Games you played with your Parents?

My dad has only played one game with me. It was World Series Baseball on the Saturn. He ended up staying up all night just hitting balls and swore off games completely after the next morning. My mom could care less.

With my dad when i was about 6. I would only upgrade speed, and he would try to explain why that's was a poor idea, but i was 6 and wanted to go fast. My mom also watched me play through MGS 3 about 4 years ago when video were being blamed by the news for causing violence in young adults. She teared up when
The Boss died
so i consider that a victory.

Mario Party. I somehow still love my family.

Don't play games with my parents nowadays really, but my mom is a huge Ace Attorney fan. Keeps asking me if anything is coming out every couple months. She also liked Hotel Dusk a lot.

Mortal Kombat. I remember taking turns with my dad decapitating each other and doing finishers when I was somewhere around 5 to 7 years old, if not younger lol. I still have the old blood code ingrained into my muscle memory :D

I used to play Banjo-Kazooie with my dad.

He'd be holding the manual and telling me what items to collect n stuff. I really enjoyed it.

I also used to play ocarina of time with my childminders daughter which was cool. Saw each other for the first time in like 10 years a while back and the first thing we said was about Zelda. Good times, good times.

I feel old now :(

My dad got me Resident Evil 2 for my birthday when I was young. We played for hours taking turns when we died. He tried Guitar Hero once but other than that, that's all I played with him. He keeps saying he'd like to try this and that but never does.

My mom used to play Mario Kart 64 with me quite a bit and played Minecraft twice. She loves classic games though and will play those in a second. I'd like to buy her an arcade machine for Galaga or one of her other favorites someday. For all of that though, she (for reasons she can't even explain) was the best at Tiny Toon Adventures on Genesis. Her skills at that game were something else.

I'm old..
Some pong clone on Atari..
Various super mario..
Troll..
Lolo..
Rygar...

I hope i'll do the same for my son when the time comes

Football Manager on the ZX Spectrum. My dad and I would play as Newcastle, even though every team had the same players, and I'd be amazed by the graphics when we scored.

Only one game ever... Night Hawk: F-117A Stealth Fighter 2.0
My dad taught me how to fly an airplane with that game.

I played Diablo 2 with my dad quite a bit when I was younger. He bought a second PC off of my uncle just so we could play together, haha. I play Guild Wars 2 every now and then with him, but he's way more into it than I am.

I've never been able to get him to play any console game past the SNES. He just can't grasp how to use analogue sticks for some reason and just ends up getting frustrated.

My mom and I used to play a lot of Mario Kart 64 back in the day. She played a lot of games like Puzzle de Pon on a Neo-Geo Emulator too, she even stayed all night trying to beat it. She also did that with Duck Hunt, trying to get as far as possible.

Thanks for those good times, mom.

I'm definitely the odd one out in my family as the only gamer but I think the one game I did get my dad to try was Duck Hunt on NES.

Wow, you guys are making me feel so old.

Combat and Adventure (Atari 2600)

Top Gun and Blades of Steel (NES)

Top Gun was funny, my dad could never land the plane, so when it was time to land, he would just panic and throw the controller my way. That game is terrible, lol.

None, specifically together no, but I do remember him royally buggering up my Ultima 4 save.
I was well on the way to becoming a full on paragon of virtue, with the layered ankh almost full, when I booted it up next it appeared my dad had curiously played around with it and destroyed nearly all my virtues. That set me back hours. :(

When I was growing up my parents loved watching me play games mostly such as Sonic and Mario. They still do, they were insanely hooked watching Assassins Creed 2 and more recently The Last of Us.
Just recently my mum was playing New Super Mario Bros U with my nephew though.

Dad always played sport with us boys but never played video games. He bought them and allowed us to play after chores or handheld for car rides etc.

Now that I'm a dad I await the day I don't have to let my son win in the name of him learning how to play. Years into the future I'll be able to straight up compete with him, win or lose it will be glorious. Coop games are fun but there's only so much minecraft or skylanders I can handle. At least he loves Halo. The interesting thing about games today is the environment outside of actually playing the game e.g. YouTube channels. He already has one registered and is working on some minecraft things for it to launch. At least I can contribute graphics, recording, editing and PC mods for minecraft. It's not a passing interest for him which is nice for me too.

Used to play Mario Kart 64 and Mario Party with my Dad. Mum would join us in Mario Kart sometimes but she was more of a single player person, played Kirby's Dreamland all the time. Also played a lot of Wii Sports and the darts game in Wario Ware Smooth Moves with Mum and Dad.

When I was a kid we completed both games with my mother, we had so much fun trying to get those damn red coins on YI.

Spy vs Spy on the Sega Master System I played quite a bit with my mum.

Goldeneye I played quite a bit with my dad (he even finished the single player mode, which I didn't) and Diddy Kong Racing was a game I played with my mum and dad.

My Mom was big on console gaming during the NES, SNES, and PSX era.

Earlier on she did well in platformers like Super Mario Bros 3. and Super Mario World. However around the PSX era she slowed down because of a reason I'll explain below.

Her favorite games were Lunar 1 and 2 Complete, She also liked to play Suikoden 1 and 2.

She also had a perfect save in Castlevania: SOTN at one point, with every possible enemy drop in the inventory and whatnot.

She couldn't get into the faster action games or games that required precise timing like skill based platformers or twitch action because she has has tremors which is some sort of off-shoot of parkinson's disease.

The most recent game she played was Ni no Kuni a few years ago.

Super Mario Bros. 3 (the roulette level, to be exact) and "that game where you shoot the ducks".

My mom is the best, lol.

Super Smash Bros.
Star Fox 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Toe Jam & Earl (with extended family)
Super Mario 64

After the N64, they never really picked up too many new games that I know of. It's why I really glad a new SF64-like Star Fox game is coming out since any time video games came up in conversation, it was all my dad would ask about, asking when they were going to make a new one.

"And don't say that one Star Fox that was just Mario wearing a Star Fox mask." (Adventures)

I played Soul Caliber 2 on the PS2 with my dad (he kicked my ass with Ivy, so many times). I also challenged him to Smash but he wasn't as good with that.
I played The Sims and some point and click adventures with my mom on the family computer too.

I played Mario Kart with my parents back on SNES and my mom said she felt like she was going to get an ulcer from how anxious it made her (she's a really relaxed person in real life and a great driver)

My mom once played SWTOR with me and damn was it horrible, this was the first "real" game she played since the colecovision was a thing and it was a MMO so you can probably imagine the experience. I did appreciate her effort to show interest in my hobby though.

My stepdad used to play crash and ratchet & clank with me and that was pretty cool.

Mario Golf, WiiSports are things that really come to mind. My dad did like to watch me and my brother play metal gear games though.
