Everybody was booing activision for trying to bring back GH at the same time harmonix was doing rock band and you know what, I am one of them. However, there's no stopping activision. They want a piece of everybody's pie.
This "first person" guitar thing is the best possible news because now rock band can do it's own thing (which we all want) and guitar hero can be whatever the hell this is trying to be.

This almost seems like an excuse for Activision to kill the studio if it bombs. Alah EA style lol.
As long as rock band stays to the standard roots....it already wins in my book. I don't want to have to think while rocking out. Its a party game for crying out loud. People play it drunk.

You already have god knows how many games with that style, and more songs than you can shake a stick at. At least Activision are trying something new for a change instead of retreading the same old path that led to the genre losing popularity in the first place.

I'm guessing this will be similar to Rocksmith, but with one row for thick string notes and the other for thin string notes? Either 6x2 or 3x2 for notecharts. Hopefully the upcoming media will make this look more enjoyable than it sounds.

We haven't seen a thing about it and it's already terribble, I see.
With there history in the music genre they really could have made the ultimate teaching tool and just blow away rocksmith. But going different doesn't always mean better. I just want a current gen rock band. Along with my 2k songs.
This new guitar hero also throws out all past songs so they also can just resell it to you again (recharted) and make even more money by dlc.
Hopefully they have a legacy mode or something in the game.
One of my guesses for RB4 was they might go to two rows of frets in order to get closer to chord shapes. Interesting that GH is now doing that

I don't think so. I just see it as a way to showcase their new perspective, putting you in front of the audience hence being immersed more. Something akin (while of course limited) to a live concert.

It's just jumping to conclusions to declare it teribble two minutes after you heard about the game from a leak, with barely any real info.
Why not give them the benefit of doubt and let them try something new? (Or at least wait til the official announcement to dump on it)
We aready know we will get RB4 and we don't need two franchises doing the exact same thing like a couple of years ago.

When DJ Hero 2 bombed, they gave them to Nintendo for a while to develop the infamous Sing Party. And if Nintendo doesn't want them, the studio can always work on Call of Duty. With GH: Live they gain experience with games from a first person perspective.

like, literally its there in the post. I never called the game terrible not talked about it in any way beyond my interpretation of the idea that comes to mind when thinking of first person guitar hero with less colored frets by dj hero people
