I'm kinda tired of all of these patch delays. Every time they announce a Patch, it makes me want to play again, but I say 'I'll wait for the patch' then they just delay it and delay it until I don't care anymore :\

So tomorrow or delay? I don't know, do the certification teams work on weekends?

I wonder what's the holdup? Maybe the patch failed certification? I mean I doubt they would've said it's coming this week if they weren't sure.

Haha this has been me. If they delay it to next week I probably won't bother again.

This patch sure is taking awhile.

I already 100% Arkham Knight, and started replaying DA:Inquisition since I lost my save. Hopefully the patch is out by the time I'm done with it.

Cant they release the ciri dlc at least? I gave up on waiting for the patch, but I at least want the new outfit before I beat the game. I'm right at the end, too!

Aaaaand that's me.

Have they fixed the person in distress glitch near the hanged man's tree? I need that merchant for the last trophy but the bandit leader with key never spawns. Looking up on google it seems to me many others having this same issue and it's been present since launch? umm.....what? CDprojeckt do you even bug fix? Also really looking forward to the new controls the game is super clunky as it is. BTW i still think its the best game i played in a long time just from sheer content and story.

Same here. I stopped the last time and I stopped again now. It's especially annoying when I know the PC patch is being held back so the console patches can clear certification. Patch parity wouldn't bug me as much if the patches were released without warning.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.

Here is a question:

Do we absolutely positively 100% know that is 100% the case? A lot of people seem to think this is the case and its certainly a possibility, maybe even likely, but I am also open to the possibility that its something fanboys are blowing outta their ass.

Someone suggested that because of console certification that CDPR made the decision to tackle and fix the consoles FIRST and the work on the PC while those were getting certified.

That actually makes more sense to me. Why can't that be a possibility too?

It's supposed to fix the frame-rate problems on the PS4 version, so it's not hard to imagine that the PS4 version saw the bulk of the effort. It was obviously something that took time and effort since they're just now able to fix it.

Oh yeah. I've never managed to rescue him. I'm not a trophy hunter so it didn't bug me as much once I learned he wasn't a barber (at the time I found him I was desperate to find one so I could shave Geralt's beard and check out the different hairstyles).

I figured the glitch was that I didn't check the bandits for the key when I first killed them. They respawn all the time now but without that key.

Yes it's the knowing that the patch is imminent that is painful. Two weeks is a long time between announcing a patch and releasing it, I'd rather not know to be honest, just release it when done without all the buildup.

It's in pretty good shape already. It's just that their patch schedule, especially on PC, has been atrocious.

Lordy, that hyperbole. What is so bad about releasing patches when they are ready ?
I very much doubt they are withholding PC patch. If the console one is in cert, then the PC one is being QAed inhouse at CDP. It's not just artificially held back. There is no reason for it to be, considering they had no issues releasing previous patches whenever ready on various platforms.

The reason for the patch to be held back is that they promised to release it on all platforms at the same time. So for example if they're done testing the PC version and the console version is a few days away from getting the certification from MS and Sony, then they would probably artificially delay the PC version to keep their promise. We'll know that this was the case if they indeed release the patch on all platforms on the same day.

But that's the thing, I very much doubt there is such a thing as "being done with testing". You can never test software enough.

Except we don't, they could have finished those first knowing if the console cert time and worked on PC last. I know it's frustrating to wait but we literally don't know why it's taking this long, even if it's a safe bet that it's console cert.

I'm still in the camp that if it's ready for PC just push it then, and I'm playing it on PS4.

OK, but you can't spend eternity testing it either. Waiting for the certification perhaps gave them time to test it more thoroughly, but I think they would've released it by now, if they hadn't decided for the patch parity.

That is possible, but more testing time is always good in my book, hence me finding the outrage ridiculous.

Do you have a proof that the PC patch is already done?

If the patch magically comes out on all platforms simultaneously I think most reasonable doubt can be set aside.

It won't be 100% proven but "patch parity" would be my answer if a gun was put to my head if a simultaneous release ends up happening.

Yeah I think all these early announcements of patchs and then subsequent delays are turning me off on the game more then anything else.

I just can't help it. Its a great game but I get promised all these cool new additions so I force myself to stop so that the rest of the game will be experienced with these new additions but then they wait so long between announcement and release.

So I slowly turn apathetic mixed with frustration.

Just do your thing.

Do not worry about being out-leveled for quests since that is bound to happen. Take it slow, start on Blood and Broken Bones (unless you want the Death March trophy then start on that) and just enjoy.

The first 10 levels will be tough but not impossible and once you do those treasure hunts you can get better armor which makes you more resilient in combat.

Combat tips:

Always use Quen before engaging in combat.

Fighting bandits? Always kill the archers first because they can take 30% of your health in 1 hit.

Let an enemy miss you by using dodge, put in 2-3 strikes and back away. Rinse and repeat.

Use oils when you notice you are fighting an specific enemy type like; Spectres, nightwraiths, hybrids etc.

Enjoy.

Cheers, will look out for this quen! Certainly looking forward to how much the experience is improved with the patch.

I really hope this patch fixes the Coronation music glitch. I was hoping I'd be able to skirt by the glitch by not immediately attending the ceremony, and getting to Novigrad without loading up another save I made after it. But, no dice; loaded up a save in Novigrad with no music. :(

Ah man, if they're still actively working on the patch, then its not going to be this week. There's no way that they would able to hand if off tonight to MS or Sony and get it through certification before the weekend.

Shit. Back to Elder Scrolls Online then.

They've been talking about it for almost two weeks and its fixing stuff that's been an issue for almost two months.

We're all out of patience.
I'm kinda surprised they didn't learn their lesson from the XP bug patch. Where they announced it and made it seem complete and imminent only to take a week or so to finally get it out.

They really should put off announcing til the patch is really close to rolling out.

Remember, patches usually sit with certification departments for ~five days or more. And that's for patches that pass cert. Failed patches take even longer.

If a PC patch is released at the exact same time as the console version, chances are very good that the developer held the PC patch back. However, we can't be 100% certain unless the developer confirms it.

*These timeframes are a few years old. I'm not sure how long patch certification takes on modern consoles.

What? Ciri DLC? Huh?

I just hope my game magically starts again when the new patch is out. Can't play for two weeks now.
