This thing needs more USB ports desperately. Do you hear me Sony? Keyboard, Headset, Controller, USB stick and external HDD fighting at these two little USB ports is pretty bad!

In this day and age, I don't see it. Actually I see them cutting a USB port along the way.

Hubs work, right?

Early adopters rewarded with luxe piano black glossy goodness.

Probably the best I've seen. Every other 'integrated into the design' hub sticks out at the bottom.

Also, 10% lighter? This thing barely weighs now.
I could hit a cat with the new lighter PS4 and it would do nothing to it...joking

Will be legit shock, when we get a slim version.

Probably smaller heat sink parts and thinner plastics used.
The APU is not getting a die shrink as yet.
Just like non-die shrink revisions of past, this will be a cost cutting downgrade.
First hardware release are usually built with tanks to walls parts.

You will need to wait for the 'slim' version to enjoy realistic changes (though Sony still may or may not be downgrade the parts used)

Good thing this is out in Japan this month. I'm planning to buy a PS4 soon, but I'll wait for some comparisons to decide which model I want.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
Assuming you're making most of your game purchases physically, how necessary is it to get a bigger PS4 drive?

I upgraded to 1TB quite early. It depends on how many games you buy, obviously, but 500GB is not much, given that games usually need 25-50GB.

8% less power consumption and the mate finish are well received, but I think I'll wait to the slim version for my second PS4

Disc based games are installed to the hard drive anyways, the disc is only there for license verification. PS4 games run between 20GB (Destiny) to over 50GB (GTA V).

Sprinkle in some apps (YouTube, Spotify), the OS, captured photos and videos, game saves and PSN downloads I wager the stock HDD should fit you around a dozen games.

I have no intention of buying one until uc4 is released but happy to see some improvements, hope by that time a slim version is released.

HDD cover aside, I think Sony reduced BOM a little for new PS4. I kept saying they won't cut the retail price until they lower BOM, to keep it profitable :D

Find it kind of weird they announce a new model with 500 gb, and an old model with 1TB on the same day. Why is the 1TB version still the old model?

I don't think I'd need 1TB. Hoping to get a PS4 at the end of the year. I like the matte finish.

Ohhh matte HDD cover?

I have to admit that the glossy one looks nicer but the almost permanent fingerprints and hairline scratches from even the softest cloth are such a pain in the ass...
