It's okay when Sony does it.
we really doing this?
Waiting for someone to compare this to Tomb Raider.

"real partnership"
lol implying other partnerships are fake.
Yes, I would say it's okay when a game is saved from development purgatory rather than just postponed on certain platforms for no reason. It's okay when Sony does it.
I wonder how much Sony paid Capcom to keep SFV away from the Xbox One. I guess we will never know.
It is, not believing that "helping to publish bs"
in case of Titanfall it actually makes sense, its a new ip and all. But when established big ip like street fighter suddenly need help to get published. Yeah please.

Isn't really much to compare. This is lifetime, Tomb Raider is timed, well according to MS it is anyway.we really doing this?

That's why it's also coming to PC. Right.
Welp
SF can be a big IP all it wants, it doesn't stop Capcom from being in a kinda dire situationIt is, not believing that "helping to publish bs"

Diddn't DR3 also come to PC after Microsoft supposedly funded development for that Capcom exclusive?
For months before the reveal, Ono had tweeted that Capcom suits thought SFV wasn't worth funding. He complained a lot and tried to get fan support. The story given by Capcom+Sony seems pretty likely. It is, not believing that "helping to publish bs"

To be honest, MS poaching Dead Rising and Tomb Raider leaves me with very little sympathy for the XB1 platform in general.

Would you rather see Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC, or no Street Fighter V at all?
Im am really intersted as to why Capcom couldnt afford a new SF. Seems like they were releasing SF4 left and right.
Considering the number of physical releases for the iterations of SFIV, I can't take the idea that there was no the budget for a new Street Fighter after IV at face value. Immediately in 2013? Sure, but this is a release that's two to three calendar years later. If this were a new, unproven IP, I could absolutely understand it. The idea that a publisher wouldn't have the resources to publish one of it's most popular IPs is just odd.
Look at how Japanese Publishers struggled with AAA last gen.
They're not even releasing new games for PS4/XBO with some exceptions. That should be enough to tell you Street Fighter 5 might not have even existed if Sony didn't help.
Good.

As far as fighting games go, there are tangible benefits to exclusivity. An unified online community, not having to worry about differences between ports that affect frame delays, etc.I understand the business realities of these 3rd party exclusive deals, but I will not understand why any gamer that isn't an entrenched brand loyalist would be happy that a different platform is denied access to a game.
He also says no Ultra Street Fighter 4 for next gen, but we all saw how that turned out.
SFV was in development for Xbone?
We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run.

I thought they made this plainly clear at the PSX reveal
I know it was over ten years ago, but didn't Capcom say the same thing about RE4?
I know, bad analogy. The PS4 is a successful platform. The GameCube was not.
It would have been sooner or later. Because they would have made it eventually. Sony's money sped that process up and made it exclusive.
Maybe that some are "unprecedented.""real partnership"

I view it as someone that enjoys the more competitive side, yeah. What I meant about frame delay is input lag, not online lag from the netcode, which was a big issue last gen since PS3 ports of Capcom fighters were inferior to the 360 ones as far as competitive play goes. Having everyone play together and not having to worry about input lag since there's just one platform Capcom has to worry about is an advantage to me.There will be a unified online community however the game is releasing on PC. There will be cross-platform play, which is the best part of this deal, but I imagine that exacerbates your frame delay, port difference issues. Maybe the hardcore fighting community is really excited that the game isn't coming to Xbox One, I definitely am not one to speak for them.
This is what I don't understand. Is the series not doing well or something?I'm still concerned that Capcom didn't even want to fund SFV themselves.
Didn't everyone already know this?
Good.

Some people were in massive denial.

Street Fighter 4 was expensive. It was about a million dollars to develop each individual character for SF4, IIRC, and this is completely separate from the overarching game - for Skullgirls, it was between 100,000 and 200,000 per character, but they're a much smaller studio and lived off ramen to do it.
