Mighty No. 9 Will Not Release In 2015 (According to GameInformer)

Uhhh. That date was pretty well locked. What the hell?

It originally having an April 2015 release and then September and now another delay...oh boy.

More like "Flighty No. 9."
More like "Mighty No. Nein."
More like "Mighty Bumbler 9."

Seriously I wanted to play this game.

Hopefully they're delaying it so they can totally kill the art design and level design with a 1 ton cannon and start over from scratch. Because it looks like shit, honestly :-/

Less than 6 weeks away, and they are gonna push it 3 months +?

Thats insane, and almost unbelievable if this didn't come from a reliable source. What the heck is going on.

This and the Red Ash failure are really disconcerting.

THE RIDE NEVER ENDS

This has to be some kind of mistake on GameInformer's part, no?

GameStop (Disclosure: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company) tells us on background that notification of delays such as this one are initiated by the publisher. This includes placeholder dates that are put in place when a game is first listed or, in this case, delayed. This indicates that the 2016 placeholder was driven by Deep Silver and Comcept, both of whom we've reached out to for comment.

.

we should ban that tweet because it adds nothing to the conversation and every inafune thread is a race to post that ancient thing again and again

"Good News, Everyone! We made a new business deal where we'll get two times more funding if we delay the game until the next fiscal quarter!"

I made all that up, it's a joke

Don't give him too much credit. He pretty much just does some initial drawings and then spends the rest of his time wondering how he can suck more money out of us.

Wonder what happened. Didn't the game seem pretty far along during E3?

Uhhh. That date was pretty well locked. What the hell?

These are my thoughts as well. After E3, I was fairly certain 9/15 date was pretty much set in stone meaning they should currently be in the polishing and going-gold phase. If this ends up being accurate, something major must have happened or they were completely misrepresenting how close to complete the game was.

Either way gives me cause for concern. Also, if this does turn out to be true I think a "silent delay" that's exposed would end up hurting the Red Ash kickstarter far more than simply being open and honest about delays.

BUT CAN WE HAVE MORE MONEY THOUGH?

here comes the third KS for MN9

This kickstarter is a mistake, it's nothing but cash.

That moment when Gamers realize what a publisher feels like when dealing with how much of an endless money blackhole Creatives can be if they are not controlled.

/s, but it is kinda cool that Kickstarter is putting donors in a similar position as publishers, but without any of the benefits like the profit which would result from a successful game release.
