Most shows were episodic and didn't follow any kind of continuity. When it happens, it's usually ignored.

As for the episode, Garnet is a troll with a heart of gold lol. Steven and Connie's young love is so cute and well developed. The show never forgets they're kids and while they have curiosities, it's always very basic and cute. It's nice to see a slowly developed childhood crush.

Steven Universe - Episodes 1 & 2

It was ok. Feels a bit childish compared to Gravity Falls or Adventure Time. Second episode was better than the first though. Main characters are pretty good. Also, I like his dad. Bit too much singing overall though. Decent animation/art style.

Keep watching!

I feel that after they establish some of the lore and the characters that the show starts to become really good.

Saw the latest episode. Steven and Connie continue being one of the most adorable couples on TV. I was about to call SHARKJUMP when I thought Steven randomly had time skipping powers but it just being Garnet's doing made it all ok.

PS: Uncle Grandpa sucks

I was wondering what it was she said. What a weeb.

Yeah that really stuck out to me. DAMN. The weeb over at CN Studios must be STRONG.

This is the greatest cartoon ever made. The test episode, the snow episode. THOSE ENDINGS. The lore, the diversity, the female characters, the humor, the stories.

Even the weird cat and watermelon transformations, Renaldo and his annoying fry family can't bring this show down.

Name me one cartoon that's better.

I can name you several but it would strongly come down to preferences and what not so I don't see much point in engaging in LIST WARZ :p

One of the few characters on that show with a brain :(

Keep it up. It get's better as you go along.

man Connie and Steven do make a pretty adorable couple.

Also I love Pearl and Steven's close bond and part of me, as cheesy as I know it will be, wants Pearl to be corrupted/turned against them just to see how it plays out in their relationship which imho is my favorite in the show. Not mother/son type, more like overprotective big sister/little bro

Hm, curious. Every other Cartoon Thursday show has preview clips released online of the following week's episode except Steven Universe (not counting the short promos during commercial breaks). This has been consistent the last few weeks since after The Test except for On The Run, which had a clip shown off at MagFest and leaked online. I wonder why that is? Just something I noticed as time went on.

Anyway, a quick reminder of upcoming episodes:

February 26 - Maximum Capacity
A garage sale reunites Greg and Amethyst with their favorite cheesy sitcom - Lil' Butler.

March 5 - Marble Madness
Steven and the Gems encounter another droid from space.

March 12 - Rose's Scabbard (previously Rose's Secrets)
Steven joins Pearl on a special mission to a place that belonged to Rose Quartz.

New title for that last one suggests the place Steven and Pearl go to could be
Lion's pocket dimension... after all, Rose's sword *was* unsheathed via his head in Lion 2
.

I have a feeling people are right about Pearl cracking. I wouldnt be surprised if some mistake she makes ends up getting Steven hurt.

Estelle's (voice of Garnet) new album cover designed by Rebecca Sugar.
"Ahh!!! Completely surreal experience of seeing my album artwork for Estelle’s new album True Romance at Amoeba!"
"I had the privilege and pleasure of being asked by Estelle (the voice of Garnet) to design a crest for the cover of her new album, True Romance! The album comes out tomorrow!"

Real quick promo of "Maximum Capacity"

I guess the title it refers to Greg's storage shed (and probably one other, hidden, thing). Hm, he seemed surprised to see Amethyst, so I'm guessing he asked Steven to help him tidy up and either expected Steven to come alone or at the very least bring someone who's a master at tidying up (it's Pearl).

Speaking of Greg:

Remember that Amethyst has that junk stacked up like 3 stories so Steven is probably pretty impressed by that.

Subbed.

A bit late to the Winter Forecast party but like usual, a good episode. SU is probably one of the shows where I actually dont mind the 'shipping'. Its neat to see a sample of how Garnet's future vision works. Also it took me second rewatch to realize that that Steven's visions end up in explosions in some ways. If it causes that much stress to Steven, its make sense why Garnet is always not so talkative.

Just gonna ask here, why does SU air one episode a week? Dont shows usually run for at least half an hour with ads and such, so shouldnt each week have two episodes instead of one. Also, is Pearl and Garnet a thing. I ask cause Pearl blushes alot in Coach Steven.

All of CN's shows air one new episode per week. Their CN originals are usually quarter hour only unless there is some kind of special. So this show like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Amazing World of Gumball, etc are 15 minutes (with 11 of content). The other part of the half hour is filled with a re-run of a different show or sometimes followed by a new episode of something else.

Not sure if Pearl and Garnet is a thing. Some people have speculated that based on the blushing she does in certain scenes but it doesn't seem like its meant to always be romantic. The blushing can also be at times of embarrassment or just upset in general.

I see, pretty different compared to how CN in Asia does it then. Although thats because they start getting new stuff like a few months after they premiere in the US.

Yeah, I guess that makes a bit of sense. That Strong in The Real Way song has me thinking they were, the bit where Pearl blushes when she doesnt say jealous. I feel that's pretty big evidence.

Oh and since I mentioned Coach Steven, it has to be noted Sugilite's theme is just awesome. The soundtracks in this show is just fantastic.

I kinda feel like that's where we are headed...but toned down. You know we are getting space battles and you know we are getting gigantic fusions. And you know Rose's shield has a spiral on it. Lol
Also Garnet already did a giga drill breaker.

I think it's pretty easy to jump to that conclusion given what's been shown so far, but you have to consider that wanting to be respected and looked up to is part of Pearl's character. She outwardly projects herself to others as perfect and logical, when in reality she's can't always be right and is something of an emotional wreck when stressed. She probably sees Garnet as something of an ideal, so she tends to seek her approval. Which is why she often clings to her and feels dejected when they don't see eye-to-eye(to-eye).

Or maybe it's forbidden love.

Oh snap! Rebecca Sugar is writing this one. Tomorrow can't come soon enough. Wasn't Alone Together the last one she worked on? That one got a huge reaction from this OT.

Amethyst and Pearl receive most of the development early on along with Steven.

How far along are you?

Just finished the one where he gets stuck in a bubble under the sea with some girl he likes.

Not a fan of Pearl so far. Just a big ball of nagging.

The cat fingers one was pretty weird.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

Oooh, you just experienced the first time together of one of the cutest couples (not merely in the romantic sense) ever! Still early in the series, hopefully you'll enjoy the other episodes as much as the people here (me included) did (hint: a lot)

I'm loving that response, thanks, Psxphile! Hopefully it doesn't seem like I'm not giving the writers of the show enough credit, but I just get excited when Sugar is involved.

BTW, is it me or is Amethyst blushing in that title card? Maybe some sort of crush on that person next to her?

Maybe. Fandom seems to be leaning that way (that's Greg, btw). Personally, I'm feeling it's more like Amethyst getting along with someone who understands her better than most, but that kinship being severed for some reason: a simple misunderstanding... or perhaps Amy (as a Gem born on Earth) has a history of getting along with humans throughout the years (more so than Pearl or Garnet, anyway) but pulling away when she realizes that she'll most certainly outlive them. If the latter were the case, Greg changes things for her because: 1) he became romantically entangled with Rose, and 2) he's Steven's father, so he's still very much a part of the Gem's lives on Earth, try as they might to not involve themselves in the day-to-day bustle of the people of their adopted home.

The Lil' Butler tv show was probably something they bonded over, and stumbling on old tapes in Greg's shed will probably rekindle that severed friendship. But that's just idle speculation based on what little information has been released (seriously, what's with the lack of preview clips?) and my own hopes, but I much prefer to let the show tell the story.

Off the top of my head...

Many characters in Regular Show.

Pretty sure regular show does that shit for fun.

Adventure Time, several instances.

Most of the cases in those shows were either one-shots or similarly minor characters. I think jwk94 was asking if any CN show has ever killed off a main character.
