It can go toe to toe with the PS4, but the XB1 wins it with the extra cloud performance it is getting and the extra DX12 secret sauce smeared all on the motherboard.

From what I've heard, the PS4 is around equivalent to a GTX660 GPU.

In the GTX___ number series, the first number is simply the series (so 9 is newer than 7), and the next two are generally indicators of their position/power in that series (so 80 is better than 60). This means just from naming you can probably tell that a GTX980 is a few leagues faster than a GTX660, because it's two series newer (they skipped the 800 series on desktop) and two models faster.

A GTX760 would typically also be more powerful than a GTX660 despite still having the "60" in the model name, just because they're normally more optimised or improved in some form from being newer.

It's not completely right but that would be the basic gist of how it works.

Pretty much all of these cards fit between the Titan X and the GTX660 in terms of power, so I'll list them to demonstrate the gap between PS4 power and Titan X PC power:

GTX660, GTX670, GTX680, GTX760, GTX770, GTX780, GTX970, GTX980, Titan X

Even a GTX660 and a GTX780 are miles apart in power, so hopefully that illustrates it a bit.

This card is like 1/3 of a PS4 and a 2/7 of a X1 ductaped around 3 GCs, or just 1 Wii U, if you are running low on duck tape.

If you were planning on getting this card, I'd recommend instead buying a N64, since it uses the latest technology of Silicon Graphics, now that was a beast ahead of its time.

You know, I thought the initial comments were pretty funny, but I just want to tip my hat to you for giving this person an honest answer. A year ago, I knew very little about PC hardware, and I think people forget that current gen consoles are an easy comparison point even if they are leagues apart.

It's a lot more powerful, but the graphics of games won't be leaps and bounds better than that of console games. They'll look slightly better at a much higher resolution and 60 FPS+ framerate with some extra effects here or there.

The R9 295X2 is such a beast of a card. Looking at the benchmarks, it's still bests the Titan X in most cases.

As far as I'm aware, yes.

No information on that right now. You'll definitely be able to buy anything and install it yourself, though, and that's pretty easy nowadays.

Regardless, the reference cooler is excellent, in my opinion, and dumps all that hot GM200 and 12GB RAM air out of your case instead of into it
