Rumor: Microsoft making another Xbox One controller aimed for the "hardcore"

How bout you just let me use a 360 controller with it so I don't have to deal with these shitty loose sticks that the xb1 controller has. Even Sony now has better sticks on their controller. How can you fuck up this badly? Did the people that designed this controller even try to play games with it? I'm not convinced that they did. Over a decade of stick dominance and they spend a bunch of money only to release an inferior controller.

Haven't used a XB1 controller, is the d-pad at least better than the 360 one? Because that poor thing was sad. I'm thankful for the existence of the Hori 360 controllers:

I have a feeling this will be a steam-like controller mainly for PC use. I just want a revised controller with a share button, not a fan of the center button being used.

It is much better. It's pretty much perfect. Where the 360 one was mushy and cheap feeling, this one is clicky and feels very nice to press.

I'm assuming it'll either be:

A. An Xbox One controller with non-shitty bumpers, slightly different erganomics and a better d-pad.

or

B. A rip-off of the Steam controller.

You and me both, ugh I hate that about the PS4 controller.

internal lithium-ion >> AA/AA rechargeable anytime of the day

The problem with DS4 it it uses a massive light bar thingy that kill them fast(plus the speakers), DS3 don't have this issue and it lasts for ages.

The screwless design was nice in theory, but in practice it translates to an inferior experience for the consumer. It gets creaky over time, and doubly so if you ever have to disassemble the controller. PS4 strikes a nice balance of using pressure tabs and screws, and this allows them to use only four screws for the exterior housing.

Yep. My first Xbone controller creaked like crazy from Day 1. Felt like junk. Thankfully the newer ones I now own are much better, but am guessing the screwless design will result in them becoming creaky over time.

I dont particularly have issues with the asymmetry ( even though I prefer the symmetrical sticks on PS4) but the analog sticks themselves are too loose and not as good as the PS4. The share button is also useful and the speakers really adds to the experience in a lot of games. The D pad can be copied as well. It would improve the controller drastically if they did this.
I ended up getting one of those kontrol freek stick attachments and the thing is godlike now. It's insane how much of a difference a $5 chunk of plastic makes.

I'm not sure what MS is going to do, other than a more elaborate version of what I just described.

They should change the bumpers to 360s style
Make the dpad like on the Saturn
No stupid AA battery slots
Keep everything else.

Here's hoping for better bumpers and sticks that feature 360-like resistance. The X1 sticks are too small and loose. I don't care all that much about the bumpers, but I wouldn't mind a reversion to X360 style on that front.

Internal battery?

That's a dumb/bad idea, since internal has way less charge than AA rechargeables (sauce: all my DS4s vs my X1s w/ Energizers)

Xbone controller is dreadful. It wasn't until recently I couldn't get party chat working that I learned it needs updating along with the console. WTF is that all about?

I can't believe this many people have issues with the bumpers. It's the smaller movement I've ever had to make from trigger to bumper, and I love it.

lol internal battery would suck, just look at the PS4 controller's shitty battery
Sony probably cheaper out on the battery. Wii U lasts 80 hours with the pro controller. I'm indifferent with internal or external, as long as it's not the Dual shock 4.

If this is true, it really says something about how bad Microsoft's vision has derailed since x1 was announced and how they still don't have a lot of clues about the future. They sunk $100 million just on the controller ffs. Wonder how much did all the r&d on that drm and kinect 2 cost.

Why are some people hating the idea of an Internal battery? The one thing I hate is charging my battery packs on my Xbox One!

That sounds like one of these 'audiophile' $100 cables or SD cards.

It will relay on a placebo effect, and will be expensive (and maybe even not "hardcore" at all)

Serious. I was hoping they would do a Sony and realise they had a half-decent controller that didn't need changing. The only thing I like about it is the triggers. It is inferior to the 360 contrller and DS4 in every other way.
DS4 is the most uncomfortable controller on the market though, even even worse than the Wii U gamepad.

Have you gone from xbone to 360? The sticks feel clumsy, the dead is horrendous, even the transforming dpad is subpar and the battery pack take up a lot of real estate. Xbone perfected the 360's controller.

People are missing the point. I don't think it will have share button or any of that, it will probably be just like a Scuf.

I think this is a great move by Microsoft. I got a controller with paddles in the back recently for my PS4 and I love it. Comes in handy for a lot of games. Was cheap too compared to Scuf.

Here's a video of it as I don't have pictures of mine here. Mine is the same

In all seriousness, I do hope it's a controller with a share button. MS has accepted that their Kinect vision is not one the majority of gamers want, they just need to take one more step to make the use of capture features as easy as it is on PS4.

I have Kinect plugged in and I really like the voice commands, but there's no denying they often fail to capture the moment I wanted due to the damn thing not picking up my command. Give me the capture/share button option.

There's nothing wrong with admitting you were wrong and trying to correct those mistakes.

Fix the dumb bumpers.
Also I'd love it if they could make the controller connect instantly like on Ps4. It's faster than it was before but I still hate holding in that button

can't tell if sarcasm or serious.

XB1 is much better than 360's one, which was awesome. I've had enough time with DS4 and XB1 controllers, and the XB1 stands out over the DS4

please, no Share button, it's not necessary, just fix the bumpers for those who find them uncomfortable

I'm super excited for this as with any tech, but does anyone know if there is any truth to this rumor? Even the slightest indication, I would love a new Xbox one controller with sticks similar to the ps4. I would like a speaker as well, love the sounds that come from the ps4 controller on zombie army trilogy.

What's wrong with the D-Pad? Not trying to say "you are crazy!" por claiming that it sucks, but I had 0 issues with it.
