The Witcher 3: Is your system ready - Nvidia official system requirements

Nice thanks.

I should be right on the edge of fine then. And this is with in game AA maxed he said?

Playing at 4K I have no problem dropping down to 2xMSAA if it means I can maintain 30fps.

Many of my games in GeForce Experience recommend 1440p, but they all still maintain 30+fps at 4K. Hoping this is the case here.

Pumped to test this out.

MSAA isn't supported, so presumably this is with FXAA / SMAA / etc only, no hardware AA.

GTX 980 here, it is my first Nvidia card, i'd like to know, is there a way to lock the frame rate to 45fps? via nvidia panel or something else cause i don't like drops from 60 to 40

You could always use adaptive vsync. In fact, you could change your refresh rate to 50 Hz, that might help as well.

No, i've not a Gsync monitor, why does it looks horrible?

The timing of the frames looks odd. You need to be at your refresh rate or at someting that goes into it. At 60 hz and 60 fps, every refresh you have a new frame. At 60 hz and 30 fps, every second refresh you have a new frame. At 45 it'll bounce between and a new frame every 1, then 2, then 1, then 2, repeating. It creates a judder effect that's pretty distracting.

Understood, so i guess the way to go is either 30fps or 60fps

So, any idea how this system might do locked at 30 FPS?

i5 2500k @ 3.30GHz

8 GB RAM

Windows 7 64 bits

GeForce GTX 570

I'd like to know if I'll be able to play the game in a decent condition since buying a new GPU is sadly not a possibility right now.

Good to see my rig will likely run 60@1440p. 970's are OC'd well beyond stock 980 levels. I will expect some drops though but I never expected to not run this well on a 6 core SLI rig.

Asus GTX 780DCII OC, i7 3770k SSD and 16GB ram on a 1440p display.

as long as I get 30fps with as much as possible on, I'm happy.

Yeah going to fool around with some overclocking on my 970FTWs and and see if I can get them to at least 980 levels.

Just want a solid 30fps (with occasional dips) ultra, gameworks, and 4K. Anything at that level or better and I will be more than happy.

My body and
Titan X
are ready. Shame my Acer monitor will ruin all dark scenes, still waiting for their crappy Customer service to arrange a swap.

I wouldn't like to speculate with a not-final build. But it stands to reason that a 970 OC'd to 980 speeds would be capable of hitting the recommendation in my chart.

Seeing as I just got my 970 eight days ago this pleases me. Who knows when I'll actually get to playing TW3 though since I'm going to finally play through the first two beforehand.

Your card doesn't meet the minimum requirements of a 660 with 2GB of VRAM I'm afraid... Unless your 570 does have 2GB of VRAM then it might be fine. Also, y u no OC that 2500k? Is it pre-built with the BIOS locked?

Hoping my OC'd 2500k(4,3Ghz) is enough for this. Being CPU bound would be really sad D:
To clarify, i have a 970, so no worries there.

I have a feeling that outside of Physx being CPU bound the minimum of a 2500k might be an exaggeration seeing as its counterpart is listed as the Phenom II X4 940 which at stock the 2500k runs circles around IIRC.

My 970 has never been my concern, it's my i5-2500 I worry won't be able to keep up.

Got an I3-3220 and got the same worry but seems likely I'll be able to do High and 1080p no problem, which I'm happy with but thinking I might be able to do Uber at 30fps but gonna see how it runs for the first hour or so before deciding.

Aight, overclocked my GTX 970. I think it's stable. Let's do this.

at what point does an overclocked 970 reach stock 980 levels of performance?

i have my gigabyte 970 g1 stable at about 1555-1575mhz core with about 7500 on the memory

mostly prefer to keep it at ~1540mhz or so with no voltage increase though

Hope my overclocked 780 ti and i7 3770 will hold up well here.
Would love to have all the bells and whistles on and still manage 60fps with a few compromises to AA and Shadows maybe.

Hoping nVidia releases a performance guide similar to GTA IV to identify the most demanding features.

Yeah I'm not sure. I was considering upgrading but at this point I want to hold off till the Skylake Intel CPUs come out.

All I really want to know is what my set up can do at 60FPS.

After that, I can worry about maxing it out a year or two from now when I do my second playthrough with all the DLC out.

I'd consider locking it to 30FPS if it makes a huge difference but I've found locking a game to 30 can be a bit awkward depending on the game. Sometimes I wish games would just have that option built in.

I think people should take into consideration that those benchmarks are all from a rig with a 5960k. Assuming the game uses CPU scaling correctly, that could make a huge difference.

I seriously doubt it will have a huge impact.
Till now even an i5 wasn't outperformed (significantly enough) by an i7 in gaming . An i7 is for sure better, do not get me wrong but in general better performing cores >> then number cores. At least for gaming atm. Mantle changed that and I am confident that dx12 will change that too. But for the witcher 3 ... it may be a game changer ... but I somehow doubt it. Also it runs on the consconsoles CPUs and granted they have 6 cores that can be utilized for games (afaik) but they are still pretty weak as far as I understand.

As a fellow OC'ed 2500K owner (4.4 Ghz here) I'd also like to know this.

My gut feeling says we should be just fine though.

Whenever you release benchmarks, can you please also post older gpu generations? I don't want to buy a 9xx

not sure if I should upgrade from 780ti to titan x, the ultra screens in the review thread don't seem to be worth it.

I sucked six dicks to get this tag.
Got a used r280 from a friend and a half dead r270x.

I'm scared for the results(especially since amd) but it'll be a interesting Tuesday.

That I did, though I have a 5820k that I OC, which I took into consideration.

Welp. Hopefully some overclocking and 720p will get me Uber settings w/ GameWorks.

Wait, I'm not even going to play this until the inevitable enhanced edition in a year or so.

What GPU do you have? '720p' will be a blurry mess, you might as smudge Vaseline in your eyes.

780Ti is still comparable to a stock 970 which will be handle the game on 'uber'. Not to mention AMD are on the cusp of releasing their next gen cards, with a 390x reportedly being better than a Titan X.
