Fallout 3 was the pinnacle of graphical prowess when it released. It's sad to see how far Bethesda has fallen.

I think I'm just at the point where I think graphics of AAA games look good no matter what, when the art direction is up to par. And I trust that a Fallout game will have great art direction.

I think this screenshot looks great and I can't wait to see it in motion, plus I'm sure it'll improve by launch, as all games do.

Gamebryo again. Considering the current trend of shipping broken games, I have zero confidence of this being playable at launch. It doesn't look like Boston though.

Video games in general look unrealistic and impossible. Just enjoy the fact that Fallout 4 is going to be announced in under half an hour! One of the most anticipated games ever! Come on people! pls

No Obsidian then?
*sigh, hope you guys enjoy the game. Disappointment and realization after 100 hours in Skyrim taught me to not buy Bethesda game ever the first year of its release.

Why were you expecting Obsidian?

It has been known for a while that this was a Bethesda game.

oh, this was your way to get a snarky comment in.

bethesda need to up their game after new vegas and witcher 3, though

Why should they step it up from their point of view? CD Projekt was finally able to tap into the mainstream with The Witcher 3 and rightfully so, but does the general public care all that much about hardcore crpg foundation?

Skyrim sold 20+ million copies and you are as good as the last game you released, so they can be assured of selling at least half of that with Fallout 4. Given how few AAA wrpg are being released, I just don't see why the masses would give skip the game for failing to meet some standard. :p If anything, gamers will probably be more critical of the character models / animations since they generally look great in W3. I could also see criticism directed toward the lack of depth from the Bethesda open world formula, but nothing that will sink them.

Here's hoping that the similarity of the consoles means an end to any absolutely appalling versions. A friend asked to borrow Skyrim on PS3 a while back. I said no because I couldn't do that to them.

You do realize that Gamebyro isn't the part that fucks it up for everyone?

That said I kinda agree. It'll need fan patches and mods to make it just right.

do you think the characters will at least have different builds, heights and animations. or are we talking yet another world full of walking rigid storefront mannequins?

place your bets!

This game will be fun and I'll buy it day one, but honestly the thing that gets me the most excited is the fact that this means we're that much closer to Elder Scrolls 6.

Guys, in anticipation for this I've been willing to play both PS3 iterations of Fallout, how do they hold up today? (after patches and such).
I replayed New Vegas about a year ago.It ran fine in the beginning for me, but the more I played itthe worse the fps drops and the crashing became. There were certain areas where the frames dropped so low that I couldn't even exit the game to turn off my PS3. If your going to play it, at least do it on the 360.

Yes, can't wait to see the teaser. Loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

I'm happy the screenshots aren't bullshots but are actually representative of what the game will look like. Graphics look fine, please let it have a locked 30 fps on consoles.

Man, I can't wait for this reveal. I have so many fond memories of playing 3. I just got 3 on PC not so long ago and it looks so much better than console versions. I will play the shit out of that and new vegas this weekend to keep the hype.

Graphics whinning is annoying, nobody thinks of graphical apex when they think of fallout.

Either way, beth can literally shit in case and call it fallout 4, I will still buy it. Its the one game where I get to splurge.

The only thing that could cause me any type of disappointment right now is if they said they're using that same old, tired-ass engine. I really don't want the game to be as stiff, buggy, and unsophisticated as their last efforts.
