Media Create Sales: Week 35, 2015 (Aug 24 - Aug 30)

It will do well, imo. Have you seen those ads outside Yodobashi? I would suggest a duo regarding legs. Mario Maker and Splatoon can co-exist.

uhm, no, long time I don't go to Yodobashi; but absolutely they will co-exist during winter holidays, curious to see if MMaker release will have an impact on Splatoon weekly sales

Isn't the Mario Maker bundle replacing the Mario Kart 8 bundle?

Because then MM and Splatoon can coexist in the same way Splatoon and MK8 have, that is unless there's a Splatoon bundle later on.

Yes, it is but is a little bit more expensive. And as I said, they perfectly can co-exist, Mario Maker taking advantage from the bundle and Splatoon from its legs. Btw, do you imagine a Splatoon bundle? That would make it the best selling game on Wii U for sure.

Interesting to see Mario Party 10 still there about 5-6 months after releasing. I guess it should eventually hit 200K. I'm still skeptical of it hitting Chris's estimate of 300K though.

Just like you were skeptical about Rythm heaven + reaching 500.000? ;D

MP10 will reach 250.000. And 300.000 too, these games don't stop selling (look island tour on 3DS)

DQ numbers don't really look blockbuster-ish. I wonder how Builders will perform.

Did I say that about Rhythm Heaven? Well it's proven me wrong. To be fair, I could see it going a lot higher now.

According to GamesMaya, Metal Gear Solid V TTP is selling more PS4 hardware than she was expecting.

That's good to hear, especially with it being cross gen. Games like MGSV, FFXV, KH3 and the inevitable Resident Evil 7 should collectively help the hardware situation quite nicely over time.

regarding mario maker, i think it'll have a modest debut in the 200k range but it'll have at least 3dworld kinda legs, better than most games but not exactly stellar

just hope interest in splatoon helps mm sell well along side it and i have bigger hope in this happening than mm having the high end of mario legs

I wouldn't say that 3DWorld had kinda legs. It sold "well" because it was Holiday season. When it finished, legs died.

Mario Maker should perform better than that, Mostly because with the Hardware Bundle it will drive sales during and after the holiday season, and will replace Mario Kart 8 weekly position.

At this point I doubt Nintendo will release a Splatoon Hardware Bundle later.

Mario 3DWorld didn't have real legs just the benefit of holidays.

As for MGSV and the unbelievable boost it will give to PS4, MGS4 sold 450k on PS3 at launch. For a game that will sell at least 100k less on PS4 of course hw bump will be smaller.

Well, the PS4 can take what it can get. It will be close to 800,000 YTD next week, and should end the year ~1,250,000. That's a bit better than what some doomsayers were saying at the beginning of the year.(Less than 2014 YTD/less than 1 million)

And what does your hyperbole of calling out the imaginary people saying MGSV will give ps4 an "unbelievable boost" have to do with anything?

I think his point is that all year you and the like keep predicting the ps4 to do worse than what is actually happening. Yes it's not seeing the world on fire which we are all reminded of every week but it has done better than many have predicted.

Calm down, he didn't call out, he's stating some sales facts to base any prediction. Just argue with him with some data if you think he's wrong and MGSV will have a better launch. Because he' was talkink about first week prediction, not about how the PS4 has been doing overall.

This:
The bump will be smaller, but the PS4 has made an entire year of small bumps, and made an ok year of it.
has nothing to do with what he stated (about the game's launch).

didn't really pay attention to the legs it had, but i remember it was good in the first month, and crap after that which is what i was trying to say, it didn't have the legs other mario games usually have

mm will have better legs from the bundles alone, but for some reason i just don't feel like it's gonna be selling as well as other mario games, considering we're nearing the end of wii u

wii u has done better this year than most predicted, does it make it a success?

theres people saying ps4 is selling great nearly every week when reality is different

in comparison everyone with a brain has already accepted ps4 numbers are just average

Yup, i doubt in 75k like PS3 with MGS IV, but MAX 50? Do you seriusly think is the maximum?
theres only 25k difference between 50k and 75k

not sure what u want me to say, thats the maximum in my opinion, im not stating a fact

Luminous Arc 3, Dec.2009, LTD : 38k
platform : DS
systems sold : 25mln

Luminous Arc Infinity, Aug.2015, LTD : 25k
platform : Vita
systems sold : 4mln

clearly Vita is the problem...
According to Garaph, the LTD for Luminous Arc 3 is from December 2010, about 1 year after the release. Luminous Arc Infinity will keep selling some more in the year to come + download sales. The game might end up at around 35k or so, not too far off Luminous Arc 3 if that will be the case. Some small decline, but not too much.

LA3 already saw a steep decline with respect to the previous two entries so at this point the franchise might well be done if production values cannot keep up with sales.

Can't help but wonder why they decided to make LAI on Vita when all three prior were on DS. Not to mention Imageepoch were very available for 3DS development.

Marvelous saw really good success with Rune Factory 4 after a similar lifespan, so that would've been a positive sign to follow suit with Luminous Arc, granted RF3 likely did far better than LA3, but still. :p

They also waited a long while, feels like a LA4 should've happened like 2 years ago around when RF4 did.

Speaking of, Rune Factory 5 ain't happening is it? :( Swore they greenlit it and they managed to put out Lord of Magna with the remaining folks from Neverland at Marvelous, so why the hold up?

What the hell? More delays? There must be a reason or something...

Any theories?

60/65k Are possible as well if You ask me.
I predict 55k for PS4 next week, all under that seem pecsimist.
Your 40k prediction for example seem extreme too low.

The boost is not gonna be +600%, but +115% boost is pecsimist.

but most of delayed title are also for Vita or Vita exclusives...

Normally I'd say delays happen, but the volume of stuff that's being delayed - it definitely feels like there's something going on.

And I mean, it's 2 and a half years since the last price cut and 2 years since the last revision - price of Vita seems lower everywhere else in the world. Wonder if another one is finally coming.

Well the most thinkable reason is they aren't done. Now here are some other additional possibilities:

1. Logistics or distribution optimization (yes distribution channel has extreme influence over release schedule)
2. Games aren't getting enough orders from stores.
3. Publisher's financial situation (if release date is shifted beyond Oct then this is very likely).
4.
Price drop of the platform is announced to publishers

Remember guys, Vita has new colors with price set already, on the other hand PS4 has a Arslan Musou bundle set for Oct 1st without price announced.

Sony has to show up on PS4 already, they killed Vita for its sake, got 3rd parties on board, its about time they show some commitment with lower entry prices and 1st party games. Sep 15th is a crucial day for PS4 life, it'll be easier to see where it'll stand the next few years.

Like what Pennywise83 said above, basically declining sales made it difficult for them to make a sequel. However, they had not given up and held meetings periodically with the former staff members to discuss on how to continue the series. Things like changing the illustrator and the look of the game, putting it on PSP instead, adding a song element etc. were brought up but unfortunately the plan fell through. After some time, they decided to start again and held talks with Felistella in which they agreed to release the game on Vita because it's better suited to display SRPG character units.

Well, that's my crappy translation. Please correct me if there are any mistakes, thanks.

that's the reason cause I wanted to track down all those delays
I mean, delays are normal, or at least possible, but now we are talking about more than 10 games delayed...
What's make me skeptical about price drop is that delays are variable, not specific date or period of time; for example, from Sep.17 there are 3 new colours, surely sales will raise up, so if would be normal to see some title postponed for that week, and SW4Empires and Yoru no nai Kuni have been postponed exactly to Sep.17
other delays are nailed to end of Nov. first half of December, so I start thinking that publishers just want to get their games released for winter holidays
but concentrating a lot of titles in the same period is not always is a good move, just think about the massive release we had in March and how many titles bombed...
