EA and Visceral Games Announce Battlefield Hardline Premium

In my opinion it would be a pretty solid goodwill gesture if EA gave BF4 Premium members some kind of discount on Hardline Premium. After the negative perception surrounding the game they need all the help they can get from BF fans, rather than throwing around another premium.

Also, why is the Rock in this game?

I appreciate this announcement because know I know to wait a few months to buy Hardline until the Premium Edition is $30 like I did with Battlefield 4.

Thanks EA!

People here seemed to have stopped paying attention to Big MP releases since 2010 I see.

I think some people believed they might attempt to restrain themselves a little, given the nature of the game. That being a reskin of Bf4, by a different dev, with a divisive theme at full price.

I mean, come on, with their track record and the lukewarm previews of the game, you can at least wait until you know for sure it isn't utter shitehouse.
See below.

I know it's cool to hate on DLC these days, but Battlefield 3 and 4 premium were very much worth it if you played those games a lot. Not sure what's wrong with it.
As Moaradin said if you liked the dlc for 3 and 4 why would you not like this stuff, you know maybe that's just some peoples thing? Calling people a moron? C'mon son.

I would disagree with a reskin of B4.

I've played enough to know it's not.

The game by itself is feature packed, way more then an expansion I've ever seen, FPS wise.

But i won't disagree with it having decisive elements.

But i really liked the 2nd Beta! And BF4 Premium had legit value soo....
Im a BF Whale isnt? :(

Isn't Hardline cops vs robbers style, though? I missed the beta, so I know dick about this game.
Different game, but just showing that EA has no problem discounting prices like crazy after launch. It's a matter of if and no when the price will be hilarious. Hell, Titanfall (PC) is $6 damn dollars and that was a massive new-IP AAA flagship game not even a full year ago.

This kind of shit puts me off buying games, UK price is same as the full game... I got bf4 premium for 12.50 so I suppose ill probably wait again....

Honestly, premium was rather worth it in the past for me on BF3/4. It's not a bad deal. Unfortunately in this case, the semi-full game this premium service is attached to is probably not going to be worth it's price.

I would complain about this, and I have in the past, but considering I fully plan on purchasing whatever Premium thing they put out for Battlefront as long as the content is reasonable (i.e. Clone Wars-era maps and stuff of that nature), I will remain quiet.

Regardless of it's problems at launch, BF4 premium was a damn good deal. Don't see any reason to assume that this won't also be a good deal if you're really into Hardline.

I'm more disappointed that extra dev resources are going towards all these expansions for what should have been an expansion pack in the first place.

Premium for BF has been the best deal in season passes for awhile.. not sure if it'll be worth it on Hardline.

Either way if you're at all interested in this just wait 2-3 months and EA will slash the prices on both.

Going by past premiums.

You get a shit load for your money compared to other season passes.

The only one that comes close is the COD ones and even then.
I don't think COD passes come close to the BF ones if I'm honest. The only time a COD pass will get bought is if my son wants it and puts his own money towards it, with BF ones I'm happy to pull the trigger on it pretty much straight away going by past experiences.

After Bad Company 2 I would have told you the Battlefield series was going to be my go to multiplayer games until I retire from this shit.

Now...I legit can't muster a single fuck. I WANT to want this game. I'm looking for something to cure my fps itch but I just can't. I know this isn't made by Dice but that doesn't matter. Until I see hands on impressions from people I can trust on Bad Company 3 I just don't think I can give a shit about Battlefield anymore. This makes me sad.

Yeesh, everybody's freaking out.

This is the exact same thing as BF3 and BF4. It'll be the exact same thing as Star Wars Battlefront Premium, as well as BF5. It's a system that works, and if you like the game it's almost a no-brainer (as to whether or not Hardline itself is worth it, that's another topic).

It will likely be on sale over Black Friday, so I'll probably check in then.

people who are buying this: can you honestly explain why you feel its a good value?

Cause im lost.

People like to play battlefield and want more content for a game they like. It's not that hard to understand. Battlefield has had a premium service since BF3, none of this should be surprising to anyone. $110 for the game + expansions that will net people hundreds of hours of gameplay, seems like a pretty good deal to me.

You're right.

To those curios about premium, here's what BF4's included.

20 maps.
4 extra game modes, 1 drastically different to the main game (air superiority).
48 assignments
22 weapons
8 gadgets
9 vehicles

And whole host of cosmetic crap.

Queue priority really messes up with paying non-premium customers. It's something we shouldn't accept at all, but since it mostly went ignored previously, here we are.

You know, I actually expected them not to do this with Hardline. Yet, deep down, I knew the truth. Yeah, I'm not getting this or the game.

First tragedy, then farce.

I think the primary difference is the maps in BF are like a character in the game and totally change the gameplay.

I'm not a huge BF player, but switching maps in BF are very very different than switching maps in other FPS.

A lot of BF guys also only play that BF release for 2-3 years, so the value perception is different. Now that BF is moving towards an annual release cycle I wonder if the perception will be the same.

I don't know, you would think it does, but I don't think enough people end up in massive queues for it to matter, they just find another server. That's the beautiful thing about server browsers.
