So, I was listening to the PS Nation Podcast (Episode 427: PrE3) and at 49 minutes in, Stewart Gilray (of Just Add Water) heavily implied that Mark Cerny's team (the team that built Knack?) might be the team finishing development on the The Last Guardian.

E3 hype through the roof! Sadly since this has sorta gotten in the paper it won't reach KH3 level of shock if it does get announced - but still it'll be up there.

I kind of understand that, like getting hyped by the big conference threads when usually being part of a thread is entirely more entertaining than just watching the conference itself. The specific joining a hype train for a game you're not interested in is a bit odd though, but I sorta see the appeal.

the funny thing about this is that it was originally TEAM ICO devs that were taken to help make Knack in the first place. While TLG was in limbo the team has been moved around working on games like Knack and Rain. So its not quite Cerny's knack team finishing development rather than TEAM ICO going back into "full production" on TLG, as Shu stated last year.

For now, that's enough. You see, last year someone asked Shu if TLG would be at E3 (or some other one maybe) and he flat out said "No, I don't think so."
Here, we've seen IGN post an article, we've seen Japanese media tweeting and posting articles, and now Kojima has retweeted this info.
If nothing else, this will get a response in some way. When IGN said TLG was canceled, Sony was quick to deny it. When asked about it last year, Shu was quick to say "No it won't be at E3, but it is still in development." or something to this effect.
Now? ...Radio silence. This tells me something is coming.
There's a heck of a lot more stuff going on this year. That's for sure. A lot of loose ends seem to be tying up with it, and well, it will be there. I know it.
So uh..update? Is it not there? Can't listen right now and you are the first to say it's not.
They haven't hyped it before based on rumors? Then again, they don't go that in depth. So who knows. Guardian is reputable, but they don't specialize in breaking games news and have never been a source for breaking game news.
I still hope Shu gets out ahead of this and just says NOPE it won't be there.

Rereading that Guardian page, it seems odd to me they would break a big story by this with just a bullet point in a list of games at E3. It doesn't even get its own article?

That's odd. It's 49 minutes for me. It's like literally at 49 minutes on the dot. I can't fathom why you would get it at a different timestamp. Is anyone else not getting it at 49 minutes via the link? I should note, on iTunes it's around the hour mark for me (for whatever reason). Were you listening on iTunes, by any chance?

Cerny's team doesn't necessarily mean it's Cerny doing it.
Still, it's one step closer in getting the darn thing finished up (and ready to release this fall... perhaps).

May be because guardian doesn't break stories based on rumors (and they are not a gaming website to have that kind of incentive)? I think you are reading too much into it.

I have to say... Team ICO did ICO and SotC and those games were absolutely breathtaking.
The fact that TLG is being finished by Cerby's team or Santa Monica or whoever makes me a little uneasy...
I want Ueda's game, completely unfiltered and unchanged.
Maybe if That Game Company was doing it I would sleep better.
