GTA V patch 1.10 out (PS4) improves/fixes POM

Just like how it was at launch.

I wonder what the people who said it was removed intentionally because Rockstar hate us will have to say.

GTAV Title Update 1.10 (PS4/Xbox One)
Miscellaneous Fixes
  • Fixes graphical issues on PS4 and Xbox One introduced after Title Update 1.08. For details, please see this article. (https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/205228687)
  • Corrects an issue where some players’ character appearances would change periodically
  • Fixes an animation issue where another player aiming on your screen would not play the correct animation

I'm still not noticing an improvement to pop-in and LOD. Tree shadows on the street are popping in literally 2 feet in front of me. :/

That's been an issue since launch and will likely never be improved. POM was the major issue with these last few updates.

Gives credence to the reasoning why RDR is stuck on last-gen consoles, the code is reportedly a mess.
RDR was a mess on PS3, but the Xbox 360 port was a solid. It looked great and ran at a smooth 30 FPS with no dips. And last gen it was easy to port games from 360 to PC....I think R* just didn't care.

PC gamers are low on their priority list

I don't mean a mess in terms of performance. Reportedly, RDR's code is tailored so specifically to the intricacies of the last-gen consoles that it's just a mess, making it a huge endeavour to port it elsewhere.

Hadn't played it with the downgrades but it's really nice to see Rockstar still improving stuff almost six months after launch on the PS4. It's never been perfect technically but the issues never got in the way of the game for me and I still think that even without the recent patches, it's a fantastic technical achievement for Rockstar and the only good GTA since the PS2 games.

Very happy with the game and I recommend it enough to PC gamers, particularly the ones who haven't experienced it yet.

The 'Episodes from San Andreas' should benefit so all the more reason to keep refining this.

Cool, are we having fast turn around times for patches? (with all QA and what not usually deferring them?)
