Sure, but 1 & 2 have been entirely from the perspective of Ryo. The player is Ryo. It'd be weird and hollow.

I partially agree, but ultimately we will have to see how it's implemented. I have the feeling this may have been in the design briefs from the beginning but I guess we will only know in time.

Which Imgur luckily converts to webm and mp4 - less than 1 MB versus 32 MB for the gif.
I don't know if Imgur supports mp4 uploads yet, but gfycat does.

Are you using Demul or NullDC? I have a similar problem with the captured aspect ratio as it gets squished up when I take pics, but not for video capturing. If I set it to 16:9, gameplay has a stretched image & video capture is stretched, but picture captures are perfectly fine... and everything is the complete opposite playing in 4:3, gameplay and vid capture are good, but picture captures will get stretched... it's weird.
i'm using demul in 4:3. i'm going to try extra geometry and see if i can get something a little more appealing with that function
the gifs are free to use once we move to the next kickstarter thread. a "what's shenmue?" section might be nice, and illustrating the battle system would be a part of that

Well, two straight days over the previous 5-day average. The stream and the limited rewards definitely had a positive result. Instead of 25k, we got 44k and 50k, I will take that win all day.
Now, they actually need to be a little farsighted and not make their new rewards ultra high-priced and ultra limited.
They realize how powerful a physical PS4 tier would be, and they really, really need to make it a reality NOW.
Hell, make a tier where 70 gets a ps4 hard copy, or another which adds Corey Marshall (and a few other select English voice actors) as an incentive. I would up my donation another 20 or 30 bucks if I knew I could get the option to switch between English and Japanese voices.
The increase in donations would definitely outperform the cost, in my opinion.

Exactly, and it needs to be NOW. Or at least, SOON. Every day they don't have this, they lose ground.
As an aside, if Sony's involvement will block development of this game on other consoles, they need to state that explicitly. Towing the line of "Currently, PC and PS4 is the only development we have planned." Or whatever will not work. They need to be deliberate. I am sure there are a few waiting to hear of a port to a different console, but if it isn't coming to anything else, that needs to be bolded.

Game is trending towards 8 million for now. Hopefully they'll keep the doors open for paypal donations after kickstarter ends.

Sega has been fully aware of this for a long time. Each pledge at Shenmue 3 is also more worth than one petition vote.
They should add the option for a PS4 physical copy to the $60 tier and add a choice of a PC steelbook or PS4 steelbook to the $100 tier. I'm certain that many of us at the $29 tier would move up to one of those tiers if they add those options.
I'm not sure if it's been answered before, but have they said whether the PC physical copy comes with a Steam/GOG key like Bloodstained is doing?

This would be great but Sega couldn't even be bothered bringing over Yakuza 1 & 2 HD, and that has translations already done that they could just copy and paste. I can't see them putting actual work into hd-ifying Shenmue.

Physical reward tiers aren't that profitable for the Kickstarter. People taking about physical copies and steelbook editions... the costs to produce and distribute them aren't insignificant.
If you want to maximise each individual pledge for the tiers, non-physical rewards such as meetups and design collaborations and letting backers name shit are much more efficient.
