Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

What's the reason people think this will be released at E3?
It's because of the graphical quality and engine, isn't it lol.

Technical/graphical bitching aside (it really doesn't look like a current gen only title should/could look), even the atmosphere conveyed in that trailer didn't grasp me. Hm, i gotta say im disappointed so far.

it's not like there's a ton of terrific looking open world RPGs to compare it to. There's, what, Dragon Age inquisition and The Witcher 3?

From the Bethesda press release,

Fallout 4 is being developed for Xbox One, PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system and PC by award-winning Bethesda Game Studios® under the direction of Todd Howard. This eagerly-awaited game is the follow up to the 2008 ‘Game of the Year’, Fallout® 3, and the first title from the world-renowned studio since the release of their global phenomenon and 2011 ‘Game of the Year’, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®.

“We know what this game means to everyone,” said Game Director, Todd Howard, “The time and technology have allowed us to be more ambitious than ever. We’ve never been more excited about a game, and we can’t wait to share it.”

To me, it just makes character creation more limited.

And the benefits of having a voiced PC usually comes when you have a super cinematic game, which Bethesda games have never been. So all you'll end up with is more limited writing due to having the voice acting dependency. And its not like Bethesda games have brilliant writing to start out with anyway.

See all this is true and a fear of mine, I'll just have to wait to find out. I want a voiced protagonist but only if speaking scenes are fucking animated properly to show some emotion, my dream has always been to have a Bethesda game with talking sequences like say Far Cry 3+. So everything is kept in first person but "cutscenes" can finally have some emotion displayed by the characters. But, if it's just the typical Bethesda dude sits or stands straights and mouths to you and you mouth back then I'm less thrilled. Also, as you say it could potentially mean less writing due to more voices.

However, I'll say that the last point probably isn't too much of a concern. Remember, all quest NPC's are fully voiced in the game so adding the player's voice isn't really going to slow things down much further. The switch to fully voiced NPC's are what resulted in the diminishing of the amount of writing in open world RPG's, the added player voice won't do that.

People called Romanes they go the house?
Hopefully the VA doesn't mean you're limited to one specific protagonist.

That could be really limiting to a lot of aspects that past games offered regarding customization of 'your' character and the like.

double jump

you haven't lived until a random little kid ask you "how do you make love".
Just give me some halfway decent ethnic hairstyles and no game/story breaking bugs and I'll be happy.

I'm asking for a miracle I know.

edit: just noticed the rain in one shot. Hopefully they can pull off some really cool storms and stuff.

I'm loving how much more colourful this game is looking. Some parts reminds me of RAGE in terms of the colour palette, which was one of that game's strengths imo.

Wow what a great trailer, still images are just that still, in motion the game looks fantastic and man is it so much more colorful then Fallout 3. This trailer was great, but seriously I NEED A RELEASE DATE BETHESDA!

Game looks great, but the Summerish and desert atmosphere is not really an interest of mine. I want more nature and small towns, rather than large cities.

That said, please put me on the hype train!

Definitely looks like the next minor evolution of gamebryo->creation engine. Materials look better at a glance at least.

mixed feelings about the graphics.
Loved some of the environment shots halfway through, some parts looked very rough.

Liked the trailer overall though and had more content than i had hoped for.

Meh. I don't see the hype. This must be similar to people who crave Half Life 3. Because you played the original games and are hoping for a new installment you become bias in your criticism towards it.

The game doesn't look good visually. Maybe the gameplay will be amazing but honestly this looks like a PS3 game.

What I expected. You can't expect amazing visuals from Bethesda... But the experience will be spectacular.

Hyped. Ready for this.

The visuals in Oblivion and Skyrim were each incredibly impressive when they were first announced. This...is not.

I'll probably still be getting this, but mainly because I'll want something to tide me over until Elder Scrolls 6.

Yeah as much as I love Fallout, can't say my emotions jumped in any way when I watched this. Looks just like the same old stuff.
