Forza Motorsport 5 VIP: 2013 Ferrari LaFerrari
Forza Horizon 2 VIP: 2011 Koenigsegg Agera

Hmmm just been playing Forza 5 & i checked the Forza HUB as there has been some credit rewards & it now says that i have 10 cars waiting for me in Forza 6!

I am Tier 8, i have Forza Motorsport 4, Forza Motorsport 5, Forza Horizon 2 & my Forza 5 & Forza Horizon 2 are the VIP editions!!!

Has this happened to anyone else??

EDIT I have just been on the Forza forums & a few others have had the same thing happen with missing reward car numbers, apparently there are some problems at the moment.

I am going to keep checking mine every day until release, because if there is things not adding up correctly what happens when Forza 6 is released & it says you only have 10 cars waiting instead of the 12 (what ever number you have) or are missing credits? will on checking Turn 10/MS be able to add them later??

Don't tell me this game is going to have release day problems as well, getting tired of this now, a few days ago it was MGS5: CE missing DLC codes issues

That's something I'm still struggling to understand. Typically, cars with white / grey or black paint look very natural, while colored cars (especially red and blue it seems) look rather unrealistic and oversaturated. I wonder if it has anything to do with metamerism, but probably not. Might just be that the shaders used multiply all reflected light with the paint color (besides pure reflections I guess), which is incorrect, since afaik car paint has small metallic flakes the reflect light without attenuation.. Another problem might be Fresnel effects, that is different reflection behaviour depending on the viewing angle, which may or may not change the effect color has on the lighting.

After that ....I now wonder what you do for a living.

Also, I think only metallic and special paints ("candy paint" is an exaggeration in that) use flakes. And I doubt it has something to with fraction related physical effects on the cars, I'd imagine the mismatch with reality would be pretty big.

My guess is it's 100% intentional. Gran Turismo helicopter cam track-shots usually look more realistic (at smaller image sizes/lower res) than Forza but also less idealized hollywood'ish. In Forza "haze" doesn't exist, which keeps everything high-contrast. Driveclub does a good job with hazy environments, but I'm not sure I even want that in my Forza game, optional, sure, but not for the standard race look.

Oh I'm just a humble part time app developer / part time indie game designer who likes to muse about way too many things (often tech or physics related) I only have a partial understanding of ;)

That may very well be true. Perhaps it's not a matter of shader comlexity or post processing but rather a deliberate artistic choice. Yet I think it could partly be due to having to strike a certain compromise between having complex, natural lighting and ensuring a rock solid framerate that never wavers. But again, I'm not proficient enough in the matter to claim that with certainty.

Why would you notice it in pCARS, where the on-screen wheel rotates 1:1 correctly and naturally? It's noticable in FM because it suddenly stops halfway through the steering action and you have to trust that the front wheels are still turning. Lol, you know this. Stop fucking with me..! :p

Why wouldn't I notice what my own hands are doing the wheel? I'm saying when I'm driving my own bands barely go much past what is animated in Forza with exception of hair pin turns. And I was saying when I was driving on Monza I don't remember how much I rotated the wheel on the chicane, but either way most chicanes aren't that extreme anyway.

Be nice to see an option, something like iRacing where Arms/Hands are removed and increasing the visual rotation of the wheel.

OK, no problem, we'll just have to disagree on this one. The issue also depends of course on how sensitive the steering ratio is set. If the wheel has a high gearing to give kart-like response then it might not show at all, but a lot of players use anything up to the full 900 degrees of rotation on their FFB wheels, making the 180 degree limit of the Forza animation manifest itself very often. Hell, anything above 180 degrees means it will happen to a varying extent. If it wasn't an issue then other games in the genre (DC, GT, pCARS, AC etc) wouldn't go the trouble of animating the full rotation of the wheel correctly, but they do, so it must be. Anyway, the evidence in there for all to see in any number of cockpit videos going all the way back to FM3. You don't think it's an issue, I do. Let's leave it at that.

It is on there. Try the SmartGlass app instead? I find it to be a hell of a lot more usable.

Put a search in for Forza Motorsport 6 then scroll across until you can see it.

Have you tried the dashboard refresh ? L+R triggers +y button, may help

Excited! Probably gonna pick this up with a wheel.

Do you all think getting an older Logitech racing wheel is worth it or should I wait for a new one?

Don't go there!

Grab a TX, its a nice little base and you can change the rim and pedals and add a H shifter if your budget can stretch that far.

I have it set at 900, for the vast majority of turns you don't need to remove your hands from the wheel.

This annoys me quite a bit actually, but more so because I can't _remove_ the wheel and hands from the screen. Who came up with the idea to have that shown when you're using a wheel?? It totally destroys my immersion! I have to look at a second pair of hands and a second steering wheel infront of my own hands and wheel (!!) which like you say rarely match with how much you turn the wheel or how you move the hands. It's even worse when you're using triple screens on PC, because then you're almost there, the immersion is great. Until you use the cockpit view. :/ They seriously need to add an option to do remove that when you're using a wheel, just show the cockpit view minus the wheel and hands, easy fix, I always drive with the hood cam in all racing games now that I have a wheel :/

Important news, for me at least, I got confirmation that the S2000 in the Fast and the Furious DLC is indeed the day-glo pink one from 2 Fast 2 Furious, and the Supra is indeed the orange one from the original.

That's great, but I hope the Forza Horizon 2 F&F DLC makes its way over, and that the Lancer Evo from 2F2F, and the RX7s from the original and Tokyo Drift make their way over via future DLC.

Yep the store is god awful and hopefully gets better with the new dashboard or whatever they're doing. It's insane how there's not even an A-Z sorting option and everything is just dumped together.

Yeah it's weird why the FH2 Fast and Furious DLC isn't in the game, maybe it'll come as free pack later? And hopefully those cars you mentioned along with the Lykan Hypersport from Furious 7 and the Jensen Interceptor from Furious 6 would be awesome to have.
Still, the pack they have in the game is pretty sweet, I thought it was just going to be the FH2 cars all over again!

You go to games, move right and under New Releases is Coming Soon then Top Rated, Most Played and New Game Demos.
They must have underestimated their user base when designing the store.

I 100% agree with you, but that's got little to do with what we were discussing, which is the on-screen wheel's inability to rotate beyond 90° in either direction. It doesn't bother you at all, I think we get that.

I think the Lykan Hypersport is coming in one of the monthly DLC packs, just a hunch.

But how often are you going beyond 90, that's what I was getting at.

I'm so unbelivably trash with the wheel it hurts.

Same, I seem to be fine in day or night conditions though.

However, because I have no Force-Feedback, in the rain, I can't feel any friction, so can't tell what's happening to the car and I lose control...or I just can't brake in time.

That combined with not having a proper stand makes things hard, but I can teeter on Average/Above Average Drivatar, which i'm fine with.

I can maybe go to Highly Skilled/Expert with the Pad like I do in Forza 5, but I find the Wheel more fun.

I wish my 360 wireless motion control wheel worked with the one, I only ever used it with forza 4 :(

Was that good?

Same. I can go reasonably close to my best pad times with the slower cars which is fine, as it is literally more fun with the wheel. Trying anything faster than an MX5 though tesults in some Maldonado esque efforts.

Taking an Impreza or something along those lines w/ the wheel and going on a cruise on FH2 is one of the best gaming experiences I've had.

I only have 2 complaints: loading time and the puddle sound effect. You guys think retail will have faster loading time?

For those of you who play with controller, do you use "normal" or "simulation" steering?

I switched to simulation in F5 and found it to really make the cars feel more alive and I liked it. In this demo I'm struggling though, maybe it's been too long since I last played Forza...

What sort of times are you dudes getting on the corvette wet lap in the demo?

2:37's at the moment. Can definitely shave 2-3 seconds off that time (and I know where I'm losing time) but I'm reluctant to practice anymore as I don't think the times we set in the demo carry over to the full game.

Is that with the wheel? I'm stuck at 2:39. There's this one puddle that is shitting me to no end. I drive like my grandma around the thing.

I get 2:41 with Automatic, ABS On, STM and TCS On with Normal Steering on the Pad.

I use Automatic for my Wheel as hitting the paddles at the right time would be too much to think about haha. I'm swamped as it is!

But now, it's hard to use Manual with a Pad for me.
