"Elder Scrolls Online's PS4 & Xbox One client exceeds the 50GB bluray disc size"

The problem with this day 1 patch shit is even if they allow you to preload they dont always allow you to get the damn patch preloaded either

i think MCC was the exception so far this gen(not that it helped that one)

I guess it's not too bad in this case as it's an MMO and you have to be online to play anyway, but I hope this doesn't become a thing for single player games. I wonder if we'll see some games being shipped on 2 Blu-Rays in the future.

So what happens when offline games doesnt fit on a single disc? Aren't these games suppose to work without checking in too?

It's gonna be the norm going forward, games filling up the disc and then requiring downloading the rest of it. 100 gig BD should be there in time for nextgen.

I dont get it.

You pay a sub and you get in game bonuses, like free coins to buy cosmetic items and boosts. Believe you also have some extra benefits given to you if you subscribe to the game.

Like the old days, the games will be printed on multiple discs?

The developer on Fable Legends said it wluld cost too much too print games on multiple discs. And why wasnt this game or Halo MCC on more discs?

For 14.99 a month you get 1500 coins to spend on their cash shop a month, 10% bonus to experience and 10% reduced time on crafting. You also get all DLC included with the sub so you don't have to buy it separate. Though if you cancel your sub you lose access to the DLC.

Their cash shop really needs something interesting on it. Cosmetic stuff is nice and all for the "We're not going P2W!" argument, but it also means I can't justify giving them money because $15 for some mounts/outfits and a minor boost in XP/crafting. They need to sell things like bag/bank size increases.

So this is why you just buy this digital and preload it a few days before. Physical copies of MMOs are beyond useless.

Holy shit I forgot I already own the PC version of this game, haven't played it since it released back then...

You get a few free things and bonuses every month I think

Sub $15 (ESO Plus) =
1500 Crowns a month (equivent to about $15 in the item shop)
10% XP boost
All future expansions free so long as you are subscribed (need to be paid for if not a subscriber)

Then don't pay the $14.99 a month. Just play the game and if something interesting shows up on the cash shop, spend money and buy it which will probably be less than $14.99. If you don't sub and just buy the DLC (probably 20-30 a pop) you get to keep it forever. Subbing just isn't worth it right now in most peoples opinions.

More inventory space is a solid idea. Subscription membership isn't very good value right now and won't be for a while as there simply isn't any DLC content out yet. The first one slated for release is Orsinium shortly after the console launch. The value will increase over time as more DLC areas are added. And then you could also use the monthly funds you get from the subscription to permanently purchase certain DLC.

I'd rather buy the disc and download 15GB instead of 65.

Actually, i'd rather they just put it on two disc.

I dunno if I want to even get the $20 upgrade package now actually.

If it doesnt happen, what about "these won't require you to check in online"? Both Sony and Microsoft said so.

The big questions is, will it be an requirement? I still use my other console offline on a boat. It would destroy the purpose of owning it.

Probably will be. What other option is there?

Everyday the world relies more and more on having an internet connection so not having one will be more and more a fringe case that will be treated as such.

What other option? How about.... An extra disc? GTA 5 was released on 7 DVDs. Wolfenstein had like 4-5 discs on Xbox?

Every single game I preloaded had the patch preloaded as well. (I have a PS4)

The consoles don't require you to be online to play a game, but that doesn't stop publishers from releasing games in a "requires online" fashion. Either through digital only, requiring you to download content like ESO, or through the structure of the game itself.

My heart goes out to those with a data cap.

Thank God I'm not one of them.

Yeah, I'm glad I don't have data caps too.

Heck, here's the data usage of JUST our Xbox One in our bedroom (from a week ago).

This doesn't include the Xbox/Playstation hardware in the living room, 3 gaming PCs, multiple smartphones, my laptop, or the Wii U......lol

I know for a fact that my daughter's room and Netflix streaming the Living room has to add a ton on top of that.
