 connection. It could be practically anything.

Ummm no it doesn't have to be about either of those.

If its not Blops 3 I will be in complete and utter shock. Black Ops 3 will far outsell Advanced Warfare and would breath life into the franchise.

The timing points to COD though. First week of May is always COD reveal time. NBA semifinals starts on May 4. If Activision keeps that tradition going, it seems pretty unlikely that MS would schedule anything that would conflict with that.

I'm not an NPC. And neither are we.
I doubt it's WaW 2, when your franchise is down year-over-year two years in a row, you dont respond by taking a risk and going back to WW2.

Who even said the image in the OP is even legit?

Edit: As in actually teasing something big?

So it's either a pause or a II... or both. Morse code suggests (to me) something more historical or retro. Thus, I'm thinking that it's a sequel to a series/game that has been on "pause" for a while.

Rise of Nations II is my first thought, though I have no idea why an Xbox Canada guy would be teasing that. Crimson Skies is another possibility, which also works 'cause it's a red II.

Or, in all likelihood, it's neither of those things and I'm just wish listing.

The date and "presented by xbox" leads me towards a CoD reveal, not necessarily the earlier "leak".

Assuming this is CoD, everyone just assumes it's in World War II because World at War is in the title and the first one took place in World War II. But that's flawed logic. That's like me assuming before the Black Ops II reveal that Black Ops II would definitely have been a Vietnam/Cold War era game because Black Ops 1 took place in that era. As history shows, that would have been a mostly false assumption.

At best, Treyarch would do a WWII level like they did in Black Ops 1. But to design a whole game and multiplayer around World War II? Not very likely, especially given the massive success of Black Ops series and where the games have been heading.

I can argue that "World at War II" could just as easily refer to a fictitious World War III in the new game.

The point is, wait for the reveal.

Maybe it's not. I just find it hard to believe someone would go to the effort of encoding something in Morse with a specific date and time that lines up with a COD reveal and posts it to an official Xbox Twitter account just for kicks.

Yeah maybe it isn't CoD after all. The only other "2" would be Ghosts and I really don't see Treyarch working on that. I get why people think it is though because of the timing.

While thats true, I'm sure Activision would prefer the name Black Ops on the case instead of World at War.

But hey who knows maybe they will do another WaW, but I doubt it.

I loved WaW, but I would be shocked if the next game was a WWII game.

But hey, if it ends up being a WWII game, more power to them!

Can we at least know if MS has sort some of game to unveil in May or something? Lets start with that first.

May is when CoD's get first announced.

It's Treyarch's turn this year and I doubt they're making a new series of COD's.

It's a 2 and There already was a Black Ops 2. It has to be WaW II guys.

On that note, WaW haters need to go away. WaW while it had it's problems at it's core was a great game. With all the experience Treyarch has now from the Black Ops series it will probably be a pretty good game.

I doubt its Ghosts 2 since that would be handled by Infinity Ward. Its Treyarchs turn this year :)

So they did the modern thing, and future. Since they both didn't live up to expectations you don't try a setting that wasn't used in a while, and instead just trudge through the same stuff?

I think AW is a very good game. It's just not a good game for CoD fans. Ghosts was simply not a good game, for any market.

Was hoping for a call of duty 4 remaster.

They can't and won't remaster previous Call of Duty games. They can barely get online working perfectly for one game, so 2 games in one year is out of the question. :p

I know a ton of people who play Call of Duty religiously and they dislike the futuristic settings in Call of Duty, some have even said they hope for another World at War. Plus it's Treyarch, theyre the Naughty Dog of CoD devs heh. (In the CoD community) I think people would welcome it honestly.
