So it's this kinda party then.
its ok i read dan brown and enjoyed the hunger games
I tried that. I can see there's some sort of threading in this system, but it's yet another Interface from Hell that has its own quirks and eccentricities and is hard to figure out unless you're a member of the internal cognoscenti who inevitably sneer at the newbie becuz they don't grok the system.
Sigh. I go to your post. I hit quote. It sticks a bunch of light HTML in the body of the message. Not in the title. What am I missing?

Rick hits the fabulous, incredibly intuitive "Quote" button. Heaven forbid it should say something like "Reply" or "Answer." Words that ACTUALLY have meaning in the context of what's going on.
Rick sees HTML in the BODY of the reply. The "Message" field is blank.
Rick does the logical thing and hits "Preview." The system tells Rick his title is too short.
Rick realizes he's in interface Hell. Rick knows all about interface Hell. Rick was once the product manager of WordStar.
Your advice and assistance greatly appreciated.
Rick is certainly comfortable with using his name and the fact that he is the author of the book under discussion as SEO bait. He expects his 15 minutes of fame.

Be careful with the power of author-summoning. My sister recently started reading Don Quixote and last week Cervantes unearthed himself from his hidden tomb beneath a monastery.
You don't actually have to make a title for a post when you quote someone. After you click on quote, just type your reply under where the person you are quoting's original text is. You can't just quote someone without actually responding to them.

Suddenly, I'm afraid of a future where I won't know who "rick" is anymore!
Rick! Don't stop signing your posts! These other fine posters are lying to you! The longer sig the better!
Rick tell me about the process you went through getting published I need help getting my book places.
Actually, I have seen many situations where flamewars broke out where people began spoofing other people. Asking people to sign tended to stop that. I'm a bit interested in the mindset that doesn't like people using their actual names. It's an interesting social trend I don't think I've thought about enough. Why do you think me using my name is "spamming?"

Yyoooo Rick delete your phone number.
Internets not nice man
If an author has to explain to his audience how good, how believable, how well thought out his world is, he has failed as an author.
Yeah Rich, you might want to edit that out!
I appreciate your concern, but my number is up on several locations on the web. I believe in trying to actually talk to people from time to time. Believe me, I know all about the spoofs and nonsense. But my offer to Mike stands. If he tries to sell me real estate in Romania, I'll hang up on him.
