No, Mikami said that, and then Capcom went over his head for the reason you've already pointed out.I know it was over ten years ago, but didn't Capcom say the same thing about RE4?
I know, bad analogy. The PS4 is a successful platform. The GameCube was not.
Killer Instinct & Mortal Kombat say hi.
Eta: replied to wrong post somehow.

some still are

Some people thought there would be a "Super Street Fighter V" that would come to Xbox.
We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run
Capcom isn't
No, it's because that Capcom has very low funds. Making brand new games are more costly than you realize, especially for something like fighting games.
Capcom isn't. Most of their stuff seems to be remasters now.
I know its the wrong post, but I have to ask who they are saying hi to.
I think its more Capcom not doing well. Their out put so far this gen on consoles has been mostly remasters or exclusives.
Well that ain't good. And I was wondering what was going on with deep down. It's more on Capcom. I haven't followed it very closely but I recall Ono saying a lot of stuff about not getting enough of a budget from them and stuff like that, plus the company in general has been having a history lately(DR3, SF5, Deep Down, Monster Hunter).
Deep Down is like 2 years late because Capcom has been struggling with their new engine. The only big console game they released this generation was DR3 which had MS backing, everything else is a combination of mobile, Monhun, remasters and small titles like StriderWell that ain't good. And I was wondering what was going on with deep down.
What's the big deal?
The franchise was practically dead until Sony stepped in and funded the game.
I call bullshit.
This freaking Capcom of all companies.
LMAFO Damn, I forgot about this!
USF4 wasn't a big seller either AFAIK, so they are unsure. It's more on Capcom. I haven't followed it very closely but I recall Ono saying a lot of stuff about not getting enough of a budget from them and stuff like that, plus the company in general has been having a history lately(DR3, SF5, Deep Down, Monster Hunter).
There still will be... it'll just have an "I" after it...
SFVI im talking about SFVI
This is the big draw here... just dont worry if its not called SFV...
What's the big deal?

so.... just like Tomb Raider
I view it as someone that enjoys the more competitive side, yeah. What I meant about frame delay is input lag, not online lag from the netcode, which was a big issue last gen since PS3 ports of Capcom fighters were inferior to the 360 ones as far as competitive play goes. Having everyone play together and not having to worry about input lag since there's just one platform Capcom has to worry about is an advantage to me.
I'm just saying that there's more to this than just fanboy drivel, there's clear advantages coming out of this deal beyond "I can play it and you can't neener neener"
Yes.
PS for life :3
so.... just like Tomb Raider

As a PC and PS4 owner, this is not good news, not in the least.
If Capcom decided not to fund future instalments of SF given its performance on the PS3, 360, and PC. The series is pretty much fucking done for now that it will only be on the PS4 and PC.
SF5 is getting an Arcade Release right? That will be money for them in Japan too.
LOL What?As a PC and PS4 owner, this is not good news, not in the least.

It was an issue because pretty much every tournament ran 360s so if you wanted to stay competitive you couldn't practice on the PS3 since that would affect your execution. Most pro players played online on the 360 so people in NA/JP could get to actually play against them online, and so on. PC doesn't have to worry about input lag so all Capcom has to do is make sure the PS4 version plays perfectly and we're golden.I understand that you were referring to input lag, but I don't understand why input lag differences between PS3 and Xbox 360 was such a major concern when anyone you'd be fighting against would be on the same platform dealing with the same input lag. I'd think the cross platform play between PC and PS4, considering that there isn't one platform, there are two, would worry you far more when it comes to potential advantages that result from port differences.
Honestly, the deal doesn't anger me. The business end is what it is and I have no desire at all to ever own an Xbox One but blatant platform cheerleading like:
bothers me. Let the execs. pop open the champagne bottles over these 3rd party exclusives.

I wonder how much Sony paid Capcom to keep SFV away from the Xbox One. I guess we will never know.
People say it won't, but it really should, if only for it to be thoroughly tested balance-wise. Last time Capcom put out a major fighter without an arcade release was SFxT...

Well yeah.
Also people you guys need to know that Capcom isn't doing too well at the moment. Mainly because the amount of cash they spent on making new IPs last generation, which was actually a lot. Lost planet, Dead Rising, Dragon's Dogma, Asura's Wrath, Dark Void. And they had some insane numbers they wanted to hit for some of those games. So Street Fighter being on one console and PC (which Japan releases they can make money at now all of a sudden.) makes sense.
Not to mention whatever amount of money they poured into Deep Down, because who the fuck knows.

Is this a joke? What's the big deal?
The franchise was practically dead until Sony stepped in and funded the game.
Mainly because people still refuse to believe it, including in this thread. Why did this need to be re-iterated? We already knew how the deal worked.
Case in point. That's like saying Capcom doesn't want money.
Where have you been the past few years? Capcom is most definitely run by idiotsIt still doesn't make much sense, unless Capcom is run by idiots.
Nintendo vs. Capcom would be a swell consolation prize
just saying!
I call bullshit.
This freaking Capcom of all companies.
Not quite.
Somewhere between Tomb Raider and Titanfall is more accurate.
Titanfall was about to be cancelled by EA. MS came in, funded completion in exchange for exclusivity.
Tomb Raider was a moneyhat to have timed exclusivity and marketing to keep it off PlayStation for a bit.
Street Fighter is in between. Street Fighter was going to EVENTUALLY happen and be multiplat. Sony came in and funded to speed up development in exchange for exclusivity.
Where have you been the past few years? Capcom is most definitely run by idiots
Also fighting games are not cheap to develop. Not in the slightest.
It still doesn't make much sense, unless Capcom is run by idiots.
Ok, so the company is having financial trouble, so they decide to not fund the one game that costs less than all the others to develop and it's already a proven franchise where each new entry also outsolds the numbers from other franchises, not to mention that they could milk it with re-releases.
Or even, if they felt like making next gen versions of the entire cast would be too costly they could go for the KI route, where they make a few at a time and iterate, so they could spent less on the initial release and let the success of the game drive post content updates.
Not saying that they should've passed on the deal with sony, but I doubt they would never make this game without it, again, unless they are really stupid.
The game was confirmed in development like a year and a half before the announcement, in that time Tomb Raider DE out came for both current gen consoles. The first time the game showed up there was no mention of platforms and it's confirmed the deal is just timed exclusivity. Also I think Kagari confirmed the game wasn't exclusive from the start. Not trying to call you out, but are we 100% on that? Was TR announced for PS4, but then pulled? I'm thinking TR was closer to the Titanfall scenario.
Don't worry. MS will get Tekken X Street Fighter.
