Oh right, forgot about that. I guess it's interesting in theory but there is only so much you can write about a game like a resident evil remake before you have to write about silly stuff like this

It is part of Kotaku's new direction of each editor concentrating on a few game series so they don't just review a game and never mention it again. Patrick is covering RE and Dark Souls/Bloodborne. The aim is to cover games more deeply.

It is an interesting idea totally ruined by them constantly referring to them being "embedded" with games and having a "beat". Like they are playing at being real journalists. Kotaku takes itself way too seriously. For all the shit the other Gawker sites get - they are trash but they know they are trash.

On the topic of Mario Party Party, my main interest in the series at this point is seeing Mario Party games I haven't seen before. I've pretty much only played Mario Party 1, and I like experiencing the other games through Giant Bomb. I think that's fun.

i mean did he choose his "beat" or whatever

why would anyone want to write about resident evil all the time

maybe it should just be genres

you got your shooter dude, your rpg dude, your fighting game dude

i mean thats practically what giant bomb does

i guess i dont know how many people are at kotaku... like 20?

One half (third) of the better Giantbomb. :p
it isn't 100% RNG bullshit though since its fucking obvious Dan knows to play the minigames which can give him the edge over the others.

So whenever the RNG stuff appears he's either doing better due to it working in his favor or doing slightly worse when it doesn't.
Shit like randomly switch stars and coins and junk like that which is completely out of your power because the spaces you land on are completely random? Yeah. I can see why Jeff and Brad don't give a fuck anymore. They know they're there to suffer for 4 hours on a stream... and while that was funny twice, I don't know if it's worth seeing 6 more times. I feel like Mount Your Friends is close to getting stale, but I'd rather watch 4 hour streams of that than Mario Party at this point.

I'm about to watch the Apotheon ql.

I played for 20min or so on Tuesday. I love the concept of the game but I found the artstyle and UI kinda difficult to navigate. It looks great but it looks messy.

I accidentally clicked on Love Live! School Idol Festival thread thinking it was this one.

When i went to check the tab i thought for sure this thread had lost it

Fuck Mario Party. They should play Dokapon Kingdom instead. It's basically Mario Party but with RPG elements and the star stealing backstabbing bullshit in the MP games is the entire point of this game.

They want to focus on specific games that are popular, not whole genres. Supposedly they periodically re-examine games to determine if they're still worth covering and then drop and pick-up games as needed.

Did people actually think they were going to play all the Mario Party games?

...Do they actually plan on playing all the Mario Party games?

Yep. There was an LP group that did all of the Mario Party games in a manner similar to GB, albeit with some house rules and 35 turns, and just like with GB there was a guy who consistently came in last and guys who consistently vied for first because they knew how to play the minigames. They always got all of the bonus stars too.

Glad Lost Constellation got some coverage, Night in the Woods is one of my most anticipated games this year.

Yup. I wrote this in last month's Indie thread:

Finally got around to playing Lost Constellation (the Night in the Woods supplemental). Loved it, even more than the first one (Longest Night). This one features player movement and object interaction so it's closer to the full product but, like Longest Night, it's not a demo or anything so everyone should play it to get the full experience.

I pretty much called it when the KS was announced but I'm confident NITW will be one of the seminal titles of 2015, comparable to KRZ (which, to be fair, will be one of the best games for the third year in a row, make no mistake about that).

Jeff would veto it.

There is literally zero chance of it happening. P5 will get a QL, and maybe a review. That's it.

Why would Jeff veto off Dan and Drew for their own premium content? Sure he's the boss, but the way I see it, he just let's Dan and Drew do whatever they want.

Brad should check out dat new Dark Soul 2 content

I think that ship has sailed for brad. He loaded it up recently on his im-staying-home-and-not-going-to-PAX stream and he seemed indifferent about it all.

I do wonder who'll handle the Bloodborne stuff, though. Seems like Brad would do a review but i'd rather Vinny do the QL since he finished DSII and has been playing the series since Demon's Souls came to the states. Jeff doesn't really care for those games, I don't sense that Alex has any investment in the series, and Dan just got into these games with DSII so he doesn't have Manus, Father of the Abyss on his CV.

IIRC they felt bad about doing a full play through of a recently released, niche game. If they do an endurance run, I doubt it'll be anywhere close to release.

But when he was playing it he seemed to enjoy it, maybe he's just burned out.

I dont know how many hours he has put into that game.

As soon as Drew joked about killing people in Hell, I knew Brad would bring Terrorblade into the conversation.

I think he'd want no part of a full playthrough of Persona 5. Especially when it's still a fresh new release. It took them a long time to shed the association with Persona.

It's a unique case.

What's wrong with the Love Live! School Idol Festival thread? Frankly, what's the difference between that thread and this one? Both are about anime.

Maybe Rorie? I don't remember if Rorie's mentioned if he's finished DS2 or not.

Damn it, now I'm thinking which GB member is most like a Love Live character.

Jeff: Honoka
Brad: Kotori
Drew: Eli
Dan: Rin
Vinny: Nico
Alex: Umi
