excuse the speaker wires, i have been messing around with my rear speakers lately, and the wires were too short for the new placing!!! need new wire.

I have just converted my garage into a gaming/cinema room, very happy with the results so far. Still need a few more bits and bobs but it's pretty much done I think.

Back of the room, reclining sofa's and cinema sofa also can see the projector which is a Benq W1070:

Made these end tables which also hides the PC and also sub on either side of the room. Logitech Harmony One remote which controls everything in the room even the lighting too:

AV cabinet which is housing XB1, PS4, Virgin Tivo box and Sony DN1040 amp. Amp is running Tannoy speakers in 7.2 as well, crazy amount of bass from the two subs. All cabling is run through ducting under the floor, walls and ceiling so no cables hanging out anywhere really:

46" Samsung TV which is mounted into a recess into the wall so it flush with the rest of the wall and also continued the RGB LED strip lights from the ceiling tray around the TV.

Then turn the projector on and the screen drops down nicely in front of it all. 124" Sapphire motorised screen:

Absolutely love the setup and gaming is great on it, I wasn't expecting the projector to be as good as it is but if I had of known then I probably wouldn't have bothered with the TV and would have just had a fixed screen put on the wall for the projector. TV does make a good virtual fireplace/aquarium though.

How much wire do you need? I have a huge roll (250ft) of 16g wire and could parse some out to you if you wanted to pay USPS flat rate. I bought a roll for out of wall installation and wound up doing completely in-wall/in-ceiling setup so I had to get another roll that UL listed in wall because it is running near electrical cables.

Wow that's real nice of you dude. I appreciate it but shipping to Canada with the weight of the wire probably wouldn't be worth i? I only need one 20 ft length of thinnish type as it's just for rear towers only 6 inch drivers and some tweeters and they are doing surround duties only. What you think?

The wire I've got may be overkill. I got what was meant for long runs of cable (up to 60ft) and 8" drivers. I don't have any thin speaker cable :/

Jesus all of your setups look so clean and sophisticated....well here's my setup that I share with my Fiancé, we're moving out soon so hopefully the 2016 setup will look a lot nicer..

There's also a gaming PC hidden behind my bed, it's very cramped and messy compared to the extraordinary setups you guys have!

From the couch, you can't see (or hear) the PC at all, which I'm very happy with. PC is a i7-4790k / GTX 980 in a Deep Silence 1. Xbox One is for Destiny (basically) and Kinect stuff, as well as having a dedicated Blu-ray player, as I really didn't like using the wireless keyboard and mouse to run BDs through the PC.

Nice thread. I see a lot of you ladies and gents have nice big TVs, but then you go sit 25 feet away from it... Lol. I have a humble 55-inch Sony, and I sit 6 feet away from that motherfucker, eyesight be damned. I want to feel like I'm IN the game, like front row at a movie.

Heh, I sit 5 feet from my 60inch.

Ive got a question. Ive upgraded my PC from an Nvidia 660 to an AMD R9 290x MSI. Ive got 16 gb of Ram, AMD FX 8350 and Kingdom of Amalur runs sometimes at 60 FPS and it dips. WTH am I doing wrong here?

noticed that as well. Then I start to wonder how useful is 4k for people who sit that far away.. heck even 1080p is probably wasted in some of these setups.

Oh no, the Carlton Bale chart... It is on the pessimistic side of the level of detail people's eyes can discern.

I'm not saying these are the truth, but the Carlton Bale chart is too often brought up as a counterargument against 4k, and it's a bit sad.

I moved right after Christmas and moved into my new place a little over a month ago. Here's how my new gaming setup currently stands:

After a lot of years watching this thread,i decided to show my humble setup.

The furniture is recycled and has been painted and modified to put all my consoles.

For now i have a PS3 ,PS2,Dreamcast, Mega Drive and Master system.

And i´m looking for a cheap Wii and XB 360.

Forgive the bad photos but the room is very small and its very difficult take a decent photos.

This thread always makes me super jelly, but also gives me ideas on setups. That is, once I stop getting poorer and can afford some fancy things. I'll post mine later.

I've this same cabinet and setup. I have my shelf set a little higher away from my receiver and keep my Wii U and PS4 on top, while keeping the Xbone where you have it. Do you not feel like you may be giving your receiver too little room to ventilate?

Yup, it's definitely close. That AVR has been in there for ~5 years, and I've never had any issues with it, knock on wood. I'd honestly be more concerned about the Xbox overheating, so I'm inclined to give it more space! ;)

Been lurking on these threads for quite some time, am finally able to post my own! My partner and I both game so we often buy 2 consoles and 2 copies of games to prevent disagreements. Not that fancy until we buy our own place and are allowed to make modifications.

So, we have: 2 xbones, 2 360s, 2 ps1s, 2 ps2s, 2 snes, 2 ipads, 2 iphone 5s, 2 iphone 4s (used as ipods), 2 laptops (qosmio x500 for games and cheap asus for browsing), xbox classic, n64, ps3, wiiu, wii, vita. Some of this is hidden away as we have up to 5 dogs at a time (depending on how many we foster) that get left home alone and are often destructive. We're also in a rental that doesn't allow ANYTHING on walls - no hooks, no blu-tak, nothing, so they look quite bare. The lounge that is next to the tv is mainly for the dogs, so it's a bit filthy even though it gets steam cleaned monthly.

Next purchases will be a ps4 (not really necessary, I think I've played the ps3 twice maybe?), another vita (so we don't fight over it) and maybe a desktop computer (my qosmio is slowly dying...)

And, just because, here is my most destructive permanent dog looking as innocent as possible...

I was more just saying that since we have a 60" TV and for how far we sit can't really see the difference on 720p games to 1080p games. We sit like 15' or more away. While it is a nice big screen I can't see the difference like I can in my room 2-3' away from my monitor

I picked up three of these fans: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G059G86/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have two running on either side of the Xbone (they can be daisychained off one USB), and one down on the receiver to vent a little air.

Here you can see the full size.
Who can tell the movie on screen? ;)

Nice setup. I love that Mario wallpaper on the left.
A question though.. Can you play your games from that distant?
The TV seems like quite far from the sofa. Texts would be unreadable if it was me.
