To me I just think 20nm is not up to it for any reasonably high performance part. If AMD or Nvidia could make 20nm chips, even for laptop GPUs, they would as it would give them a power usage advantage in a segment that is power sensitive and that would give them a competitive edge. That neither company has done it suggests the node is not capable, even for the smallest dies.
That is not to say it is impossible but at this stage it seems like both Sony and MS would be better off waiting until the 14nm nodes start producing and then we might see a slim revision from both manufacturers.

When is the Windows 10 update coming for Xbox One? I could see sales increasing quite a bit in America if you can use Windows apps, especially emulators.
That being said, I'm still not sure if it would be enough to compete against a $299 PS4 though, which I'm confident that it will happen around August or September.

We won't know really until next week with Sonys report. However, if they are down YoY it's not a massive thing as they're still the same price as they were from the start, so revenue won't be hit bad like we see here.

Yes. I agree with this also. It will keep them on their toes and make them make better games (and they do deserve the kicking). It shouldn't be that they aren't even allowed to try though. As long as they make good games shouldn't that be enough? As gamers shouldn't we put the games first and not the company? If you follow some people they should stop making games altogether because how dare they even TRY. That's stupid to me.

I don't for a second believe that MS abandoning Xbox is something that will happen anytime soon, but it will be interesting to see where MS goes from here.
The strategy from MS seems to have been quite obvious from the beginning, when they were happy for the OG Xbox to lose money and have a lower install base so that the name would be more recognizable when its successor came around. Whilst the 360 didn't lose huge amounts of money like the the original did, I would imagine that MS had high hopes that XB1 would be both profitable and a big seller so as to get their software at the center of as many people's living rooms as possible.
The numbers we're seeing so far suggest that not only has that not happened, but that it's looking more and more likely that they won't get anywhere near that for the rest of this generation.
So what do MS do now? Do they go long term and start again, learning from hindsight? Or do they just play it one generation at a time and see where they end up 5 or 6 years from now?
Either way, it's not ideal.

If you are clear that this is just a guess, and based on various elements you "think" you have deduced based on some publicly available info, might as well post your theory imo. At best, it could be a clever find, and at worst it'll give people a good chuckle.
At some point previously you have really tiptoed the line of possibly being an Insider, but as long as you make it clear it's guesswork (educated or not), it should be fine.

You do realise that it took Sony nearly an entire generation, cost them nearly half their user base and cost them an insane amount of funds to get back in the good graces of the community?
So why should all be forgiven for Microsoft 2 years removed from them trying to do things far more heinous than anything Sony tried to pull?
My guess is that if CoD really doesn't have an exclu deal with MS anymore, they are more likely to go platform Agnostic. But I guess we'll see, the rumor is that Sony indeed picked up the tab (and I can't imagine why with already Battlefront and possibly MGS V in the fall). :shrug:

1) Junior members can't post threads for exactly the reason that they don't post dumb threads.
2) Don't ask someone else to circumvent this forum rule for you, that is a good way to lose posting privileges, and for the person starting the thread on your behalf to lose thread starting privileges.
3) Don't derail threads with faux insider information. Either pick an appropriate thread to post it in, or contact a mod if you are unsure (which I see you have now done).
