You should all totally listen to News 39, it's pretty much the best song ever and Miku sounds really good in it.

wow is that what Miku sounds like now? Sounds almost real.

Rolling Girl was pretty much the only Miku song I've ever liked.

Also random P5 prediction.
Won't hear about it till Sony has a pre-Tokyo Game Show event in early Sept(assuming they do it like last year). Game will be announced for a simultaneous world wide release for either Nov 24th or Dec 1st

Miku better have an Aigis outfit

She already looks close to Labrys in a couple shots, Miku would look so much better than Kanami in a Labrys alt costume

I'm pretty salty that Miku got in before Labrys, but that may just enforce Labrys as a P3 character with her being left out after the events of P4AU. I know she was mentioned in the Drama CD's, but P4A was her first debut in a game

Her persona is based on greek mythology. That fits with the Persona 3 cast.

Persona 4 gets Sho. Lucky them.

Wow it's a miracle! My account got approved! Been a lurker here for a few months and made an account about a month or so ago.

Guess I will make my first post here since I love the Persona games and can't wait for Persona 5! :)

Although I'm guessing there will be a OT8 very soon?

They would have to release them pretty close together to make the 2015 deadline. I think November in Japan/December in America would be a pretty fair bet.
JP+US does not equal worldwide, though, not when Europe's getting it in 2023

Welcome to the thing, we do indeed seem to be in the thread's twilight pages.

Persona 4. Tie between Margret and Maya Amano. Kanji. Tie between Yoshisune and Black Frost. Snowflakes and Memories of You.

Did I get most of them?

Ok, so. Deep breath.

Despite buying the original copies of P3 and P4 waaayyy back when they came out (and being interested in the PS1 games when I saw shots of them in EGM) I've never really gotten into the series. I've wanted too and I've started p4 and p3 multiple times but never made it very far.

I think it's the really repetitive dungeon design.

However, Persona Dancing All Night and that super, super slick P5 trailer has really caught my 'cool' eye and I've purchased P4 Golden with the intent of seriously checking it out. I'm past the part with
demon Chie
.

1) My first instinct is to go grind, grind, grind, but that really wont help with the social link stuff will it? What should I do? Spend one day with a party member and then the next day with another? What about part time job stuff? I'm a bit concerned over where to spend my time because I don't want to end up underleveled for a boss.

2) You have to head back in when it starts to fog right? Or was it rain?

3) Any consequences for gettin' with all the ladies? Want to see all their storylines or whatever.

Any other tips would be un-bear-ably great.

1. Heavy grinding is usually not needed. If you see an enemy it's usually a good idea to fight them. You decide how and who you want to spend time with. Just choose what you want to do and usually that's fine. Part time jobs give you money and help with increasing social attributes in order to interact with more people.

2. Rain leads to fog, a few consecutive days of rain = fog. It's basically a warning that you are running out of time.

3. Nothing gameplay wise but they will try to make you feel like crap at the end.

Other tips include to make sure not to get attached to your personas and fuse all the time. Also do Marie's social link by the end of the year, it adds content to the game.

1. Ideally, you should do all your leveling once per dungeon.

2. You have to save the victim before the fog hits. The rain is your final warning.

3. You can just be friends with them, unlike in P3. Choosing to date more than one or, YHVH forbid, ALL of them will result in
all but the one being upset at one point. My advice, pick one or none.

It's best to go inside the TV on rainy days and get as much progress as your SP meter will allow, since there's usually not much else to do when it rains. At least not until a bit later.

Yeah, in addition having a persona of the same arcana as the social link when you hang out will help speed up its completion. I generally liked to spread out who I hung out with, if possible, though really it's up to you. And some jobs, in addition to giving money and stats, have social links that are tied to them.

I only played the original Persona 4 so I could be wrong, but in the Golden there are some Gold Hand shadows that you can grind if you need to, though you might not be able to reliably kill them. They give you lots of EXP and yen. I think shuffle time also may help?

And for the ladies you don't have to have a romantic relationship with them to complete their social links, unlike Persona 3.

I've posted a few tips for newcomers before, but the general idea is to do what you want. You're not going to see everything on your first playthrough, there's just too much. Just take it easy, try to do as much of a dungeon as you can in as few attempts as you can stomach. Hang out with the people you want to get to know --"part time jobs" are just there to give context to more social links. The game isn't hard, so you don't really need to min/max social time. Grinding is minimal/non-existent if you fight enemies as you traverse dungeons. There's always something to do in the game, it'll become second nature in a short while. Sit back and enjoy the game!

Some PQ spoilers but something I just wanted to mention
Kinda sad that the scene involving Kanji and Ken crocheting wasn't remembered it would've helped avoid Shinjiro's death in P3.

One thing I hope for if they ever bother doing another EO spinoff with some other franchise is that they make the dungeons slightly smaller....I spent more time in the dark eye straining Evil Spirit club than I ever wanted to.

I'm still at the Evil Spirit Club and I have no drive to continue. PQ is great, but it's such a slog.

but when you get to one of those great scenes where both teams have this kinda funny convo it's nice.....thought still finding it hard to care for the new characters....

wow is that what Miku sounds like now? Sounds almost real.

That song is by Mitchie M, who's known as being one of the few people who can make Miku sound almost human. If you played Project Diva F, he did Freely Tomorrow (which, coincidently, is one of my favourite songs in that game).

Curious why more people aren't able to do that. I assumed that they created a new or updated version of it or something lol

I never played Odin Sphere, but the tapestry art is pretty great.

Speaking of art, I drew everyone's favourite character. It may or may not be really obvious, but I'm still getting the hang of drawing with a tablet.

Dude I freaking your Sho drawing

So wild and... edgy, kinda like the character himself

Chin up. The next dungeon
has great music.

Seriously tho, they could've made the dungeons a bit simpler.

Complex is fine, but it gets really tiring when there's this much of it. Some of the puzzles are fun and I don't even mind the map drawing, so I think I just need to find the motivation to pick it up again.

I hope my art will one day have as much edge as him.

I have a soft spot for Sho, mostly cause I like the idea of him. They completely blew the execution.

I like how I haven't seen a single person point out that Atlus hasn't shown any Persona 5 merch to sell at Comiket, even though I'd personally think it would be the most obvious thing to do. It wouldn't have to be anything totally new: there's a bunch of key art and logos already available that they could use for whatever. I bet they could also sell the P5 Blu-ray disc if they wanted to.

I think it means we've collectively reached the stage of acceptance.

Even Atlus USA has been giving out Persona 5 merch.

and yeah, continuing the Odin Sphere getting heavier promotion than Persona 5 despite releasing later trend as well.

Points off for MoY, tho. :p

Tasteless, as always :p

To be fair, i don't even know what Comiket is

It's brilliant really. What better way to celebrate the fifth entry in a series based on Jungian psychology than teaching the fan base about the five stages of grief described by a psychological model?

It's not like they even need to do much promo, they know the hype is perpetually real.

But speaking of merch, I'm looking forward to the eventual figures. Don't need to look much further than the MC to know we're in for some potentially awesome sculpts.

It's like an extended version of November 24, 2013. It's nice to look back to that thread and relate it to what's happening now. People were freaking the fuck out.

Edit: Oh yeah... and Hashino's always been talking about how "catharsis" is a very important theme in Persona 5, which was at full display in that thread and will be when the game comes out. This metanarrative surrounding Persona 5 is fascinating, haha.

The third dungeon is where the balancing issues really start showing up. Obviously, everyone has spoken of corrosion and how it favors the enemy so much, but other issues show up as well like instant kills being horribly imbalanced and magic at a turning point where it's still weak but getting better. Also, the puzzles suck. Some of which I suspect is related to translation issues as well.

You call it acceptance. I call it indifference. =p
