I will definitely miss them but it's totally understandable when you realize how much the market has changed in Japan.It was probably the only way to keep the company alive.

This is just depressing...
Sony and Nintendo should do everything they can to prevent more developper to go mobile only, the situation is bad enough already and it's getting worse.

Meh, they haven't made anything worthwhile for like ten years, so who cares?

VP2 and RoF came within the last 10 years.

Guess I won't ever have to worry about the Valkyrie Profile series finishing. Though given how bad Valkyrie Profile 2 was, I guess it's just a merciful death.

Valkyrie Profile 2 and bad can't be said in the same statement let alone the same line of thought.

Good bye tri-ace. I will miss you. ;_;

I think Nintendo should buy tri-crescendo, too because of Baten Kaitos.

tri-crescendo seem to have settled into the role of Namco support studio. They did Tales of Symphonia HD and supported the development of Super Smash Bros.

This is like my nightmare gaming situation coming true :(

Hell, I would have even preferred them as a SE outsourcing partner over this.

Terrible news. I hoped that they would be able to eek out some success this generation, but it seems like it's too late.

They've been a shell of their former selves for the better part of a decade. I'd imagine most of the good talent has left by now anyway. Sad news on the surface, but in reality the impact is minimal.

Tri-Ace isn't (wasn't) my favorite RPG developer, but that's just sad. A bummer in a year that looks to be so promising for JRPGs.

It didn't seem likely for tri-Ace to bounce back anyway unless they got a big partnership offer from a first party or bought out by a big publisher.

Still unfortunate, RIP tri-Ace.

This really sucks, if only because a lot of smartphones games released nowadays never get localized, so I'll probably never see another game from them again.

Oh Crap, this feels as bad as the day my phat PS3 died and wiped away my Resonance of Fate save game. I was almost done ;_;

You had one job, Square Enix and/or Sega...

This... sad to see them leave like this, as janky as Star Ocean 4 was, I enjoyed it greatly for what it was. Sega and Square would have been good candidates to pick them up but as a mobile dev, we won't ever get a new Star Ocean now will we? :(

What a waste. Didn't tri-Ace also help with development of FFXIII 2 and LR:FFXIII?
I hope SE realizes they just lost a valuable development partner.

I'm playing Resonance of Fate right now on the PS3. The graphics are still really nice looking. The hair physics are amazing, especially for such an old game. Can't believe it's from 2010.

This is really unfortunate news. I always wondered what they were working on next, since they've shown their new engine.
