There were originally 15 types of Pokemon, and it has since been expanded to 18. Some Pokemon have even had their types changed over the years (Gen VI had the Great Fairy Migration). Some of these are pretty obvious. Pikachu is an electric mouse, so he's electric type. Butterfree is a butterfly, so he is a bug/flying hybrid. However, sometimes they got it oh so wrong. Share which Pokemon you think are completely the wrong type.
I nominate Lugia.
He lives in the ocean and is known as the guardian of the seas. You catch him in the Whirl Islands, a place known for, you guessed it, whirlpools. And what type is he? Psychic/Flying. Huh? He should obviously be Water or Water/Flying. In the original games, he learned ONE psychic move... at level 99. He learned two water moves and hell, even a ROCK move before he finally got a psychic one. By Gen VI he actually learns three psychic moves, but you can tell that was just tacked on to validate making him Psychic/Flying.
Also Flygon, who is Ground/Dragon. When I think of the ground and dragons, I think of giant flying bugs.
