Ready at Dawn responds to "concern" over The Order: 1886 campaign length

Like I said, most parts of the game have problems, the package is still pretty nice though. Good first attempt with room for improvement.

This is basically how I feel on Knack, so I have some hope going into the game atleast. Playtime and recent impressions on portions of the story has got me down on it the past few days with everything coming out and the fact that I digital preordered, but I'm now gonna be looking at this game in the same way I viewed and played Knack. I went into Knack with an open mind already knowing the faults, and I ended up enjoying what I played and felt that the basis would be great if they were to build up on a sequel.

I hope the point I was making didn't ruffle your hair as it flew over your head.

lol it seems like almost every post you make is attacking someone just for bringing something up. And the point didn't fly over my head, your example just isn't all that great.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Journey wasn't 60 dollars.

Not really been paying much attention to this game but all this controversy has made me want to play it!

To put some context in the 'value' - I went for a pizza last night with the mrs in a well known chain, we had a pizza each, a glass of wine and a dessert. That cost me more than the £50 this will and to top it all off we had a barney! So even if the game gives me only two hours in entertainment that's better value for me than my night out last night!

Saying that I understand that for some people £50 is a lot of money and they need to be careful but in that instance why not just wait? Here is the shocker, games don't just disappear off the planet if you don't buy them day 1, if you are interested but think its too expensive wait a couple of months and it will be all over eBay for next to nothing!

Wasn't the game delayed like 5 times already?

What does that have to do with this though? They've probably changed much of the game during alot of those 5 years. Many games are worked on alot during their dev time and go through many changes, with many times games starting from scratch.

The persecution is real.

Shit just got real looool

I would be more interested if there was co-op, Gears co-op was awesome.

Yeah I feel co-op is a big missed opportunity, hell I thought this was a co-op game originally since the 4 characters and everything. Co-op actually would've helped alleviate a few issues, such as replayability in that atleast you could play the game again with friends and such, thus extending the time or enjoyment of the game.

LOL is there pizza comparisons? AYYY LMAO

Wow I lost a ton of respect for him.

It took a quote from the Order to finally lose respect for him?

Why would you both separately buy a pizza?

It's such a shame so many people are just going to experience this on youtube or twitch. It's seriously really beautiful just walking around and observing things at your own pace. You have to see this for yourself on a full screen, it's inspiring to see and makes you excited for this generation.

If I'm tetchy here is why. .
This thread should have been a good place to read the opinions of people like Rapier and Nighthunter who have actually played it (whether they liked or not).
Instead there have been various suggestions that these people who have played are liars or shills if their experiences don't tie in with preconceived notions of value that some people who have watched YouTube have decided should apply to everyone else.

Yeah, but there are other ways you could put the value of this game in context. For the price of this game you could buy about six movies or six books or two or three TV seasons. You could get six months of Netflix, and so on.

Honestly don't know why people give new ip's such a hard time yet willingly take a new CoD or Assassins Creed up the butt every year.

We tell devs and publishers we want new ip's and experiences yet we kill them before they even hit the shelves.

God I hate gamers, this type of shit kills any desire for me to become a game dev. Maybe I'll settle for tool development or something.

Oh absolutely, there are a million things that you could compare it to. Perceived value is a very personal thing, there is not right or wrong answer to it hence why it seems futile to argue over it.

Well yeah I understand that, that shit is dumb and I have no part of that haha. To me it feels like most exclusives overall are getting this kind of hate, just because of the exclusiveness of it. Many others who don't own the system could be jealous and just want to troll or whatever cause they know they won't play it anyway. I mean Bayonetta 2 threads before the game got released were pretty shitty too with port begging, sales talk about how the game was gonna bomb and trying to base the quality of the game off that, it was all there. I don't really follow Xbox game threads as I don't own one so I don't know how bad it gets there, but from what I've seen, outside of the usual Ubisoft game hate (AC Unity was pretty deserved in a lot of ways when that game released) it seems there is something about exclusives that just brings out a hateful/trollish crowd sometimes. Order threads have been something else though, as I said in the other thread, I can't wait for this game to finally come out for one main reason, more people have the chance to play it and we will finally get way more gameplay discussion and impressions instead of whatever the hell this discussion is right now. OT will be nice since OT's are usually safe from the bullshit.

I was "playing the Order 1886 in Youtube" by myself, particularly that 5.5 hours playthrough when suddenly:

"This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated.
Sorry about that."

lol, I suppose many people were concerned of the length concerns that this playthrough brought to light.

So have you played it much then?

Do you have any criticisms so far?

I'm impressed it lasted this long

I don't know, Shadow of Mordor and Dying Light were new IP, and people seemed to really like those games.
