When is the finale expected? Think I'm going to play all episodes when they're all out but I'm tempted to start now...

Two months or so going by the other episodes? I don't think they have said anything though. The wait between 3 and 4 was like 70 days. The other episodes took about 60 days in between.

The ending would have been 1000000000x better if that end scene with Victoria winning was way, WAY abbreviated. The long it went on, the more obvious that that was going to mean anything--especially since Nathan was not there.

It's usually nice to go around and listen to everyone and get all the world-building, but with how long the episode was, the constant "where's Nathan"'s were a trap I walked into a lot with.
Speculation on episode 5:
Someone who was watching me stream this episode immediately made the connection that Max would need to go back and use the photo Warren insisted on taking to avoid (what I assume) is a dead Chloe. Maybe it becomes a last big choice of either save Chloe or let the storm hit.

Yooooo that ending!!

I knew Nathan wasn't going to show up at the end there. But I did not expect HIM!

That being said, I think Max will somehow escape and use the picture she took with Warren to go back and try to save Chloe.

Something that bugged me was that you couldn't rewind or put things back to make it seem like you were never trespassing in the Prescott's bunker like in previous episodes :/ The whole ending could of been avoided if they did just that..Unless there were hidden cameras.

It seems like Jefferson knew Nathan got fucked up and, noticing Max's intentions (both directly and possibly from other students), put 2 and 2 together.

What the fuck is going on anymore? This whole episode was incredible. They've all been better than the last and I hope they keep that up for the finale. I'm guessing
Jefferson is the fucked up individual behind the dark room and is just using Nathan as someone to take the blame and do all the dirty work.

I wonder what link he has to the Prescott family if that is true.

Just finished the 4th episode. The rewind bug was a buzzkill and wasn't sure what I had to redo and what I didn't.

In terms of Mr. Jefferson there's still a lot that's weird. It still seems like the game is setting up Nathan, Jefferson, and David to all be bad guys (though David saving you would be pretty sweet).

But yes, in terms of leaving evidence, it bugs me that I couldn't rewind any of it.

It saddens me a bit that Rachel is dead, I was kinda liking the theory of her being a time traveler. I sort of wonder now why does Max have any power at all if Chloe is just gonna die over and over? It cheapens the experience to me a little... Well, we'll see in episode 5.

Ignoring you leaving behind evidence those few times, Jefferson had more than enough to go off of to figure out you and Chloe were onto Nathan and by association him. Nathan's other phone being missing and the dark room being discovered was plenty. The amount of rewinding necessary to hide piece of evidence you left behind would have been insane. Still they should have you let you attempt to anyway

Also,
who let Warren fuck Nathan up? Lol at first I was going to tell him to stop but then I noticed that Chloe takes his gun if you let him get beat up.

I wonder if that will affect anything in episode 5.

The soundtrack for this game is brilliant. Fits the high school, hipster feel perfectly.

In My Mind is especially good. Reminds you of Max and Chloe's friendship, but also hints towards a possibly dark ending for their relationship.

Not story related, but major props to SE/DN for getting
enough club music so you don't have to hear repeats during the Vortex Club scene.

So, the Vortex Club is just literally a nightclub club, right? There's nothing more to it than that? That's a little disappointing...

HOLY SHIT. That episode on its own was better than anything Telltale ever did. That was an emotional rollercoaster.

I need to sit down. forever.

Can I replay episodes or parts of them to collect missed photos without fucking up my main save ?

Yup. There's a collectable mode in the game that doesn't affect the actual choices you play in the game. Just press play, episode you want to find collectables for, then you'll have the option to play in collectable mode. Once you're given a message for it, press the corresponding button and you're on your way.

Yeah, I realize he still would have, but it would have had more of a shocking impact I think. Feels a little odd that episode 1 to 3 taught us to cover our tracks and in this one it was like lolno.

The vortex club is pretty ridiculous. I know it's a private school but I find it immensely hard to believe a school hosted party with alcohol and no staff would happen. People ditch prom for a reason.

Yeah definitely. Seems like they just wanted to push things forward knowing what was going to happen. I tried to be discrete with Nathan's room but then he just shows up there and your cover is blown just like that probably to facilitate the Warren ass-kicking scene. You could have done the whole thing without any time elapsing

sweet

yeah, there's a collectible mode for chapters with hidden photos, the game can also let you restart a chapter on another save slot

thanks

Yes. You can jump freely into episodes and single scenes in a special collector mode where nothing counts, but the photos of course.

all for

Yeah, it'll ask you if you want to copy to a different save file.

Why do most people think that
covering up the Dark Room after M+C were there would have changed anything? I'd agree that it was dumb to not have Max even attempt to do something like that, but I assume that Jefferson was onto her/them from the start and it ultimately wouldn't have changed anything storywise.
I'm pretty sure this won't go unnoticed though and will be explained in EP5.

Yeah,
DJ Doom was amazing, Max was hating on him for no reason. Gotta find that song that plays just when you enter, because it's fantastic. Made wandering around the pool even better.

EDIT: Huh, it's Breton - Got Well Soon and apparently it's been on the LiS OST playlist for a while. Released on Oct 7th 2013, so
DJ Doom is playing some really hot shit on the party.
Love details like this.

Damn, so many legitimate surprises for me in this episode! One of which was the length of this one.
Couldn't believe that ending or how dark it got.
The final episode is going to be intense!

I was sure that
finding Rachel would be the end of the episode but it kept on going and ended on an even bigger bombshell.

Super clever trick they used in the pool party scene, to not stress the engine too hard, all the people dancing in the pool are low res, low frames 2D sprites that always face you when you go around the pool but the illusion work because they added circular water movement around their body on the one closer to you so your eye don't see the trick. Because of the low lightning on the pool and the distance, I didn't noticed the first time around ! I love these little illusions and tricks to save resource. I think it's clever and serve the general quality of the game, the more important stuff that need more focus

well, that was intense!

I had to take a break at some points - I can't remember the last time I was that engaged with a game like this!

I didn't want to go in to that barn basement - it just seemed like a bad idea... and the final text at the end, seemed like a trap going to the junkyard - but yet, I had to go there! - especially with the tractor engine thing so close to the trapdoor, seemed to me it would be very easy for someone to come along and put that on top of the trapdoor while I was down there.

I was definitely expecting someone other than Nathan to be revealed as a bad guy - had previously thought maybe it would've been his dad, right up until the final scene...but wasn't expecting Mr Jefferson.

Finished ep 4 right now, very good! Also I haven't read the whole topic so I don't know if someone said the same thing but
reading the letters from the father and stuff I think Nathan is somehow tied to the supernatural events? It always talks about "their role" "their legacy" and the fact that he has to be ready to embrace it

Just finished ep4. I think it was the best episode this far, though maybe a tad too long. Some really nice plot twists.

But now I have to wait 2+ months for ep5?! Fuck that. Give it to me now!

Why would Jefferson be on to Max and Chloe? He didn't even know Chloe until this episode. He also had no reason to really believe Max was onto his secret. And I think if you go through the events of Episode 4 you can figure out what played out from Jefferson's perspective.

I'll quote myself from the spoiler thread;

I don't think Nathan sent anything. I think Jefferson sent it.

Here's what I think happened the night of the party (granted if things differ on other playthroughs, like if you get Jefferson kicked off the Everyday Heroes content, some or all of this might be wrong).

1) Jefferson and/or Nathan go to prepare the Dark Room for Victoria, who they are going to bring there after the party. Probably by Jefferson luring her into isolation after awarding her the winning entry for the photo contest, or by Nathan luring her away from everybody.

2) Jefferson and/or Nathan find the Dark Room compromised. Max and Chloe didn't exactly enter subtly (lock pulled off with engine), and they left the Mitt Romney style binders full of women collection out; specifically Rachel's stuff, and the empty Victoria folder. Pretty easy for Jefferson/Nathan 2+2 to put together there; whoever broke in knows about Rachel, knows Victoria is next. They however likely do not know exactly who broke in (Nathan would suspect Max/Chloe though I imagine).

3) Jefferson and/or Nathan figure Nathan's role in all this is compromised (letters to him all over the place, his jacket on the couch, photos of him there, etc). But nothing there suggests Jefferson has been compromised. Jefferson has been remarkably good at concealing his involvement. Though now I'm thinking that all of the artwork of Nathan's that creeps Max out, but sort of impresses her, is not Nathan's, but Jefferson's darker stuff and Max just appreciates his style reflexively.

4) At this point, Jefferson tells Nathan to go into hiding, or maybe even kills/imprisons him himself. He does this because Nathan is compromised, Rachel's body's location is compromised, meaning Nathan is a liability to Jefferson if caught. They need to find out who broke into the Dark Room and quick.

5) Jefferson and/or Nathan check where they buried Rachel and yep, sure enough, he's half dug up. Somebody knows too much to be allowed to live.

6) Jefferson goes to the party as planned to suss out who broke into the Dark Room, knowing whoever did will likely go there to warn Victoria. He sees Max talking to Victoria, or he figures it out when he talks to Max and Chloe and they seem extremely distracted and eager to leave. I can't remember if they also ask Jefferson if he's seen Nathan, but that would also be a dead giveaway.

7) Jefferson uses Nathan's phone (which as I said I suspect he has because he's killed/imprisoned Nathan, or told/forced Nathan to go into hiding) to lure Max and Chloe to the junkyard. This way if anything goes wrong as well and say, Max and Chloe arrive with cops, Jefferson has plausible deniability; twas Nathan who sent the message.

8) Kills Chloe, captures Max.

So yeah I think if they had cleaned up after themselves after breaking into the Dark Room, Jefferson and Nathan wouldn't have suspected a thing.

I thought that too, but there didn't seem to be any urgency on the father's part. He seems to believe that Nathan still has time to shape up, but these supernatural events are happening too soon for that.

Could Max have undone the lock breaking, any foot prints, their tire tracks? It stretches the bounds of what exactly you can clean up although it's never communicated properly. Also Nathan caught you red handed. Even if the room was relatively undisturbed his phone was gone and Chloe was there in the boys dorm, someone who he's tried to kill before. Just knowing Chloe was there the phone would have been the first thing he'd check for.

I'm not trying to excuse what they did but it could have been explained reasonably if they attempted to.

Did anyone notice that the line from Nathan on the trailer wasn't featured during the episode?
"A storm is coming! We are all gonna die!"

Oh yeah, I totally get why Max didn't, Chloe was off like a bat out of hell and she was running to keep up, so I get it.

As for Nathan's phone, whilst Nathan may well suspect Max/Chloe took it, he and Jefferson can't be sure so it makes the most sense to lure whoever has the phone to the junkyard to kill them.

Playing the PS3 version, ep4 has a huge glitch. The rewind feature is really bugged. It's working, but rather than work normally, it freeze for 2 second and then work a little bit, and freeze again. Very irritating.

I think rewind is having some issues across all platforms. I had two instances where it got stuck for me on PS4. Then I watched the Geek Remix playthrough of the game on Youtube, and they hit the same issues twice as well - I think they are on PC.

Pity, I just tried rewind on another conversation and it worked normally... wierd glitch, hopefully the game won't crash.

Also someone draw a meme saying "Alyssa y u play hard to get when u already hard to want" in the dormitory wall, and under it a dick drawing...

I don't know why I found that funny...

Finished it. Thoughts:

Chloe is meant to die. The universe keeps killing her in some fashion. Even in the alt universe her injury is slowly killing her. At the end I can see her being dead for good and then 2 spirit deer appear to Max.

A few plot dumbness and Max being an idiot, but stuff you gotta let go of for the sake of the story.
Call the cops, Max! Take pictures of the crime scene(s)! Upload to Youtube!

I forsee max going all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjrM-3c3XVs
