How the heck are you supposed to kill
the invisible things that instantly kill you in Raid mode? Just spray wildly and hope that you don't have to do the whole stage all over again?

It's very doable. My countdown playtime was 2 hours and 10 minutes (it's a bit silly this mode doesn't count for unlocking the rocket launcher), and you can do campaign even faster if you play on casual (I'm pretty sure countdown is based on normal difficulty) and use bonus weapons.

Correct, Countdown uses Normal settings and Invisible Enemy uses Survival.

They appear when you aim at them. So when you see your screen distorted, back up and sweep your aiming reticle across the air in front of you until you reveal their position.

Finally got around to getting the proper ending.

Holy fuck. That's the best thing that's happened in Resident Evil since... the ending of RE3, maybe? Hell, maybe ever.

I hammered through Claire 3 on Casual and jumped to Barry 4 and did the same. When Moira shows up, finally giving us the reunion the entire game was teasing, it was a total fist-pumping "FUCK YEAH" moment. Especially when you realize just how similar the two characters are to one another, right about when Barry says "Fucking technology," and Moira responds, both laughing and crying, "Fuck it right up the ass."

Goddamn, and then Claire in the chopper and that badass outfit with the rifle? It's such a perfect homage to past RE endings, while also being super fucking awesome in it's own right. I loved everything about it. Right on down to the reference to Chris' campaign in RE6 when Claire is in the car.

It really is the best game in the series since RE4, and I say this as someone who LOVED both RE5 and RE6, though I was a bit disappointed with the campaign of the first Revelations. I can only hope this is what Capcom was talking about when they mentioned returning to the horror roots after the negative reception RE6 got. This game was the perfect mix of the old and new, and while it admittedly appeals more to the new, it's still a stellar fucking horror action game. It's easily my current game of the year, and while Bloodborne or something else might unseat it, I can't imagine it won't be in my top 3 come December.

I just fucking loved it. And I'm addicted to raid mode.

I do have two quick questions though, one about the ending, and the other about an unlockable:

What's with Natalia after that post-credits scene? It's clear in the bad ending she has to die for Alex to possess her, which happens when she crushes her, but how does this happen in the good ending? They're clearly implying something sinister with Natalia, so either something bad is going on, but it's not Alex, or Alex still manged to possess her somehow, even though Natalia never died.

And finally, Claire's sniper outfit is still locked in Raid for me, and it says I can unlock it by either completing campaign or by completing Gauntlet 8. Does completing the campaign also mean the bonus episodes?

I like the post-credit scene.
Did you spot the license plate of Claire's car? It says "STARS"..and the newscaster is the same reporter from Revelations 1. Also, everyone believes that it means Alex has successfully transferred her conscious into Natalia. I assume it means both Natalia and "Dark Natalia" are living inside the body now.

The first time I played against
Alex I unloaded all of my ammo into her without realizing that I need to shoot the orange guts. After I ran out of ammo I was running circles around the room and through gas waiting for more ammo to respawn. All of the ammo that respawned was magnum ammo, a gun that I swapped out for an assault rifle before the boss fight, I had no choice but to restart the fight. A little nerve wracking but I got her in the corner and was able to knock her over and knife her neck like raw chicken.

I enjoyed the game, after awhile I grew accustomed to switching characters, I really did want online co-op though.

After ages of fussing around I've finally got my Gamecube controllers working with Rev2 on PC. Can't wait to not have to grind as much :p

Also, dang I was looking up unlock guides and Cyper's just the hologram? I was hoping for some ultra cool secret character, but oh well her katana sounds cool.

Yeah, sadly he's just the green dude. What I wouldn't give for the super secret melee only character to have been Tofu. Come on Capcom, it can't be too hard to have made him, he's a box and a hat and you've already got Hunks voice in the game.

Going off early footage, I assumed I'd dislike Moira. Happy that wasn't the case, one of the few new characters introduced in Resident Evil I'd enjoy seeing more out of.

Does anyone know how to remap keys for the second controller on PC? It still works ok but the camera keeps spinning cuz it's using the wrong buttons.

Yeah, ah well. :/ Do you reckon it's a dude? I think it's a woman (with a flattish chest). idk. It would be much cooler if it was the actual Red Queen instead.

Cypher is probably genderless in nature, being a hologram and all. But it is hard to not associate it as a male due to its voice being that. It being the Red Queen would have been a nice idea, I can agree with that.

Patch boosted the PS4 framerate enough for me to be okay with it. Chapter 3 so far has been the best one for me. Some great environments, dialogue, and fights. Game has been well worth the price of admission.

I gotta disagree.
She'll need to do more than transfer her mind and bring some people to an island to become a memorable villain in my eyes.

Well I mean,
she did torture and kill countless people for her research, then created a sick game to find a host, horribly killed all the female island inhabitants and caused all the males to turn into monsters for her game and to cover her tracks. But I mean, it's very likely she'll come back at some point so I guess the point is moot.

Oh and going on a bit of a tangent, (RER1+2 spoilers)
was responsible for the death of every single character in the game apart from the main four. :/ I mean, I wasn't a fan of the Raymond and Parker death fakeouts in the first game, but it would be nice to have a middle ground!

His voice commands makes him sound like a male.

Oh right, duh. I haven't unlocked him yet I just thought he was a woman from the vestibule.

Sigh, Revelations 3 then ;)

Just when I thought I had seen all the nightmare fuel this game has to offer, I encounter this in Raid. I'll just post the links since the character I'm using is a spoiler:

When should one play the 2 extra episodes?

Like from what Ive read The Struggle fits in after Claire's ch 4 episode but before Barrys. Should I play it that way?

What about Little Miss? That take place in the 6th month gap?

Better to play them after finishing the campaign. Moira's spoils the final boss fight.

Just got this on steam. Is there a reason the game launches looking like shit and won't let you access any options until you are in game and then crashes when you try and change the resolution?

Like, does it not support 16:10 resolutions or something even though it gives me the option?

edit: Every time I pick 1680x1050 it says "unsupported function" or "ERR" something. Seems all the other resolutions work. Tried it both full screen and windowed. I kinda wanted to play with kb+m but I guess the game wants to force me to play on my TV? Unless 1080p is unsupported.

I'm just picky. Sure were there for the aftermath, but I would have needed to see the during to really cement the status.

It does support 1680x1050 - that's the resolution I'm playing it at. I had the same problem that after first launching the game it started in low-resolution, with everything set to mid-low setting (no AA, low shadows etc.). But I didn't have any problems with setting graphic options properly.

Eventualy found a solution. Went straight to the ini instead of doing it in game. I tried at least 5 times in game and it crashed each one, the ini worked fine though. Also switched the aspect ratio to 16:10 to get rid of the black bards but it does mess up mouse use on the menus a bit.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
So a couple things I've learned in my Raid journey, might be helpful to some of you dudes...

RE5 Executioner
has a vulnerability. At first I thought this relentless cunt (a term of endearment, I love this big guy) could only be stopped momentarily for a melee with enough headshots, but you can actually stagger him with belly/nut shots! lol. This is great for long range guns, where you don't want to chance getting close. The damage seems to be pretty much the same for the head or nut shots... so no compromise. Especially if you don't have a character set up to take advantage of melee stuns.

Napads... man everyone probably knows this already (but I've been playing them wrong). These guys are really easy. Let them try and ground smash, and then just run behind them and knife. Their weak spot is the uncovered section on their back, but their back in general, you can just knife to stun them. Also, when they're charging up that aggro attack and beating on their chest for 10 seconds, you can just walk behind them... they don't stop or even turn to face you. It's basically a free kill when they do that,

Saves so much ammo,

Aw yiss. Great impressions. :)

To answer your questions:
A note in the game mentions it will take about six months for the copy of Alex's mind to overtake Natalia's. It was going to happen either way. The bad ending merely hastened it by causing the real Natalia to go numb. The extra episode, Little Miss, shows what goes on in Natalia's mind. And re: Sniper Claire in Raid, just beat Gauntlet VIII on Normal. The campaign part is just the four episodes.

Sorry if answered elsewhere, but has anyone else been experiencing issues connecting with RE.net (on PS4)? Always says it's not available whenever I'm in Raid Mode. *keeps on pouring more hours into it*

I was thinking earlier about how the Revelations games can turn into a fully-fledged side RE series. Capcom tried it when they made the Outbreak and the Chronicle games into a series but both had sequels do badly financially and thus ending their respective series. This doesn't seem to be the case with Rev 2 (Reception has been good with audience, not too sure about the financial state, but I'm assuming good enough?)
and since the Revelations series tends to star forgotten characters/characters who haven't been protagonists for a long time, I would love to have Rebecca in a hypothetical Revelations 3.

Yes! Would be nice if Capcom goes through with their plan of making Revelations the sub-series catered to those that love the classic games, while the numbered entries are more action-oriented.

Gotta give the writers/VAs credits for making "fuck technology" "yeah, fuck it right up the ass!" a genuine heartfelt father/daughter moment. Moira's VA especially kills it in that scene. She's cursing and she's happy and she's on the verge of tears, all at the same time. It's great.

reposting since no one answered yesterday

Does anyone know if the pc split screen also offsets and shrinks the screens too? I imagine it's a resource thing on consoles and can't imagine the pc version having that

I loved that and the scene on the

I thought it was cringe-inducing as fuck the second Moira opened her mouth. Barry nailed it and then Moira killed the moment. It's the wrong kind of cheese.

I love that scene.
It's perfect because the game has repeatedly established how Moira used to swear to try and annoy her father. But now both father and daughter know that none of the superficial shit matters. Barry shows this by swearing himself (rather than his usual "granny swears") and Moira responds with typical Moira language but an all-new TONE — one of profound relief, happiness and love.

Has anyone done the math on Raid experience points?

Like, is there a guide available for XP multiplier based on level and all that?

I'm trying to maximize XP gains with the other players I'm leveling now.

Yasuhiro Anpo should've been in charge of BIO5 instead of Jun Takeuchi. A lot of the better ideas for that game (Uroboros) came from Anpo anyway.

Hey News Bot, who writes the stories for these games, anyways? Or is it always changing?

I quite like the episodic structure of RER1 and RER2. Any common threads there?

It varies. The series has had a lot of writers and often several on one game, not counting supplemental material writers.

Dai Satō wrote REV1 and REV2, with cooperation from some of CAPCOM's writers and some writers from Sato's own company Storyriders Ltd.
