Someone else here who doesn't like cardboard boxes and booklets with artworks you can check out online lying around in your house... for twice as much as you pay for just the game?

Well, I can understand it if you have a room or a vitrine solely for this kind of stuff.

Jesus christ I hope it comes back.

I don't get this prayer and a hope you need to ensure you're not doing a damn thing the day these exclusives are up for preorder, but c'mon....

Kind of interested, but I already have the full OST, so I'll probably pass and maybe pick up a full art book if there's one down the road.

It was up for a while lol

it was a while by amiibo standards, it wasn't very long by any real standard for previously unannounced things, as it was up for about 4.5 hours, which is a pitiful amount of time for a product that was just announced, and thus because I decided to hang out with some friends tonight I don't have a chance to buy it at all. people really shouldn't need to be glued to their computers at all times to be able to get a special edition, if a company isn't going to make enough stock to last for at least a day of ordering, they should at least announce when it's going to go on sale a few days in advance so people can try to be there for it.

Alas it was just amazon, and there is a chance best buy and others will get it (heck I am shocked that this wasn't done as a game stop super scam special where you have to go in store to preorder it, pay in full, and have it shipped to your home when it releases) I'm not to bitter about missing out if I do though, it looks cool and I would like it in my collection, but at the same time it's not like I have a nice collection of wiiu limited editions like I do for the ps3 and vita nor am I expecting a lot more in the future, so my future Rodea The Sky Soldier LE can just sit in forever alone LE land lol.

anyways, I really wish larger companies like nintendo would just team up with someone like amazon, have a one week preorder window open, and then close preorders and just make the number for preorders and thus give everyone a chance to order one that wants one. The main reasons to buy a special edition is because of the goods included, not because not everyone will have a chance to have it, though it's also nice to not have it mass produced to the point that you feel like an idiot 6 months later when the special edition is going for $20, thus why just the preorder window.

Hoping BB, GS and other retailers have it. Amazon is known to sell out quickly as they don't charge until shipped, so you can make a reservation. More Xeno action is a good thing, might be the last big game to send off thr Wii U into the sunset as Zelda Wii U will probably be cross gen between Wii U and NX like GC and Wii TP.

Wow, makes me feel a bit worried I was complaining earlier.

Maybe they'll open it up again and some others can get one reserved.

?? What a weird post. Just buy the regular for "half" the price

How long did the Fallout 4 Pipboy editions last? What about MGS5 CE? I honestly have no idea since those games don't interest me. I'm just curious. This was up 3.5 hours or so which is way longer than the Majora's Mask stuff was earlier this year.

the pipboys were up for nearly 24 hours (though I believe the 3 versions of the game randomly came in and out of stock)),
went down
came back for like another 12
wend down again
about a week later went back up for another 4 hours or so
and then I think they finally sold out. They were up for quite a while.

MGS5 CE sold out decently quick like 6 hours... and then like a few weeks agowere up for like 40 hours, they came back for a long time and that is when I decided to cancel my order because I figured any gaffer I could help out at getting them it at cost would have just preordered it the second time it was up thus I didn't need to keep mine.

keep in mind my times are mostly just for best buy (as GCU on limited editions is huge and thus I don't keep track of other places to well) but I know the pipboy was up for a good amount of time on most places the first time.

What is weird about asking if there are people feeling the same way about something related to the topic? Your post is extremely weird.

Of course I buy the regular version.

I wonder when this hits Best Buy and people who order it there for GCU cancel their Amazon order what happens?

Does Amazon immediately adds availability one by one?

For the Majora's Mask limited edition I waited on Best Buy for GCU because I thought it would last and didn't want to take a preorder spot from someone on Amazon. Ultimately it showed up for an hour on Best Buy at a weird time and I couldn't get it.

So I'm not taking the chance now.

I don't think it's immediate. But sometime within X hours I believe.

Best Buy is my only hope now.

They would but... currently only one retailer has put it up and to top it off there's plenty of scalpers... so yeah

Only really two listing on eBay. I think those that might actually want the game are getting it. Or if there are scalpers they're being smart and not listing anything as that could be removed if reported.

I didn't get it. If you know anything about my history with the first game, then you would know everyone who wanted it didn't get it. No idea this was up until now, was out for most of the day. If no re-supply is coming, scalpers will get my money sadly.

There's definitely more supplies coming. Right now only Amazon has it listed. Nintendo's PR email specifically said "Unique to North America, this Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition is now available for pre-order at select retailers nationwide."

They wouldn't use the words "select retailers" if it was an Amazon exclusive. It would say Amazon exclusive. The problem right now is the retailers got the go ahead (as stated in that email) to start pre-orders but apparently none of them want to list it yet. Honestly, this is a somewhat good thing. It's a good thing because those of you that missed out on Amazon now know about it and can keep your eyes peeled for other stores like GameStop and Best Buy (let's face it this is what we're really all waiting for. Even those that pre-ordered at Amazon)

The bad thing about the retailers holding back though is that we have people already jumping to conclusions that they literally sold only 5 copies but in reality it was just everyone pre-ordering at Amazon early just in case because there's no downside (due to Amazon's lowest price guarantee and not being charged until it ships)

NOA strikes again with their crappy shortages. I don't think I'm going to buy the regular edition now because of this. I'll have more than enough games to play on PC and PS4 anyway, and my excitement for the game was tempered when I found out that the game has a skimpy story and focuses more on the side quests which I found to be the most tedious part of Xenoblade Chronicles.

I'm sure other places will post it soon. MGSV was just as bad and I missed it when it went up on Amazon too. Ended up getting it on gamestop.com.

*bangs head on desk*
Did you even read my post? What shortages? We haven't even seen the full supply yet.
Why is everyone jumping to this crazy conclusion that just because one online retailer sold out their supply (in 5 hours nonetheless) means there's no more coming? Especially since other retailers haven't even listed theirs yet.
