Richard VanDeventer put it on his portfolio website as well. Curiously he uses the fake image as the thumbnail for KH 2.9

I hope that there are major improvements on the loading times. The load times especially on 2.5 were pretty bad. It bugged me the most on the drive transformations.

the main reason the load times in 1.5 and 2.5 are so bad is cause of the fact they have to load them off blu ray discs

if the were to come out on the PS4 the games would be install on the hard drive and would make loading faster by default

the main question I have to ask is that are they going to fix the fact that for some reason the English version of 2.5 have longer load times

Describe horrible? Cause I don't see it selling less than 500k

Everyone is using Type-0 sales as a standard. Reportedly on XOne sold below the minimum it needed to make sense to port the game, which was not an expensive game at all.

So, right now this is the only kind of data we know, if you base yourself on that, yes, it will be a bomb

So that kind of information isn't under a NDA? I know they worked on certain parts of the game and it will give them jobs, but I just wonder sometimes. It's not like they're huge spoilers because we know a lot of that has been in the game since the beginning.

You think with something like that they'd be under lock and key with details, but they're hiring some artists and designers for jobs. They aren't necessarily hiding things in a safe and calling it a day.

Sure. I get that. I really think that using type-0 as a metric is doing xbox owners a disservice as not only is the game a $60 non-mainline ff port of a 6 year old psp game, but the game itself wasn't very good (to me at least). Cut us some slack square :(

I agree, but slow sales do show that not as many Xbox owners were willing to buy Type-O to play a demo of XV. Maybe Square thinks that's indicative of interest in upcoming mainline titles in general? Seems silly to me, but we're talking about Square.

Toy Story in KH has massive potential. And I wonder if they're going to add Frozen and how that'd work, seeing as there's no real villain.

It'd offer beautiful landscapes though.

Darkness consumes him, add more spikes, blah, blah, zippers, blah.

The fact that 2.9 has a need for new boss design and stuff leads me to lean towards KH2.9 being the Episode Duscae of KH3 like others have speculated.

This actually makes sense, they did put that demo in to survey the interest for the game (making a 2.0 version later too!)

Maybe Square doesn't want to waste any more resources on things they actually want to sell.

Hey Sqenix, I'll give you guys money for this. *real life* dollars. Sure, you'll have to port it to Xbox, but I'll buy it I SWEAR

It being a port of an old game is irrelevant. When people usually complain about late ports, it's because they were able to play it before on a preexisting platform. The original PSP game doesn't exist in the non Japanese market so it is essentially a new game to the rest of the world. No one has played it unless you understood Japanese or played the fan translation. A port also doesn't make a game inherently good or bad.

Don't forget it also had the FFXV demo attached to it.

if this is true, great for the ones who didn't buy 1.5 and 2.5.. i would love to see DDD HD for the PS4/Xbox one. I am not replaying KH 2 just because its on ps4..

Having a PS4 none of this affects me but IMO the reason KH3 will probably bomb on xbox is because SE never put the 1.5 &2.5 collections on the 360 (xbone won't get it obviously).

You place a new sequel on to a console brand with no history with that franchise (none the less a franchise spanning multiple sequels along with a complicated storyline which require having played those games) but refuse to port over a collection of them for potential new fans? You honestly deserve to have that game bomb.

At least that's how I see things/end rant

lol looks like the ps3 is still going strong, kind of surprised it's getting this 2.9 or whatever it is.

Releasing a demo for FFXV so far in advance kind of made sense because they are making such sweeping changes to the design of the series that they needed to get it out in front of people to see how to mold it and adjust it for a final release. With KH3, it doesn't make as much sense because given everything we know right now, the game isn't a drastic change from what came before. It's just more of the same taken to a higher level and scale.

Either way, Nomura has hinted at a big announcement at D23 Japan in November, so this is probably it. He also said we'd get more info on the release date/window of KH3 there.

I don't care what it is as long as it's a Kingdom Hearts game. If it means I have a KH game to satisfy my excitement until 3 comes out I'll be happy

I don't know, mostly because next year is Dragon Quest 20th Anniversary...

Unless you guys just aren't expecting it to come out next year, then when would it come out? They said it's coming out in 2016 and that they'll announce the date in March. That would make it seem like it's going to be a release that's going to happen in the later half of the year.

Frozen in Kingdom Hearts most likely just retell the Frozen movie storyline like the early Kingdom Hearts game. so Elsa possessed by Darkness act as the big bossfight

edit: a quick google show there's photoshop of it already, lol

Not saying the port made it bad. I just thought the game was not good and that i wasted a lot of money. The fact that episode duscae ran like ass did not help either (Still really like it though). I am just of the opinion that type-0 was the WRONG game for them to judge the xbox market off of. Kh is the better choice and xbox gamers would benefit a lot more if the rumored remaster comes to that system as well. More than likely won't though

I'm betting Inside Out. It's a massive hit.

Isn't that kind of too recent to be worked with? Unless they were planning a world before the movie was released.

Also the name KH 2.9 really isn't that bad considering. Unlike the majority of nonsensical titles, this one actually makes immediate sense. Emphasis on immediate.

Gonna scream if it isn't a port of 1.5, 2.5, and maybe a Duscae-demo thing. Demo alone is so wrong.

Kingdom Hearts 2 came out a month after Chicken Little, but to be fair that was just a summon

Big Hero 6 came out last year

it's still long way before KH3 is released, they could still probably do it

I really hate SE's naming schemes and this matches it so it's likely true.

Birth By Sleep not being called Kingdom Hearts 0 was a missed opportunity, and I know quite a few people who skipped it thinking it was an irrelevant spinoff. :(

The thing that Kingdom Hearts 2.9 could be called II.IX, which us a reversed XIII (13) somehow increases my hopes, that this thing is something on it's own, regarding Org. XIII.
