But the real question is: how many of us got the 100,000,000 badge.
My e-peen must know!

That's the number I'm most curious about.

Looking at the stats from drx.pl/steamgame/, there were 26 rooms (from Day 8 to 11) that achieved 100m, so that would mean a max of 390,000 individuals got the badge.

But knowing that a lot of people who already achieved it also joined those rooms to help out, I would make an uneducated guess of around 250k-300k~.

Falcom are pretty small. Before Trails blew up in popularity most of their stuff in Japan did sub-50K and they were fine. What do you mean by less than 50% off sales? Trails has never had a discount on any site for more than 50% off.

Akiba isn't Falcom.

Hmm, perhaps English failed me, ah, yes, I mean that game was rarely sold with more than 50% off if ever. So their margin per copy sold is higher.

Akiba isn't falcom ofc.

Project CARS 2 announced

With over 10 years of heritage and pedigree making some of the world’s most memorable and successful racing franchises – such as GTR, Need For Speed, and Test Drive – Slightly Mad Studios once again pioneered and innovated in 2015 by launching the critically-acclaimed and best-selling Project CARS; a game wholly funded and created by a passionate community of racing fans from around the world.

With tens of thousands of players testing the game, giving feedback on it, and creating assets for it throughout development, Project CARS has been hailed as a true competitor to long-established stalwarts, and as the market leader in both visual fidelity and technical expertise.

With an existing schedule of ON DEMAND content already underway to continue providing Project CARS with fresh new features, updates, and great things to play with throughout the year, Slightly Mad Studios now turns its attention to the future with the announcement of the continuation of the franchise with Project CARS 2. And once again, the sequel will be created, tested, and ultimately approved by you – the gamers - through the WMD Portal crowd-funding platform.

Building upon the huge success of Project CARS being one of the highest-rated and fastest-selling racing games of this generation, Project CARS 2 continues to expand, innovate, and dominate with...

THE LARGEST TRACK ROSTER EVER - 50 unique locations and 200+ courses including 'loose surface racing' on dirt, gravel, mud, and snow. All will have dynamic time of day and weather allowing you to play anytime, anywhere

THE WIDEST VARIETY OF MOTORSPORTS with 8 different disciplines now including Rallycross, Hillclimbs, and Touge. 200+ cars from over 40 different vehicle classes including never-before-seen Concepts and Banned Race Cars

CO-OP CAREER - Play as the Teammate Driver, Spotter, Driver Swap, or Co-Pilot. More choices, more opportunities, more strategy, greater risks and greater rewards

SEAMLESSLY CONNECTED - Socialize and compete via Online Track Days, have players from around the world take the place of AI-controlled drivers in your solo play, and get news updates on the Driver Network around you

PRO ESPORTS RACING - Skill & Behavioural-based matchmaking, create your own Online Racing Seasons, and Live Broadcast and Spectator functionality

YOUR HOME FOR RACING - Your own personal, customisable Test Track to tune and test your cars. Invite others to showcase your passion for racing and learn race craft and engineering with the Project CARS Academy

They updated the minimum system requirements for Batman Arkham Knight.

Fuuuuuuuu...I just bought it from GMG and now they highten the requiremnts and openly say that AMD has problems running it ( shouldn't be surprised it's a gameworks game, why does devs use gameworks it singlehandedly is pushing the graphic card industry closer to a monopoly, and that would suck for everyone but nvidia)

Like seriously hoping for 1080p60 on medium settings then with my 280x.

Decade-old JRPGs are the very definition of niche, Arthea. And as to its sales, whatever momentum the series had on PC died when SC turned into an oft-whispered dream. A one-two punch of releasing FC and then SC some months later would've done a lot to cement the series' name on PC, I think, but as of right now it's firmly in niche territory.

Remember (unless I'm not remembering right!), SC is the one everyone was waiting for from the beginning; The Next Big Game From Carpe Fulgur, with FC just coming out of nowhere and, IIRC, not being translated by Carpe Fulgur at all. Recettear's meteoric success (and its wonderful translation) is the biggest reason why there was so much interest in the SC to begin with.

What Carpe Fulgur and Recettear have to do with it? That makes no sense whatsoever.

I don't see how people who haven't bought FC will go and buy SC. Even assuming that most already played FC, you know FC sales on PSP weren't good either, don't you?
Of course partly PSP situation and all situation with series are to blame, nobody wants to invest in series and wait 10 years for sequels if they get them at all, I understand that. But this was our last chance, we won't get another, at least I think so.

The demand for SC has nothing to do with Carpe Fulgur. They just helped (or were supposed to help) with the translation and or editing. People want SC because the first one ends on a cliffhanger.
All the doom and gloom around the series is really premature. Falcom is pushing it more with Cold Steel, SC will soon be out even if people who don't follow the progress think it's vaporware, and in the end we have no idea how much the series needs to sell to be considered successful for Falcom and XSEED.

It had 100K owners before sale, it now has 118K. 20K is allowed variation on steamspy. It maybe sold 14K during major steam sale being a flash deal, if that's not atrocious, what is?

It's not a niche game, Crystal Story is a niche game. Also they planned to release sequel together with the first chapter from the start, those sales are not going to blow Falcom away, and if we want all series on steam, that was only way to get them interested in steam. Xseed can do just so much, we even don't have TC announced on PC to this day, just reminding.
i dunno, anime jrpg on pc sounds like niche to me as it's not a genre that's commonly associated with pc and why it doesn't surprise me it's not pulling like insane numbers like wrpgs like eternity or whatever

if it's not niche what other reason could there be of the game not selling that great?

Arthea, don't you know? Falcom, and by extension Xseed, are only interested in consoles.
That's why PS3, not PC, is getting Trails of Cold Steel. We, PC users, just bankrolled that.
(
Also, we're not getting SC/TC, like ever. They've just been using 'extensive debugging' as an excuse to quietly drop the project and concentrate on consoles again
)
hopefully not

Stick Shift now on Greenlight....
i actually played quite a bit of this, three or four runs and never managed not to get pulled over by the cops

i'm still not 100% sure if it's mean to be erotic or not, it's just so fucking goofy that whatever excitement you might get from playing it is immediately countered by the ridiculousness of the guy's finishing face lol

Does somebody here have experience with Nuuvem and refunds?
Did some googling and seems as long as you didn't view the key they'll refund the money. Got sick of waiting and had a more attractive game + season pass offer anyway, so I got that instead and my key two minutes later in the inbox.

Asked them to refund Arkham Knight earlier this morning and hope I'll get my money back otherwise I'll probably just sell the key at a loss :c
Haven't heard from them yet.

Not sure if you're serious but we don't really need this system wars crap in here.
Cold Steel is on PS3 (and Vita) because no PC version exists and Falcom has no one to make one.

If you like the series just buy the games on they system they are on.

That makes even less sense than comparing Trails with Recettear.
Since when PS3 (or Vita) games can't be ported to PC?

You aren't forgetting that we are in the steam thread now by chance? If you do, I'll remind you here. I'll buy Cold Steel on PS3, I still want it on PC, I prefer it on PC, and no amounts of words will change that.
Even more I would have preferred to be done with Trails all three chapters before even starting Cold Steel.

Falcom is small, has no one that makes PC games and it's much easier and cheaper to release the existing versions to gauge continued interest.
I didn't start with the console talk

Just finished Ori. Yeah, I played and finished a game I bought during a Steam sale!

Really can't recommend it enough, if you didn't get it during the sale put it on your wishlist for the next. Best Metroidvania which is not in either of the namesake series.

ori_2015_06_22_19_43_bno05.png

(that's the in-game timer, without deaths or cutscenes, total playtime was probably ~11 hours)

I do now realize how people manage to finish a game a week while I struggle to complete one every two months: they don't play 70+ hour RPGs.

Thanks for stating obvious, I had no idea why we want SC.
premature? How many more years we need to wait for doom and gloom atmosphere? 10? 20?
Also it's not only that, where is Gagharv trilogy? It was released on PC, we never got it on PC in English too.

I honestly don't know, sometimes I think that me wanting series to succeed is some kind of curse, the same happened with Suikoden, well Konami is to blame for that one, at least I think so, but still.
It almost happened to tri-Ace, still can happen, not to mention BoF, WA and others. Or tetris!
OTOH Civ for example is doing fine, IDK, maybe life is just unfair?

anyway, time to play some of those games, we'll see if we get SC in July and how it'll do soon enough.

I really loved how the abilities you get later on really change the way of traversal throughout the world instead of just being "doublejump here, another new weapon there" you see in most Metroidvania games.

I guess I was the only one that got excited about SC because of Carpe Fulgur's involvement. Hrm.
Recettear was really good, you guys.

This whole idea that Trails didn't do well is incredibly silly. It's a JRPG from 2004 that was released in 2014 and sold ~120k copies so far, before bundling or deep discounts.

That's a success by any metric.

Just checked Trails numbers on steam spy, I wish I didn't... it literally sold almost nothing. If this trend will continue, I must admit that my dream to get all The Legend of Heroes series on steam will remain just a dream.

If you think that's depressing then don't look up the owners for Ark of Napishtim. I'm not sure how long it took for the other Ys games to sell the numbers they have now, but it looks like Napishtim bombed pretty goddamn hard.

I didn't see much fluctuation in either the Ys series or Trails during the sale, which is kind of a bummer. It probably didn't help that both went on flash sales in the middle of the night (at least in NA it was the middle of the night). So I think it might have been due to lack of exposure.

I hope that's a joke. PC is the main platform for SC, I'm surprised they're even bothering releasing the PSP version at this point. If they ever get around to the games between SC and Cold Steel, PC is going to be the only viable option. Hell, their recent blog post even specifically mentions the PC versions that exist of Zero and Ao, so it seems like a very real possibility at this point.

It all depends on how SC and Cold Steel perform, obviously, but I'm not sure where all that pessimism is coming from, tbh. If anything, it seems like a pretty good time to be a Trails fan to me.

Glad to see some Ori love. 40% off was an amazing deal, I hope more people jumped on that.

I loved Bash. It was just a joy to get around the map with it.

Also it feels like a bad idea to buy a AMD fury X when the less powerfull 980ti will probably out perform it in almost all games.

Damn you know someone fucked up when a company actually admits to shitty AMD performance before the game even comes out, when some people can still get refunds. Usually it takes a couple weeks of "were investigating reports of AMD performance cards" before they admit it's a gameworks problem.

Got my Batman keys from Nuuvem (no email but I checked them on the site).

It's weird, there's 2 keys, one gives me the game with Pre-order and the other one says it's a product already owned... Did they send two keys by accident?

The second could be just the pre-order content but you already have it from a pre-order game key.
