I...I can't tell if it's terrible, great, or great because it's terrible. Most of the early jokes weren't striking me very well aside from the first appearance of the "Mentalist lever" (before it was even used, I thought the implication was already strong enough), and for some reason I appreciated the cursed product placement amulet.

I like the thought of begrudging acceptance of sponsorships, but I hope they vary up the ways to present it, if it's tied to the amulet for the remainder of the show I'd see it getting old really fast.

Colbert's kind of "shouty" vocal style is a stark contrast to Dave's calm, aloof tone.

Seems to make for a manic show, which I'm okay with.

He's Stephen Colbert and I love it.

I'm curious if he can switch from that persona to interviewer.

But that whole amulet bit, to me reminds me of his old show. How it just kinda keeps going and he rolls with it.

I think I could get used to this

Yup,I feel the same. If there's any pandering in the interviews and no ball busting I'll be devastated

Lets not put all our eggs in the opening episodes basket. The Colbert Report was the outlier of daily comedy shows in that it hit it out the park it's first episode. The Daily Show, The Late Show, John Oliver and pretty much any other nightly show takes time to hit its stride. And lets also remember that The Colbert persona slowly grew on the Daily Show before he took it solo.

Lets not Conan Colbert because of one show.

Pretty decent so far.

That dome is awesome but the set is fucking blue as hell, a little too bright or something, maybe it's my TV but Lettermans set was way better. I'm not a fan of that that product placement skit.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
Oh god, a Hydrox reference
