Final Symphony II announced, features music from FF5, FF8, FF9 and FF13

Acoustics in the Babrican are pretty good, it'll sound fine. The big difference is in the RAH the acoustics are more or less a little better (IMO) up in the Balcony and you have a wide stage view, which is fine with the screens. At the Babrican there won't be any screens; it's a much more traditional, strait-laced orchestral concert, so no game video or excited talking between segments from the host... they just start and go, uninterrupted. Without screens being further away you're getting amazing sound but perhaps can see less, basically.

Sounds good to me. Thanks.

In an VGMO interview with Thomas Böcker, he confirmed that Final Symphony II will be performed 5 times this year. So apart from the UK and Germany there could be 3 other countries in which they will perform (Probably at least one in Scandinavia again, but that's just my guess)

Thomas Boecker: Final Symphony was always made with the idea to present it in several countries. While 2015 will see a short break because of our focus on Final Symphony II, which will see five performances this year, we are looking to perform concerts in parts of the world where we have never been before. I believe there is a huge market for Final Symphony and Final Symphony II – the Final Symphonies – and our promoter is making more and more orchestras aware of the fact.

Ohh, didn't actually expect that we'd get the premiere again. But don't they want to come to the north of Germany for a change? Always such a long trip. Then again, I'm glad it's not in something like Munich or so.

I was under the impression as well that London would get the premiere this time, but they probably just can't hide their German roots. Announcing the London concert first probably generated more buzz though.

I am just a bit disappointed about the venue. Not a big fan of the Beethovenhalle in Bonn, especially compared to the Stadthalle in Wuppertal.

I haven't been there yet. What's wrong with it?

Had the feeling that the acoustics quality was a bit lacking last time I've been there, but maybe I was just seated in an unfavorable area of the hall. In general, the hall should be completely fine.

Is there a DRM-free version of the first album, yet? Last I knew, it was only available on iTunes. I don't do DRM.

I really like attending FF concerts but the fact that XIII is featured so prominently means I'd probably avoid this one if they went on tour...

The concert in London is now sold out.

Still plenty of seats left for the concert in Bonn:

Revamped the OP to give a better overview of all the different upcoming performances. I'll continue to update it if any new concerts are announced.

I am a bit surprised that the concert in Bonn isn't sold out yet like the concerts in the past. Could it be that V, VIII, IX and XIII just aren't as popular as VII or X? A shame if this was the case.

I think when Final Symphony was announced in Wuppertal, there weren't any other concerts announced yet, so I guess many people that went there are now going to London instead?
Also, how does the size of the two concert halls (Wuppertal vs Bonn) compare?

Yeah, they announced Wuppertal first but they sold out two performances at that time. The Beethovenhalle might be a big larger than the Stadthalle in Wuppertal... maybe by 300-400 seats?

Unfortunately no info on who arranged which track yet but sooo looking forward to listening to them now. Especially curious about the FFIX and V arrangements (music of both is not getting enough love imo).

Man, I would love to hear that Hamauzu piece.

Especially after the piano concerto he did for the first album, dear lord.
Disappointed it's 'Blinded by the Light' and not 'Saber's Edge' as the latter is much, much better

You missed the "etc" part. It gets enough repeat performances that it would be unusual for it to not appear in this.

Also, all the stuff here isn't going to be performed in "vanilla/OG/plain" fashion. If you want that, you go to something like Distant Worlds.

This concert series is for sets of sublime renditions and elevations of the original pieces into true, gorgeous performance works.

I've been to both. I'm also going to the one in London.

Personally looking forward to the FF8 one the most, as that arguably has the best music in the entire series.

13 and 5 will be good no doubt, and I'm not particularly bothered about 9.

Ah sweet! I wish I could be there for this concert series!

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Was upset at no Man With the Machine Gun, but on second thought, that really wouldn't let itself well to a symphonic arrangement...

So the world premiere of Final Symphony II will take place at Bonn on Saturday.
Just as a heads up for people attending: Admission will begin at 6 pm and people will have the opportunity to buy the Audio-Blu Ray of the first Final Symphony 1 month before the actual release date. While the concert starts at 8pm, there will be a concert introduction by Masashi Hamauzu in the same hall starting at 7pm in which he will explain his arrangement work on the FFXIII suite. No extra ticket is needed for the concert introduction so I'd advise everyone to come a bit earlier :)

Thank you so much for making me aware of the concert introduction!

Thanks! I didn't know about that.

You're welcome! I am surprised that they haven't promoted it more prominently to be honest. I only read about it on their Facebook page, which probably isn't followed by all attendants. Also no info on whether the introduction will be in English or in German only. Something to keep in mind for all international guests.

Anyway, so excited for tomorrow! :D

My expectations for this concert were quite high due to the quality of the first Final Symphony, but once again the team around Thomas Böcker managed to deliver. All four arrangements yesterday night were brilliant and it's difficult for me to say which one I enjoyed the most! I could be biased towards the FFV arrangement since most of the FFV tracks have never been performed by an orchestra before. Seriously though, the most frustrating thing after such a concert is that I can't immediately listen to the arrangements again, since I probably missed a lot of the small details on the first listen! I hope they'll release a recording for this one as well since it would be a waste if those arrangements would never be available for the wider public!

Won't go into too much details on the tracks they used to avoid spoilers for folks, who will attend the concert in London, but in regards to one of the Encore tracks:
Who would have thought that you can mix Battle on the Big Bridge with the Chocobo Theme that well? Absolutely brilliant and funny! :D

Also bought the Audio Blu-Ray for the first Final Symphony and I really like the packaging for it. Really well done and it includes a very informative booklet in which the several arrangements are discussed more detailed. Can post some pictures later if anyone is interested.

Hello everyone who will be there on saturday night. I'll wear a totoro shirt..if you see me, say hi :D

Was really nice to meet you! Forgot to ask yesterday but on which FFXIV server are you playing?
