Rumor: Konami to clarify on fallout with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima

Antonio Fucito of Italian site multiplayer.it attended a Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain press event in Los Angeles that Konami told him details on the debacle with Hideo Kojima would be revealed soon. Fucito today tweeted, “Riguardo Kojima, Konami ha risposto che farà chiarezza prossimamente. Nel gioco comunque è presente ovunque, dai titoli ai poster!”

The text roughly translates to, “About Kojima, Konami said that will be cleared up soon. In the game, however, [Kojima] is present everywhere, from the credits to the poster!”

For their sake, I hope they realize nearly every one is on Kojima's side, and anything attempting to slander him, make themselves look like they were in the right or even attempt to dig UP from the hole they're in, is only going to push them deeper into the Earth. I expect a fuckton of humble pie to be eaten.

I doubt we'll ever get the full picture of what happened as Konami will no doubt omit the parts that show that this whole mess is (at the very least partially) their fault.

Kojima is going to reveal himself as the real new CEO of Konami and announce that the Silent Hills cancellation is just marketing for the game and will re-reveal it at E3.

You know, I've never been one to jump onto hating on a developer/publisher. I understand they are all trying to make a business work, so I never take it too hard. Ubisoft? Broken games happen, they are overly ambitious at times, whatever. EA? They are trying to get better and everyone makes mistakes.

But Konami. Fucking Konami. I hate them.

Killed my most anticipated game of all time.

Never again.

I'm interested in the story here. I'd totally love to read a book about the making of MGS V and/or Kojima's final years at Konami.

Konami bullshit: "Konami and Hideo Kojima had some disagreements about the direction of several Konami franchises including 'Metal Gear', so the two parties made a mutual decision to part ways".

Reality: Konami want to fuck up Metal Gear so Kojima gave them an ultimatum that resulted in his departure.

It'll be cleared up when the game releases, where it is revealed that it was all a work, and skull face renames XOF to "Konami" which reveals that we were just living in a world where Kojima and Konami mirrored the games events in the real world

And it ends with a Silent Hills trailer and after the date displays on screen "Fall 2016" Metal Gear Solid 6 fades in on top of "Silent Hills"

Norman Reedus takes off his face transplanted mask and it turns out it's Ocelot and says "this time, the patriots have invaded Konami...yes they have no idea our true plan was to fire Kojima...yes yes Del Toro has been taken care of. They have no idea that HE was the superior one after all. Ha Ha Ha...Thank you very much, Satoshi Sakamoto-San"
